Career Connections | Digital Court Reporter Webinar

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is partnering with State College of Florida (SCF) to provide a virtual information session about its tuition-free Digital Court Reporter training program. Participants will learn about the online class and how to apply for the funding scholarship through CareerSource Suncoast, as well as hear directly from an employer regarding job opportunities in this high-demand profession.
Digital court reporters play a key role in the legal system by capturing and maintaining a verbatim record of court proceedings. Graduates of the self-paced class will be ready to pass the Certified Electronic Reporter exam and can work from home or in-person providing deposition and litigation support. Average starting wages are $25/hour.

Love this! I agree, it is an awesome career. I became a digital reporter and transcriptionist after 18 years in the corporate world, and never looked back! It is a great profession that pays well, is fulfilling, has growth opportunities, offers flexibility and independence, and always has something of interest to look forward to.

I did this job back when it was 2 tape recorders a sound mixer and microphones. We later moved to digital recording equipment. I stopped doing it to pursue more stable work. But I do miss the work I'm looking to get back into it now if possible. I did this for over 10 yrs before I left the industry.

We can work on our PC or have to buy a laptop when working at home? How much remote work now would be available in 2022? Have to take a certification or no? What if you need more time to finish course? I am currently a legal transcriptionist, previously a legal secretary since 1979.
