I created a spreadsheet with every single cursed technique in JJK in it and used a 1-10 scale of the 3 criteria I found to be the most universal and fair. Please keep in mind this is used to rank JUST the cursed techniques not the users of the techniques.
Power: This refers to the raw power a technique gives a user, regardless of the conditions. This criteria was used created first because this is a ranking list based on combat.
Versatility: A good cursed technique must be usable in any circumstances. Without versatility, raw strength doesn't matter, as the technique can be easily subverted if it cannot adapt to different battle grounds.
Drawbacks: This criteria acted as a subtraction when ranking. There are a lot of cursed techniques that are good but have some limitations or some sort of condition to use. I felt it was important to take these drawbacks/conditions into account and this was the easiest way to do that. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

You need mahoraga as a model to be able to know how to do it so you need ten shadows
Perfect Sphere is broken, however Yorozu made the sphere out of the same liquid metal she had been using the whole time, meaning Mahoraga got the full four swings and already adapted to the metal. Yorozu lost because she never thought to switch up compounds on the fly. Also, creation might be able to make an arsenal broken cursed weapons without dying.
Mahoraga does not always need 4 swings. He can adapt faster depending on the technique.

@@IsThatAThaiNameThat applies for only special grade cursed tools. If you really wanted to, you could create tools such as: Maki's polearm, Slaughter Demon and Megumi's black sword.
If Mahito, a curse, can alter his own soul, I think a case could be made for idle transfiguration working on curses too
Thank you for pointing this out. I was absolutely floored when I saw Idle Transfigurations placement and reasoning. Easily #1 best technique in my eyes hands down

@@Zalmoxesuwu Mahito has show capabilities to shoot transfigured humans as bullets with his fight against Yuji, as well as make Todo’s hand explode into multiple pieces of metal. It wouldn’t be a stretch to combine the 2 and fire off dozens of shrapnel shards from far away. His giant earthworm like transfigured human can also go pretty far. We also can’t forget that Idle Transfiguration also makes it so that conventional attacks aren’t effective means to damaging the user, only soul based attacks or attacks that eradicate the entire body(hollow purple for example). This means that Mahito can be able to close the distance using forms like the flying bird man form he used against Mechamaru or turn his feet into hooves when he first fought Mahito. Mahito actually has to fight Yuji restricting his full capabilities, due to Yuji’s ability to target the soul, and making himself a bigger target just means making his soul more vulnerable. Against Fire and Ice users, unless they can perceive the soul, will only slow Mahito down.
Additionally, I’m in the firm belief that we haven’t seen Idle Transfiguration used to it’s upmost capabilities, and we can even use other characters as examples. We know that Sukuna, after watching Kenjaku turn souls into cursed objects, was able to replicate that same action on himself and switch bodies to Megumi. Keep in mind, Sukuna, as far as we can tell, does NOT have a technique that manipulates the soul, but only going off his ability to perceive the soul. So take into account of Mahito, who can both be able to manipulate AND perceive the soul, and it’s safe to assume that he can pull off a similar feat. Mahito can decide to pull a Sukuna and take over sorcerer’s bodies, giving him access to multiple abilities. Or he could even do the reverse, turn sorcerers into cursed objects and absorb them into his being, adding multiple sorcerers at a time. I assume he would have an easier time that Sukuna being able to suppress the soul due to the nature of his technique, but if you argue against that, then Mahito can replicate the bath Sukuna used to suppress Megumi. I can keep going on and on, with things like curse energy traits, potentially copying bits of his soul and permanently attaching those pieces to sorcerers, copying his own or others techniques onto transfigured humans, turning transfigured humans into a literal demon core and slowly killing all humans nearby with radiation, maybe even skip all that and make a transfigured human NUKE.
So to sum it up, no, Idle Transfiguration is NOT useless against ranged Techniques.

Sukuna doesn’t even learn this himself, Kenjaku is the one that turned Sukuna into a 20 piece chicken nugget meal to be reincarnated later on. If Mahito’s technique revolves around manipulating the soul itself, I believe it’s a safe assumption that any feats involving the soul by any character can be replicated by Mahito. Take that as you will.

Hakari has unlimited CE , normally a domain expansion takes so much CE that the person casting is useless afterwards (unless you’re Gojo or Sukuna)

World dismantle doesn't need the 10 Shadows. 10S was used as a model, not a tool, Sukuna just learned that trick from Mahoraga.

He seemed to have no problem killing cursed spirits at least so we know he would neg diff all the disaster curses, even Mahito since his bs even affects the soul. Though one might ask if it's Takaba's moral values that's acting as a binding vow that makes it so broken in the first place.

The comedian ability is incredibly broken. At first I was like, the character is kinda lame and his power takes me out of the dramatic story but when you see how much it affects Kenjaku, you realise the potential of the CT. This fight sold me on both Takaba and his cursed technique.
You also can fear the brokeneness of the technique in the hands of a dark, twisted villain (which you can only imagine if Kenjaku can transfer his brain into Takaba's body)
I find it hard to believe Takaba laying down on the ground in burial garments as a joke counts as dying.

Almost everyone in the series have cursed energy, (exept Toji with HR, and probably some others), but jumpei and every person have a tiny bit of cursed energy, its just that only sourceres with more than normal can use and control it.

Cursed spirit do have souls, Mahito said it himself. He was trying to find the true form of his own soul. But even without that If cursed spirits do not have a soul they won’t be a “spirit” in the first place, but just pure curse energy. Soul, spirit and consciousness are all synonyms in Asian folklore. So everything that is self aware or is conscious of itself and others has a soul. And this is apply in jjk at all times.
Cursed Spirits have souls. Mahito said so and he can use the technique on himself.
Some technics seems like you forgot to take in account the user itself , Only Yuta could only uses the older techniques because they are stored in Rika , Ice Manipulation probably would be hard to use too but is in the hands of someone who survived for thousands of years , and Sukuna's cuts are so lethal because his proficiency and amount of CE
Yuki says the max techniques someone can have without external storage is four. Considering most sorcerers barely have one, it's pretty good. Even if the three copied ones are only average, the versatility puts it above most CTs. Just not as good as having every CT you've copied at once, which makes it S tier.

I feel like Dagon/Hanami could've shown us a LOT more versatility and power if they werent killed off in their first/second fights. Its like how Mahito learned new ways to use his ability over time, gotta remember that Dagons FIRST fight was his LAST and Hanamis SECOND fight was against Gojo.

I would put cursed manipulation above copy since there is a limit on how powerful you can get but with cm you can pretty much get as many cursed spirit as you like and nuke anything in your path Kenny even said that geto would have won in the zero movie

Curse manipulation is good, but not that good. Techniques like star rage can 1 shot any cursed spirit and Copy can copy star rage.
I would put cm under idle, not only can you do the same as cm but with humans but you can also undo hr and heal any wounds, you dont even need rct. Somebody got their body chopped in half? Just make him a new body.

He somehow thought perfect sphere isn't that strong because mahoraga adapted to it in one spin, even though it actually took four spines and the sphere was made out of the same metal that was adapted to. Sukuna even called people like yorozu a one trick pony because of her CT.
I love how some of the lower end techniques are from some strong characters, it kind of pushes that they’re stronger because of their higher skill.

Yutas copy is different than the standard copy CT. A normal copy CT stores the CTs inside the sorcerers brain meaning theres a limit of 5 or else your brain goes mush according to Yuki

I think there's a bit of inconsistency in how the techniques are ranked. Early on it was mentioned that abilities are based solely on their own potential, but in much of the A-tier category the techniques were judged in the context of their respective users. You have cursed spirits like Dagon, who never entered a real combat scenario prior to his fight with Megumi and friends, being the showcase for water manipulation when its potential is much greater. I think it's impossible to truly know the extent of each technique's capabilities so they *must* be judged in the context of their user. In that case, abilities like limitless should be in S-tier.
Correction: The slash that cuts the world has a requirement of chants ands hand signs, but the reason gojo did not see it is that sukuna made a binding vow to use the ability once without start-up but in the future he will have to do the chants and hand signs, smart move by sukuna to beat gojo

Its not single use/killing the user, thats a result due to a binding vow he made with Kenjaku that made it that way. Without that binding vow restriction its pretty good.

Imma just say Idle Transfiguration since I don't at least think any other offensive technique can interract with soul like it just by default, so it makes the user basically invurnerable plus gives one tap win, and is one of the most versitile since ability to shapesift both yourself and others in seemingly any way is ridiculous
mahito does still have to expend cursed energy to keep his soul in shape so if you have a technique that lets u avoid his one shot then u can win by cursed energy effeciency
Wasn't strong dismantle only unlocked and used by/through Mahoraga's wheel? I feel like any normal sorcerer with the Shrine technique would have a strong B or A tier technique, but nothing that's S because of the cursed energy cost of Cleave, the low impact of Dismantle, and the fact that Sukuna only learned the enhanced Dismantle through adapting to Infinity.
Technically sukuna could have done the world cutting diamental but didn t know how to do it is like he unlocking 100% of his ct potential
We already have 3 or 4 people who can withstand shrine with just RCT(gojo ,sukuna(if he got chance),hakari jackpot and probably yuta)
1. Limitless+6eyes(infinity barrier can block dismantle)
2.tenshadow(mahoraga+round deer can deal with dismantle)
3.idle transfiguration(physical dmg can be healed with this CT)
4.mimicry(depends upon user have more than one way to deal with dismantle)
5.dismantle cleave(most of the sorcerer got one shot by this)
I didn't include world cutting slash because i count that as skill not as default CT

Get a receipt for a demolition service and you can generate a massive explosion instantly. Get a receipt from a sorcerer applying their technique as a service and you're extremely OP.
Get a receipt of "buying" 100 hollow purple uses from Gojo and you can spam them at the enemy. Get a receipt of 10000 full body heals from Shoko or Yuta and you can heal faster than RCT. And imagine buying a special grade cursed tool and getting a receipt for it.
Receipt manipulation is OP and extremely creative.
But i have a question : how he create receipts ? Does he find them randomly and keep them to materialize them, or does he just make them appear and discover what he's materializing by chance?

But that means that according to his fight against Megumi, he's already bought a house, three cars, a motorcycle...etc. That sounds like a lot to me, but are you sure he's obliged to buy them? In my opinion, if he goes into a store and collects all the receipts, he'll be able to materialize them.
Well sukuna needed mahoraga for the world cutting slash witch is ten shadoes cuz he was in megumi body so that a little correction.
Here's a technique idea for a character combining Hollow Nuke, Hollow Purple, Black Flash, Chibaku Tensei, and World Slash into one technique:

Copy can only copy around 3 or 4 techniques at max, but because of Rika, Yuta can store almost any amount of CT inside Rika. But because of this he can only use them while Rika is fully manifested.

it was stated that Rika stores CT's for Yuta, but I'm not sure about the numbers, I think he's getting this from the Kenjaku Yuki fight Where she assumes a worse case of 4 CT's for Kenny saying he doesn't have an external storage like Yuta. It's also stated in the ryu and uro fight Yuta can only use copied techniques when Rika is fully manifested. I'm guessing Yuta has two techniques, because after his domain expansion Rika didn't disappear, and Rika is stated to be Yuta's CT as well as mimicry. @@Krypt0_C0in
There are no official explanation even in manga about how yuta copy ability works , we dont know how much yuta can copy ct without rika, but its true he can store the copy ability in rika because if he doesnt do this yuta brain will be fried ct is really complex thing and yuta doesnt have six eyes to help him thats why he store it in rika
We get some ideas in chapter 178, but not a lot. Yuta can't copy CT's at all without Rika. In chapter 178 it's stated Yuta's CT is Rika and while connected to Rika though his ring he can do 3 things. CT use, this is mimicry, Rika's complete manifestation, and cursed energy supply from Rika. I messed up in my previous comment Rika doesn't need to be fully manifested for Yuta to use copy just partially manifested. @@ryvaldoihma2814

Sukuna took over megumi’s body, and some time before his fight with yorozu he already tamed it offscreen. The manga just didn’t show it.
And Miwa didn’t tank uzumaki, kusakabe came and used his simple domain to limit the damage to protect Miwa

Not gonna lie but, star rage lower than the ten shadows is something i can't understand, mahoraga could probably get one shot by star rage and no other shikigami could have any chance at all, curse manipulation too, i doubt any curse could survive star rage's blows, kenjaku himself was getting holes punched trough his body because of star rage, and we know that kenjaku scales above any curse we know, but sill curse manipulation and the ten shadows are very versitile, but they don't scale to star rage in my opinion
Corrections: Comedian can be used to kill ppl, Takaba is just a pacifist so HE won't kill someone, but the ability itself could, and Mahoraga is the tenth shadow and he is tamable, it's just hard to do

Then you use the jacobs ladder.
Enemy can not use cursed energy to defend and you can just shoot them dead.
Correction: Sukuna didn't fulfill the conditions for his upgraded slash without Gojo noticing. He deemed it impossible cause eif the six eyes so he made a binding vow to launch one slash bypassing gojo's six eyes for the price that if he wants to use that ability again he will need to say the full chant & hand signs + point at the target. That's why others r dodging this slash now. It was clearly stated in the manga, how did u miss that?
