Tbh this kind of simple games have been rare these days... When I was a kid and played flash games they all explored a simple but fun gameplay mechanic. Then we switched to playing bigger and bigger games and over time those big games didn't feel so "gamey" anymore. The fun aspect of games has partly changed to immersion or competitiveness. But I think these kind of games are making a comeback! I think the best example is Vampire Survivors. I get how Pewds got so excited for this simple game, It's just good old fun with nothing extra on it :D
