- Calculator: The Game First Look - I will never pass up an opportunity to play a math puzzle game. So many of you requested this game when I played The Devil's Calculator, and now that this game's on Steam, I thought I'd check it out! I enjoy how this game's puzzles are more than just math too.

I love how this is not only not the first calculator puzzle game you’ve played, but it also has the most polar opposite vibe from the other one imaginable

If I had a nickel for every calculator game Tyler played, I’d have 2- oh, nope ok wait nevermind word just came in I would actually have 3 nickels now because of the roguelike he just played. Which STILL isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened three times.

I noticed a weird quirk in level 43. Tyler found the intended solution which is to use the new button to turn -10 into 10. But to make the -10 in the first place takes a button press. You could alternatively beat that level by pressing the +5 button three times.
i was watching this game on the tv, and when tyler got stuck in the "12" puzzle, i ACTUALLY turned around and screamed at my sibling when he got -4. i never felt so called out with the his "the people at home are screaming" comment

I’m so glad he’s playing this! I’ve played through the whole thing a while back. I’ve also played part of the sequel. Also, they’re both free on mobile, but that doesn’t really work great for a video huh?

That's the best part about these types of puzzle games, there can be multiple solutions and its super funny when you see someone elses solution and how simple it was compared to yours. I always face palm when that happens to me lol.
The fact that Tyler found this after the devil's calculator is weird for me, as I have this one downloaded on my phone from years ago. I think there are like 200 levels. Plus there is even a sequel for this one! I hope he finishes this, it's really fun.
This has the same feel as the Countdown numbers game, where you have 6 different numbers that you can only use once each to get as close as possible to the final number.

Hey tyler, have you thought about playing that Portal mod that adds time travel to it? I think it would be a fun variety game/something out of the ordinary, maybe for the patreon so the algorithm doesn't strike it down.

I love this one. Been playing it and the sequel for quite a while. I’m only 2 or 3 levels away from finishing the sequel, but I genuinely don’t get the mechanics and can’t find a guide online.
I remember this game, I tried it many years ago. It is a great game, and btw there is dark mode in setting (gear button/bottom left button)

If you hold the solar panel (probably click and hold on the steam version?) on the calculator, clicky fades out of existence just like a real life calculator

I have played this game 2 years ago now seeing you play it is cool
1:35 Tyler could have pushed those buttons in any order and showed us the most convoluted solution.
hey tyler i would LOVE to watch you play "Bombe" its a minesweeper automation game and ever since i have watched others play that game i always thought how you would love it. it asks you to make abstract rules which are then used to solve minesweeper puzzles automatically. then it stops on puzzles that it cant solve yet with only the given rules. so that you only tackle novel puzzles.... there's a lot to that game so if you could consider checking it out, i would be really glad (I'm just a fan of the game)
I'd love to see a visual representation of Tylers train of thought. Him thinking quickly is no problem, but just having audio as the main source of input is too difficult for the brain to follow along at that speed. Visual input being way easier and faster to process would give viewers an easier time following along and truly understanding the thoughts at hand.
I am pretty sure this one predates the other one by several years as i played this on a phone at least as far back as 2019.

Just a tip for games with similar dimensions as this in the future. You could segment the video in order to have it more horizontal instead of vertical. Hard to explain, but in this case have the buttons positioned to the side of the calculator interface. Just a suggestion of course :)

Ironically the one puzzle I managed to work out was the one he got utterly stuck on.
A few hours before this was uploaded, the algorithm wanted me to rewatch the other calculator video xD

SPOILER ALERT: Clicky destroys the whole world, and Dot tries to fix everything in 10 areas. It has 200 levels, where Level 200 kills Clicky, and in the normal game, Level 199 sets Clicky free.
I played this game a while ago, and I'm a math student and I'm now realizing that you could probably use graphs to represent the puzzle (not really helpful in solving it but it's neat)

I kinda don't like the fact that there's always a solution that uses all the provided buttons. Knowing this fact greatly reduces the number of possibilities to consider. For example, 4 buttons requireing 4 moves would normally have 256 combinations, but with the restriction it only has 24 combinations. Disgustingly low. In fact this is what helped me solve the level that Tyler said the viewers were screaming on.

Oh, I play this game, never finished it, still installed on my tablet and this phone, fun game, but it already has a sequel
So at 11:50 he had the answer, he had -4 on the calculator with 1 move left and there was a x-3 button which would have gotten him to 12, which was the answer he needed
