Australia in a ‘crisis state’ of homelessness

- Street Side Medics founder Dr Daniel Nour says Australia is facing a “crisis state” with homelessness.
In 2023, more than 220,000 people across the country accessed homelessness services.
“You look at the states - a city like San Francisco - it would not surprise me if in five, ten years we are exactly what the states is facing right now,” Dr Nour told Sky News host Erin Molan.
“In many ways, we are already there.”
No politician will go hungry or homeless in this country.
Society doesn't need politicians. We need AGI for government.
No but they will pay this time eventually they will get their comeuppance
Albo and his ministers eating Waygu Beef hamburgers and drinking Champagne. While genuine everyday Aussies eat dog scraps.
Come on mate that’s a bit unfair … Albo has a taxpayer funded wedding to pay for … 😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
To be fair this shitshow with inflation started way before Albo. It started with the lockdowns. He just walked into a mess and made it worse.
Disgraceful for such a wealthy country

We should never forget that the masses of "The People" have been voting in ALP and LNP longer than I've been alive, this is their own doing and I dont feel for any of them because no one gave a shit when my friends and I were turfed out of our family homes at 17/18 to figure out the world alone and were homeless for five years, Centrelink wouldn't even give us unemployment because you need a residential address to apply.
This is the peoples doing and I hate you all for doing it to me.
Albo agenda is far more important than homelessness..
Well its not surprising given that Albo gives $900 Million to PNG for a Rugby Team, $95 Million to Tuvalu incase it sinks,$40 Million to upgrade facility's for Womens Sports $470 Million for a Farcical Referendum, $450 Million for an AFL Stadium in Tas,Untold amounts to Ukraine another $450 Million for two private jets etc etc etc. All in the Space of Two Years.
+ $40 billion to build houses in the outback for a minority race!
Don’t forget Brittney Higgins 2.4 million.
Disgusting depraved degenerate lying frauds in parliament given Millions away and not caring for Australians
Sadly spot on, cost of living crisis has been caused by corporate greed, mass migration and skewed legislation that supports investors and makes housing a commodity rather than a right.
Labor can create a parliamentary secretary for "men’s behavior change" but when it comes to the homelessness largely created by their policies... what do we hear? .... crickets
It doesn't matter how many men sleep on the street, as long as they are trained not to offend women, by doing horrible things like.....looking at them, or saying hi in passing.
@@TheOzStu I can still remember the campaign they ran saying 1 in 4 homeless people are women. No fucks given about the 3 in 4 (aka men)
That's Labor's new target audience.....Chardonnay - sipping, fondue-dipping woke.virtue.signalling " yes" voters. All.homeless people are women (most are, in fact, men)....all.homelessnesis caused by violent men
Of course all the misery people are now experiencing has its origin before the may 22. Elect..

Back in depression-era America, shanty towns of displaced and homeless people were called Hoover-villes after US president Herbert Hoover. Here in Australia we are seeing Albo-villes popping up in more and more places. History repeats.
This is a direct result of elitist greed! These people are not less worthy than you, they are equally Australian citizens and deserve to have safe homes, medical and mental health care and access to jobs that make them feel valued and hopeful! "A chain is only as strong as it weakest link", some country's have lost this credo and failed! Australia was built on hard work and mateship, we cannot afford to forget that 'we all go down together'! 😠
It's Sky News who are stoking division all the way with their imported Culture Wars garbage. Elitist Murdoch knows there is no profit in the workers and disappearing middle class uniting. He even admitted in the US Courts that his "news"stations are entertainment rather than news. You couldn't discern that from most of the comments around here.

It’s called asinine tax incentives for landlords. Negative gearing, cap gains, foreign ownership. If you didn’t see this coming you’re appallingly wilfully blind.
Negative gearing encourages people to invest in housing, increasing the supply of homes. It is literally the sort of policy we need more of - right now it's much more profitable to put your money into the share market than to build houses.
@@kenreckless2757 investing in established housing doesn't increase housing supply.
@@sensaznal Correct. There should be substantial economic incentive given to people to build new homes - both for themselves as well as to increase the supply of houses for the rental market.
This in a nation that just three decades ago was known for its high home ownership levels.
I remember Kevin Rudd calling the homeless situation, a national disgrace and how he was going to address the issue when we had over 125,000 homeless people living on the streets (source: Salvation Army). Predictably, the issue was not dealt with and has continued to grow under the indifference of all political parties. We have brought thousands of people here, under a range of programs and have always been able to find 'suitable' accommodation for them all, so why can't this be done for Australians?

The governments on both sides of the house are burning taxes at a rate never before seen by we the working people. They are increasing the burden on housing , energy supply, basic infrastructure like water and sewerage and and yet they are still pushing on while we the working people pay the price. You cannot change this by voting for the same people no matter what flag they hold we must move our governments to align with what we the working people expect and want from our nation. Not what any overseas board or group or organization wants. We are constantly lied to to bring us into alignment with their policies instead of knowing the truth and making them produce policy that reflects our country first.
