- A Video made by me a long time ago as I realised that there was no official one...
Videos I used in cutting alphabetically:
01.CHRIS ISAAK = Wicked Game
02.COCK ROBIN = Just Around The Corner
03.CUTTING CREW = Died In Your Arms
04.GENESIS = In Too Deep
05.MR MISTER = Broken Wings
06.NAKED EYES = Voices In My Head
07.RICHARD MARX = Right Here Waiting
08.SIMPLY RED = If You Don't Know Me By Now
09.WILLIAM PITT = City Lights
10.ZUCCHERO = Senza Una Donna
It is quite messed up, but be kind... This was my first and only attempt.Enjoy...
My wife Michelle and I fell in love together with this tune as a backdrop in 1980. I was a rock & roll radio announcer and she was (and remains) a staggeringly beautiful woman who after 37 years still owns my heart. To hear it still makes my cry...
Beautiful story 💕🙏🏼,
Beautiful Dennis.
My wife and I of 33 years. We fell in love to this song also. I loved the original from 1980. Then in 1989 the re-recorded came out. I had just Graduated from High School that year. We had been dating a year then. She Graduated in 1990 and we married in 1991. She was 16 years old when we met. I've loved her ever since! ❤️
R.I.P. Benny Mardones...this song is one of his greatest masterpiece.
This Song NEVER gets old !!!
This song came out when I was 9 yrs old and I can safely say I have never heard anything like it. It's on a totally different wave length. It's absolutely awesome !!
I love this song.... Reminds me when I was a child and hearing it on the radio and getting a feeling of just being in a whole other world.... Hard to explain
I know exactly how u feel.
+Marie Marin probably the exact feeling that he was trying to capture with this song... shame it came out wrong with the original video..lol Although this song just moves me in a way that no other does, I can't help but wonder how he could make a video where he sings to a "minor", climbs thru her bedroom window obviously against her fathers consent and then makes out with her on a rug at the end and try to come off like he just cared for a girl that was troubled.. lol (the original vid for this song that is) I don't think he thought things through..lol
+KMurdock1974 Well he says that she's 16, maybe he's 18. Not a big difference but she's still not the age of consent.
+Marie Marin Same here. It actually caused me physical pain. I still love it.
I completely understand! ☺
This song is an eternal masterpiece, sung by the master himself. Gives me chills each time. Once in a generation voice.
Just discovered Benny. My God, what a voice!!!!!. Where has he been all my life
Where have you been?
This is such a beautiful song. You can feel the heartache in his voice.
A classic from '79!
EXCEPT HE'S FALLING IN LOVE WITH A BABY
@@samanthasawyer6013 It´s called platonic love. Just like the one teen girls develop for an adult in a position of authority, like teachers for example. For what it's worth, he never touched her.
Why is he making out with her in the video If there's no sexual feelings
I hope you are safe and well Benny, where ever you are. You managed to set millions of hearts on fire, brighten up many dark nights, forced many couples to dance together and finally many couples ended up under the same blanket because of this wonderful melody. We thank you and wish you the best.
I know exactly what you mean. My Mother was my very best friend and she and I both LOVED this song. The voice is incredible with such raw emotion. When she passed a big part of my heart and soul disappeared with her. This song helps to restore them (even if only temporary) and bring back that feeling of unconditional love that no one, but no one can have for you but your Mother. ~
It takes a lifetime to heal from the pain of the loss of your Mom. :(
Okay...I will admit I once was a dancer. This is one of the songs I always use to dance on stage to.. I love it. It brings back a lot of good memories. The first song I ever danced on stage to was Seasons Change. Hell yeah!
This is like, my favorite song of all time. Such heartfelt passion in his singing. Heard it first in 1986, and loved it ever since.
No music today could ever touch this...Never!
Rest in paradise Benny. Thoughts and prayers go out to you, Love you, brother.
He sure is. He's 61 years old now, lives in California, has a 22 year old son. Actually he performed last night in Florida. In 2002 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. In 2006 he put out his latest album "Let's Hear It For Love". Benny still has that amazing voice.
💖💖👍🏼👍🏼
I absolutely love Benny Mardones, he has the right vocal for this love song! The story is of a young sixteen year old girl who's having her heart broken by young men. He feels her hurt, her pain and he knows that there's nothing that he can do about it so, he is saying to her that he wishes that he could take her away from all of her pain for a night and show her what true love is. Of course, to guide and to protect her. Benny does sang the hell out of this song with an amazing vocal range.
+John Waters Not true. In most states the age of consent is 16. Sixteen is a go age.
***** I do not mess with teens, and I am an Alabama State Police Officer! Thanks though for your answer!
stephen dwyer I went to an indian pow wow a couple of months ago. Guess what? Out of hundreds of people there claiming to be native American only a handful looked like real indians or native Americans. Most of these want to be indians looked very scot irish & german. Some people want to be different for self esteem issues,so they look into their genealogy and find one indian relative from a hundred years ago and now wah lah they are now indians themselves. But hey, I guess you are what you think you are. I have thought about being a bear and I wonder if its is possible? HMMMM sure it is if I believe.
***** Usually people are the opposite of what they boast. Now go suck down some more french fries & hamburgers.
***** Merry Christmas. HO HO HO
Listen to this man sing!!! Mr. Benny Mardones has one incredibly sensational voice!!! His vocals run so deep! Pure from the soul!! INCREDIBLE!!! Thank you Mr. Mardones!
The ending of this song is chilling. The passion he sings with is incredible!!
CLASSIC!!!!!!! MISS THE 80'S
A voice I fell in love with a very long time ago. I still listen to Benny . Thanks for singing me to sleep every night.
This song did take me to sleep some nights
Fun fact, the backing vocalist on the track, Robert Tepper, is a charting artist in his own right, best known for his top 30 hit, "No Easy Way Out", from the movie "Rocky IV."
Pretty sure he co wrote this too
Damn he can really sing!
Lisa,
My man Benny may have had his problems in life--but he damn sure had no problem signing the hell out of this song. I could not agree with your more.
the BEST song for just about any situation u might have in ur life......I love him........Thanx, Benny for sharing.....
This guy must have a strong blues background; Its damn good, and his vocals are really fine. Quite memorable.
Terrific Song,a MUST HAVE for anyone who collects and enjoys Easy Listening/Romantic music. This generic video nor any other I've seen does it justice though.
I hope that Benny and his family are doing good and THANK YOU Benny for a wonderful song!
loved this song in 1980 and love it in 2015
+EmpressElizabeth1920 Yes, I remember it was re-released in 1989 as well and was a very huge hit at that time.
Okay... Haha I was calling in a prescription to a pharmacy this morning for a pt. at work and they put me on hold lol. This song kept playing and that's how I ended up here... True story lol I liked it for some reason😂😋
Those corny songs that play when you are on hold will get ya everytime lol.......
Maby because some older guy wants you for himself just like the song just hope your older than 16

This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written.
A BEAUTIFUL SONG that I will NEVER get tired of hearing. I absolutely love it💜💛💚💙❤
This amazing song would lift my soul at 14 yrs old! Still does decade's later.. Benny's masterpiece!
This song entails the complete package of a musical masterpiece classic, one of the greatest song ever written recorded and performed absolutely awesome unbeatable unstoppable combination together
Benny Mardones is an exceptionally talented singer/songwriter. How do you know this isn't written from the point of view of a 20 year old??? Benny was 34 years old when he sang this. The song does say "I would wait til the end of time for you". I was 18 years old when this song came out and when I see pictures of him 10 years later, I wish I was this girl.
He's 61 now and has Parkinsons. This man should have been an International Superstar!!!
The video and first line of the song is a bit misleading... Into the Night" is a song that deals in themes of abandonment and aiding, about helping to lift someone out of a tough situation. Benny Mardones said the 16-year-old girl he's singing about was named Heidi, and she lived in his apartment in Spanish Harlem. Their relationship was purely platonic, however, after her father left her mother for a young 24 year old woman, Benny looked after Heidi, along with her brother and sister. Benny would pay her $50 a week to walk his basset hound, Zanky, give her other sister money for cleaning his apartment once a week, and give her brother money to run little errands for him..."
@@uselessjoe I'm very away. Benny was one of my best friends. I manage all of his social media and his website. Marly, formerly Tabbygirl06
ONE OF THE BEST VOICES OF ALL TIMES. AND THE SONG ... OH MY.
CAN'T QUIT SINGING IT OR GET IT OUT OF YOUR HEAD. YOU ROCK BENNY. YOU ARE IN MILLIONS OF HEARTS. GOD HAS GRACED YOU WITH AN EXTRAORDINARY TALENT .
GOD BLESS YOU & YOURS. 💝
My boyfriend loves this song and plays it every weekend and now I can't get it out my head I hope it's on iTunes because I want it now 😍
This song is so amazing to chart if I'm not mistaken 3 different times. Benny you are the man. This song is timeless.
I heard this when I was in 7th grade and loved it ever since. The Dude has a KILLER voice...too bad he never had career as he can really belt out a love song. If he sang to me it would send shivers down my spine.
"She's just sixteen years old, leave her alone they say..."
In this day and age, just singing that will get you a felony.
You just got a misdemeanor mentioning it.
+jert opp lol
America will choke on it's "laws" . What the fuck are you all afraid of for Christ's sake???
Good tune
lol
So awesome that it charted twice for him. Shame most don't know his full body of work and consider him a one hit wonder. They don't know what they're missing.
this song is one of the Icons of the 80's. It has a powerful lyric and amazing music.
Simply 80's, unforgetable.
One of the best songs ever, Benny is an awesome singer.
Such passion. One of the best endings to a song. I love this guy.
Separated by fools...who don't know what love is yet.
There is an official video of this song. starring Benny himself. There is a story behind this song and it just shows that Benny is a wonderful human being.

@@peterthegreen that's good, trash talking Donald got tossed out!
Possibly the best song ever recorded!!
Master SINGER - a true, rock solid MASTERPIECE...truly, a man of supreme, God given talents...never to be equaled by anyone else, anywhere!
Benny Mardones (born November 9, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American pop singer and songwriter who is best known for his hit single "Into the Night", which hit the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart twice, in 1980 and again in 1989.
love the story behind this song, no wonder why he was blessed with a hit
I am a woman, age 38, and not extremely trusting of men who look at young girls 'that' way...but this song is actually a LOVE song, nothing perverse - just beautiful, pure, and sincere. I think the lyrics are amazingly poetic without being cheesy, and he is romantic without coming off as a desperate perv. Now that's an AMAZING feat in itself. One of the most gorgeous love songs ever written, and one of the best vocalists ever. Such raw emotion, straight from the heart. Timeless.
Bennie Mardone began the 80s with this and the FM jocks brought this back to close out the 80s.!!! Love those days
This song is a living classic! Never gets old.
Ive been looking for this song for a long time also and I couldnt find it anywhere until I heard it late at night on a random radio station. Awesome music!
Excellent video and a wonderful tribute to Benny's song! Thank you!!! Now let's get Benny back into the NIGHT!!! He has a My Space page and is still doing small concerts!
i really love how the chorus is only played twice during the main part, and not overdone. then its plentiful at the end of the song and everything flows so great.
The 70's & 80's produced such awesome music ! This is one of the songs. Thx 4 posting, AnNaViDsGr.
This song takes me "Into the Night" by the time he is finished. What intensity!!!
Too bad today's music is slaughtered. I could listen to this all day long.
Todays generation music is crap. Todays is about money, looks, fame with no talent
I AM listening to 80s all day! 🤗💃

True 👍
Good Classics never die out, even though it is 2008. Good love song for that special someone!
Benny is amazing and shows howto be connected to a woman with respect!!!!
I've always loved his music since THE very first I heard his song INTO the nigh back in 1980 I myself was 16beautiful song awesome voice
Classics will never be replace!
Just love this song and the video too. A genius composition. Thanks for sharing.
For those wondering, the other musicians are backing vocalist Robert Tepper, guitarists Ron Bloom and Bobby Massaro, bassist Leigh Foxx, drummer-percussionist Sandy Gennaro, and keyboardist Kinny Landrum.
This is a great song Benny R.I.P.🙏🏽
I love this song it is my wedding song. I was also 16 and he was 20 when we met. Illegal maybe but it was true love, we've been together 15 years and counting.
You are blessed to have been one of a handful that the love is true 🙏
Me too! I was 3 months from turning 16, he was 21. 1st guy I hid from my parents (understandable why they forbid it). He and I dated about a year, separated for over 20 years, we found each other again in 2013 and have been married ever since. This song came out when I was 16.
I remember sitting with my left ear on the speaker of my faux wooden clock radio next to bed, in 1980, waiting for this song to come on to the only FM radio station we had in our area. If my parents had found me doing this after my bedtime, they'd have taken the clock radio away, but I had to hear it one more time. I was 13.and in love for the first time. I also couldn't fathom being 16. It was a far off, magical age that brought your your first driver's license. Where did that girl go? :-)
I was only 16 years old when this song was rereleased in 1989. One night, I was with this one guy who was 19 and when this song played that night, he sang it to me. Memories 💜
Dayna Vigil-Griego are you from San Antonio
Pretty sure it was released in 1980.
It was released first time 1980 reached Top 20 .........1989 hitting top 20 again!! If there was a 3rd release now, I'm sure Benny would be smiling in heaven. RIP🙏💖
genial, acá en Chile no saben apreciar un clásico eterno, que aparecen rara vez, benny genial.
why can't i live in the 80's
+Nacha Lovato because it is gone
@John McCarron... Agreed!
the 70's was awesome.... music wise
i know i wish i could . i do not like the2000s.

I just move from New York to Riverside' I was a new man in CA. me and my Ex wife calling a quite broken Heart. so I was very lonely and very far away from my sweet heart. I decide to go back to her but there was noting to with are relationship.

He's in the Heavenly Choir singing to the Father with the others Greats into the night 🌙 🎶
Very touching ending vocals ahhhhh.......
I can feel in my heart
I knew Benny and his band when I WAS 16 years old through a good friend with a recording studio. Hes a good man.
Always loved this song just so powerful to me .. I always find myself blasting it and singing my heart out lol
Song is about a girl that lived in the building in the Bronx. Her and her brother had parents that were there, but not. He use to give them chores and pay them, this help keep them fed and clothed. He was stuck trying to write a song, he was on the stairs and she walked by hence " she is just 16 years old , leave her alone" he was her protector and savior at the same time. Very deep.
Ok stop freaking out soy boy.@@georgepappas45
Benny has two more pretty good relatively unknown songs such as 'Too Young' and She's So French.'
wow i love going back to a time when life seemed so simple and the music seemed so real. This had to be one of the greatest if you loved someone. Thanks for giving me a moment of my youth again.
This video is so much better than the official one! Excellent!
Julio Hernandez
UGH!! I agree with you 100%
The love interest in this video does not look or act 16.... This is a romance song .... Not a girl in a fruit roll up dress
None really do the song justice as the back story never matches the lyrics
The very first time I seen this creation for the song, I thought it was the actual video for the song. This was put together beautifully!! Still in love with this song. Took me forever to find it!!
No.
The mans a legend and love the story behind the song too. Fantastic clip, cheers for sharing!
Very nicely done. You have a talent that's for sure. Beautiful song and you can tell the guy really loves her Even if it's kind of Forbidden. I am going to apply this to guitar and do it in a Torch setting. I was thinking of this song today and looked it up for a reference point....Thanks for posting.
Imagine having this as a ringtone XD
For real! Only time I'd enjoy hearing my phone ring!😂
Thanks so much for putting this video together for this song! It's one of my most favorite songs ever! It's simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing it!
I love this song !
From what I understand, Benny’s wild, wounded animal vocalizing was part of the demo track, because they had no saxophonist, but he thought he’d vocalize the sax riffs. The managers couldn’t get enough of the vocalizing and kept Benny’s voice in the final track rather than find a saxophonist to do those riffs. It’s sure hot, isn’t it!
one of the greatest love songs EVER
Anna...thanks for such a beautiful compilation of this video...you are right, it was missing. What beautiful lyrics! Wish there were more guys who are like this song says and who would believe in love so strongly, don't we all see, it's disappearing so fast!!!
