I actually took the time to watch the whole MAMA and oh my, that was a clown fiesta. I mean, everyone knows the whole show is rigged - it's just funny at this point.
Some performances were actually so amazing. PSY saved the whole MAMA. CL brought the fire and the choreo for Run is so cool!
I kinda wanna say I regret watching the whole show, but the fact that we got the most iconic collab in history of kpop, pet shop boys and xf (oh my god... it's 2 letters..).. .mindblowing.

Yeah~ Kpop in general depends a LOT on the hype factor, especially at big shows like MAMA. Since the audience didn't know them and their music didn't really fit with the rest...it was pretty uncomfortable to watch. Poor f(x)...they did their best tho!

Kinda sad that a 6 hour show (4 hours + 2 hour pre show) can be boiled down to a 6 minute highlight video.
+MsAsh3070 tbh it was kind of boring :/ the things that were interesting for me were the performances of BTS, Got7, Seventeen, EXO, Big Bang and CL plus the surprise perf of 2NE1 and Seungri sitting on Sehun's lap
Natz Gabuyo Yeah as someone who's not that into YG or boy groups (I mean I like the occasional song but I'm not mad about them), I was really unimpressed. Over the 4 hour main show there were only SIX performances by female groups/soloists (2ne1, Taeyeon, Ailee, Jessi, F(x) and Hyuna). I don't understand why TaeTiSeo were there if Taeyeon was the only one performing and they had a showcase the next day. I don't understand why they couldn't let Red Velvet or Twice perform seeing as they were there - the show started 2 hours late and Red Velvet missed their flight to Europe. Their whole schedule was messed up. Was it worth it, how much time did they get? They got a whopping 2 minutes out of the entire 6 hours. And yet they were bashed for having left early.
+MsAsh3070 I think it because RV and TWiCE were only confirmed to go there few hours before the event starts so they couldn't have time to prepare a stage... and also, although I'm a YGstan, I feel like iKon performed a little too much... tbh mnet just care about sm and yg, got7 and bts deserve more than a plain borring stage (sorry bad english)

And what about Gfriend, CLC, The Ark, Oh My Girl, Playback, Goo Hara, Lizzy, Hello Venus, Brown Eyed Girls, Lovelyz, Lim Kim, Shannon Williams, Minah, Cheetah, Crayon Pop, Laboum, Mamamoo, EXID, Apink, BoA, Girls' Day, IU, KARA, Sistar, AOA, 9Muses, Sonamoo, Wonder Girls etc. etc.
It's not like there was a shortage of notable girl group debuts, solo debuts and comebacks this year.
And I'm not an iKon stan to be honest but I do feel as if EXO, iKon and Big Bang took over the whole show. It's not that Mnet care about SM - Taeyeon got one song where Big Bang got 3 or 4, Super Junior weren't there, I don't recall Shinee performing, Red Velvet ddn't perform, F(x) performed but only with Pet Shop boys at their request otherwise they weren't invited. Mnet is completely YG biased and tbh it's really annoying.

Why isn't JYP playing the piano with his foot a hot topic? I've heard about most of the other things but nobody enjoyed the foot performance. That's definitely a highlight. He may have scarred his kids for life (poor got7 and twice) but he slayed that piano. Lol. I swear I laughed nonstop and all of JYP's cuts.
