This episode of Glee aired my sophomore year of high school and I'm not a big fan of Glee but I fell in love with this song, and to be honest I had no idea who One Direction was until right after the song ended on Glee I looked it up and I listened to 1D's version. Then I started to look up more of their songs and I fell head over heels in love with 1D! This episode of Glee turned me into a Directioner!
I think that as someone who is so incredibly in love with both One Direction and Glee, I can definitely tell a difference in the actual music in the song. The Glee version was definitely great for prom and is totally the party song while One Direction's version is the swoon type that you put on on a sunny day or at the beach. It might just be me but I think that Glee did a great job of making it their own. I love both versions

So acknowledging that you're a beautiful person makes you...not beautiful? What kind of twisted logic is that? It doesn't make someone a conceited beast to be aware of their good qualities. You can be physically attractive and still be a good person. :\ I know, I get it. The poor beautiful girl has low self esteem and he's being a white knight and it's supposed to be a cute song, just...it rubs me the wrong way. Goddamn why must this song be so catchy?
