Ever since I was a kid growing up in North Philly I was fascinated by old pictures of my neighborhood. So as a lifelong resident of NORTH PHILLY. I will be treating the streets as my map and freezing our precious moments in history.

This was shot on my iPhone 7 Plus in 1080 X 1920 HD. However I will be working on getting a better camera just for this project so make sure to stay TOON!

Why do you zoom through the prettiest streets and take your time through the ugliest places?
I was always amazed by the narrow streets. Hard for cars to get around others
They were meant for horses not cars

Thanks for taking time to comment on the video. Well closing the windows would of been pointless because the camera is on top of the vehicle with a suction cup. Anyway this was only 1 of like 17 tours that I did with a cellphone on top of the car. The rest are done with a action camera on the roof of the car and the action camera has a wind reduction housing which helps out a little but doesn’t completely reduce the noise.The action camera also provides a wider views which looks a lot better in my opinion because it shows more of the view. I love it when you drive by and you hear people talking and yelling. That makes the neighborhood tour more interesting.

The playlist I just copied and pasted has South Philly , South West philly, West philly, North East Philly. North philly and East Philly. And I have yet to cover the whole city. But I’ve been capturing it little by little. So when you say avoiding it I found that priceless. Cuz I wheelie thru it on my bike 😂😂😂🙏🏽 I have family that lives on 9th and clearfield. Right Kensington is not north philly it's still northeast philly territory north philly is past Kensington

I Will say them neighborhoods didn't look too bad, streets are a bit small and cramped but least its nicer looking them some parts here in philly

Some of those side streets need pavement repairs although Philly streets appear in better shape than in most other older northern cities. Otherwise the neighborhood doesnt look all that rundown or destitute. It is just a blue collar, working class hood trying to get by.

Back in the 70s and early 80s this was a strong working section and it still looks better then some areas you film. How about you go to the Fairmount section of Philly because it's the best area in all of the neighborhoods between 20th and Parrish down to 25th and Parrish then from Fairmount ave to poplar. I grew up their and it still looks good after 30 years when I moved to Indiana.
This area had metal thinhs all over houses and drug addicts everywhere how is it better

Yes yes yes one of the biggest things that I hate most about my city. I could deal with the crime, can’t deal with the pot holes 😂😂😂😂😂😂🙏🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽 enjoy your day
Well compared to most other old northern cities, Philadelphia's streets are not all that bad. Cities like Buffalo, Cleveland, and Detroit have much worse streets with potholes and utility cuts that will literally wreck your car or pickup truck.
My old neighborhood spent 25 years until I moved to Jersey and you didn't even go up Reach and Ontario.

Not all of Philadelphia is bad there are many nice, well kept areas in the city.
I worked along Alleghany and I saw very little of Alleghany; especially from F to Kensington. Had you slowed down in that area you would have been videoing many drug deals. Not really impressed with this presentation.
Marie ODowd this presentation isn’t designed to impress you. It’s for my documentation purposes to when I reach a old age like you I can look back on where I came from. But if you want more of this neighborhood I have over 1000 videos on my channel. Over 220 of them are “Philadelphia Hoods” tours covering South Philadelphia, Southwest Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, North Philadelphia, Northeast Philadelphia and Center City Philadelphia. There’s a dozen more drive throughs of this neighborhood. But catching “drug” deals was not my goal. Even tho there are several captured in other videos....the purpose was to capture the essence of what the philadelphia once was in my time. Have a good day and thanks for sharing your thoughts
You should do a tour of all the best weed spots. Fairhill and Luzerne 5th and Glenwood so on & so on.
