Thanks some good info here I haven't had new grass to cut in a very long time. Guess I better hold off using that California Trimmer I just picked up 😊
Hey Kyle, great video! We recently just finished a project in my front yard and this was helpful. I wish I had found it a little sooner. What are your thoughts on mowing after 3 or 4 weeks of growth? I’ve never had lawn that is so full before so this is all a little new to me!
The frequency of mowing is highly debated. Some people say you can’t mow it enough, others say let it grow to 5” before you get on it. Unless you’re mowing short, I’d say let it get 1” above your desired HOC and then you can maybe start weekly mowing. I have never applied fungicides to any of my renovation or overseeding projects. Congrats on being so close! It’s an exciting time!
I know this video is old but hope you can answer this question. I'm at the exact point as you were in this video. I'm about to mow the same way. But question for you, do does dark patchy areas fill in after a while? Or you had to throw seed to fill them. I'm deciding if I should or not. Examples in 4:13
Without a picture, I can’t tell for sure but I’d generally recommend waiting to put more seed down. Keep mowing and let your fall fert push the lawn along.
@@TheLawnMentor Sorry, I was meaning the patchy areas on your lawn. Like the ones on the time stamp 4:13. If you did or didn't that will help me make my decision. Thanks for the quick response
Lawn looks great
Thanks dude!

I suppose it’s the length that matters - you don’t want it to be so long it’s flopping over on itself!
Looks great Kyle. I actually have some experience with manual reel mowers lol .
Oh I know! I’ve seen them videos 👊🏻👍🏻
Looks great! Would you recommend collecting the clippings, or is it OK to leave them on the new lawn?
Totally up to you. Whatever you prefer for this cut!
Looks really good Kyle! 🔥
Thanks but how about the grass!
@@TheLawnMentor really? 🤦🏻♂️🤣

Hi Kyle. First time viewer and new subscriber. Look forward to watching more videos.
Welcome!!! Happy to have you here
how tall my new grass should i mow for the first time.
How often do you mow once your seed is sprouted? Also, do you apply any fungicides? Thanks! I’m 3 weeks in my renovation!

New guy here!
Welcome!! So happy to have you 😀
So guess what... I bought myself a pair of grey crocs. Lol nice
You, my good sir, are a boss. 👊🏻
First 😁
Figured the reel mower would catch your eye 👁 😉
You have wait 8 weeks before you cut new grass from seed
Why?
No, you don’t.
Let the roots get down that's why😊
False

@viccou that clip was after seeding and I did not apply any additional seed. Looks great and thick today
@@TheLawnMentor awesome, that helps. Thanks 👍🏾
