@Pranav Vaishnave You have to get lucky with their encounters in each non-ocean Route across Johto. Once you find them they're in the Pokedex so you can track them with that and you have a high chance of finding them when they are present. They run as soon as you attack so make sure you have something that's fast enough to get a False Swipe in before it does. It'll be much easier to catch that way. Using Max Repels with a Level 40-ish Pokemon leading the party to repel weaker Pokemon helps.

As for save files go, you're lucky if you have a saving Pokemon Gold/Silver cartridge since the day it was manufactured. Always remember; the clock is ticking even when you aren't using it.
It seems that you obtained of the "better" Pokemon Crystal cartridges where the save file lasts for over a decade. I had a Pokemon Gold cartridge that eventually didn't save my progress anymore, although I luckily have a copy where the battery has been lasting since I replaced it in late December, 2010.
You require all 3 in your possession - not necessarily in your party - to trigger the event. If you lose any one of them, the event gets locked off again. Your only hope now is trading, or less legitimate means. Last resort, starting again. RIP.
Thats why I rarely transfer old gen Pokémon to newer games. Just to know that I have the possibility to transfer them if I really need them is enough for me.

Both. Since you usually need a Pokémon holding the item to perform it. But I just tried it on VC Crystal and it wouldn't let give a Poke a Key Item so it won't be that.
Give a Pokemon the master ball and put it in a box. After doing so, go to change boxes and select a new box. Before it saves turn it off and restart ( or you can softreset).
Use max repel with your party leader above lv 18 but below 40. Run around route 38, 35, or 36 using a max repel in each area. Then fly back above 38 and try it again. Everytime you fly the roamer moves a location. So you try it again.. took me 4 tries.. about 30 min to get both

Weird. I've managed to get the event to trigger again when I cheated myself in another Legendary Big Cat. (Forced wild encounter then Master Balled it)
ugh lugia was annoying because of recover. protip to catching lugia: save before him (of course) and try to catch him before he uses all his rain dance PP cuz he loves to prioritize rain dance over recover. once his rain dance PP is gone, it becomes extremely difficult to get him to 1 hp as he keeps using recover.
It doesn't really matter how much care your Pokémon Silver gets. You can take care of it all you want, but the save file is guaranteed to get erased eventually.
It's not impossible because on the VC Edition, Master Balls are among the things I've cloned. I've also cloned Rare Candies, evolutionary stones, most of the good TMs you can't buy, and Amulet Coins. The timing is different in Crystal than in Gold and Silver. In Gold and Silver you reset when it pops up with "POW". In Crystal you reset roughly half a second after the final period point after "POWER"
@@Gravity_cat well I don't want to take a risk to do it, I ever lost my master ball once when doing it. But in the gold, I can reset when "SAVING..." and it works

The fix was catching a Pokémon and sending it to the box, which stabilised it enough to release the problem 'mons. It's best to do it when it pops up in the middle of "POWER", so "POW" which might be why you're experiencing problems; your timing is wrong.

+Erik Durling Kanto Legendary Birds, by trade or cheat. Mewtwo Egg probably through the same glitch as the Celebi Glitch. Level 40 Pokemon with False Swipe, cut their health down to 1HP. Then replace with another Level 40 Pokemon with Spore. Keep checking the 'Dex and use a Repel when one is in your area.
any tips on catching entei without having seen him before? ive been stumbling around trying to swap between two areas to try and draw entei out but i cant seem to find him. As i said i havent even seen him yet so i cant use the pokedex :c i have the other two i just need this pain in the ass.. x|
Unfortunately you'll have to keep stumbling around trying to find him. This was addressed in the remakes, where they're tracked on the Pokégear map whether or not you've seen them before.
use a max repel or super repel to avoid any other pokemon. The legendary dogs will still pop out when you use repel and keep switching between two different routes.
***** Save the game with 20 max repels (best number in my opnion) and search. If you dont find him, turn off and go back so you still have 20 repels and dont need to keep spending money. If I am unsucessful I fly to another city and bike around and train a little bit ( mt silver, or anywhere). Then go back and try again.

Edit: You can catch the Legendary Beasts before the E4. Provided you have the legendary beasts in your ownership, you can catch Ho-oh as soon as you beat the E4. As in as soon as spawning outside your house after the credits.

i got the other dogs by cheats but it depends what cheat you get. minde would appear at lvp 40 and run away but were still cheats after i caught those it let me do it fine.
He duplicated a Pokemon that had a master ball attached to it. It's called duplicate glitch. Though I don't think that you can do it in the French version of the games.

The 3 dogs have to be caught in THAT game. You cannot trade them over.

Actually I used cheats to catch the legendary beast and the ho-oh event was still triggered.
85 Masterballs,You won the lotery a lot of times jeje
you can actually clone you pokemon and your masterballs without codes you know. and its really easy
this will help me solve the game, and be able to catch Ho-oh again. My tard-brained sister defeated Ho-oh when i wasnt playing my game and she saved it afterwards. I was soooo mad when she did also.

that happen to my pokemon sliver(lucky somebody left their game in my house & forgot who lol) I would luv to play pokemon sliver but everytime i saved it, it already reset a new game, somebody didnt take care of their game smh
