I'm a blindness rehab specialist and am trained in One Touch, which is Krav Maga modified for blind folk; its the only functional martial art made specifically by/for the blind. It relies on maintaining contact because even as a master echolocator proper weapon use isn't just difficult its extremely dangerous to the user and becomes even more dangerous the more sensitive your touch and /or hearing are, and/or the more skilled you become with echolocation. All that sensory input is not just overwhelming but it also covers the details you need in a fight. Fights should be brutal and efficient if you hope to survive one. not pretty or fancy. I know its a show for sighted folk despite being all about blindness but it still messes with me since the National Federation of the Blind reached out to consult since they are blind themselves and didn't want a show this cringey to them and they went with this instead. lol
