Same logic can be applied for today but with Brock Lesnar. Probably the only guy in WWE who could give some competition if that were the case would be Bobby Lashley
My favorite story about Kurt Angle is when HHH once complained that Kurt shouldn’t be champion because of his height. Either Gerald Brisco or Pat Patterson responded by simply saying to HHH, “well why don’t you go try to fight him then?” Needless to say, HHH didn’t say much else.
I think kurt could've been a ufc champion back in the early days if he did that instead of pro wrestling, he was an incredibly talented amateur wrestler
With Haku, when your boss is too afraid to fire you and the entire lockerroom is scared of you, that should naturally put you at the top of any list with maybe only Brock Lesnar questioning your position
@@Dave_ja_vu Nobody knows, they tried to get Dan and Tom in the same room once but before they could both enter the room imploded from critical masculinity.
Dan Severn may be a foot note in WWE, but an undisputed legend in UFC. He was doing legit suplex city on guys and was called the Beast long before Brock was on the scene.
@Juji-Gatame Let's talk about Brock Lesnar's P.E.D. abuse, which is "cheating." How many times was Severn caught doping? None. I rest my case. Severn is the overall better fighter -- definitely for his era, and I would say even in his prime. When you look at how well the 39-year-old Dan Severn held his own against the 32-year-old Mark Coleman (despite losing to Coleman), that gives you some sense of how skilled Severn was in his prime. Lesnar has relied more on his size and strength than his skill -- and when that began to fail him -- he took P.E.D.s. A week before his fight against Mark Hunt, Lesnar "ridiculed" Jon Jones for testing positive for P.E.D.s, even though Lesnar himself was actively doping at the time he made that statement. Severn began competing in MMA at age 36, and his record is 101 wins, 19 loses, and 7 draws. Lesnar began MMA at age 29. His MMA fight record is 5 wins, 3 losses, and 1 overturned victory (disqualification) for doping. Overall, Severn has a more impressive "legacy" in the sport than Lesnar does. Lesnar didn't have enough fights to really "prove himself" as one of the all-time greats. Severn did.
He was supposed to be on the ultimate fighter season 10. If couture, DC etc were known for their elite level wrestling, just imagine an Olympic gold level grappler? Yea. Good luck stopping that takedown
Victor Stronbow That’s nothing. The fact that the Ravishing One finished his last match with two blown vertebrae is the only reason anyone needs to point to that he should be on this list.
@Ziad Khaled Bail bondsmen basically make a loan to an accused criminal in order for them to pay their bail and be released. The bondsman then carries a financial responsibility, that the accused will show up to court hearing. If he doesn't show up, the bondman hires a bounty hunter to track the accused down. Of course, bail bondsman can be a bounty hunter at the same time.
Haku in his prime was someone you did not want to mess with. That is why the narrator of this video said MOST wrestlers when asked who the toughest wrestler you didn't want to mess with was Haku. A real BADASS.

I met Haku in an airport when I was like 4-5 years old. My brother ran up to him and bothered him haha. But I remember his demeanor was super patient and he was very very nice to us! He looked absolutely fucking enormous in person as well
I saw Haku walking into my HS gym when I was about 12. I was at soccer practice right outside the gym and my stupid 18 year old soccer coach yelled “it’s fake”. My father is the same size as haku if you went by height and weight. But haku was scary looking big with a chest that looked like over inflated monster truck tires. He looked like he was about to fight my stupid soccer coach. Luckily both of them stayed in their lanes and Haku only intimidated the idiot and the soccer team. He was so much more scary in person. On the other hand Rene Goulet was at the same event and friends of mine met and played tennis with him, he turned out to be a really friendly guy who interacted with locals who were not even wrestling fans. I wish I met him even though he was a jobber on the down side of his career at this point. We would sometimes get a UHF channel from Quebec/ Montreal in French.. or maybe it was a French speaking Toronto station (who knows) and though it was in French I would watch wrestling on that station and Rene Goulet would be on every week on that station. Ok I got off topic, just remembering my childhood wrestling memories from when I lived in Rural NY state.
Haku was a good person je would not have hurt child or people not responsible, only time i heard he snap, was being bother by people who should know better , and Haku plus alcool bad combination but in almost every story i heard he gave plenty of warning . 😂😂😂

@douglascolby2908 it's what Chris Benoit, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle etc... have all done in matches. A belly to back Suplex, but they don't let go. They do 3 in a row.
Honorable mentions: Mike Rotunda was NCAA Division I EIWA champion in the heavyweight wrestling division, and a starter on the football team for Syracuse. He has consistently been mentioned as both one of the nicest, and tough, wrestlers of his era. Raymond Rougeau was a two-time Golden Gloves boxing champion. Both are quite, nice guys, but, according to Jim Ross, could kick anyone's ass. If you look at the Varsity Club of the late 1980s, with Rotunda, Steve Williams and Rick Steiner, you see the rare occurrence of a team of true badasses.
I think there was a fair few guys of that time with amateur/college wrestling, boxing, and sports backgrounds. Marty Jannetty liked to play the goofball, but was an excellent amateur wrestler and boxer, and good enough to get into college to wrestle. Duggan was a top high school wrestler and college footballer who was signed for the Falcons. Not saying they'd win a modern MMA bout but I bet legitimately tough guys.
I love how haku is super old now and people are still terrified of him...can you imagine having to be his caregiver in a nursing home? Id be legit terrified

Dan Severn carried the NWA heavyweight title to the ring at the height of his time in the UFC. How the powers that be at the time in professional wrestling didn't make a bigger deal of that is a mystery to me.

Great list, lads! Although, I think Rick Rude deserved an honourable mention. Apparently, Hogan refused to work with him in the world title picture because he was genuinely afraid of him!
Rick Rude beat the crap out of the Warrior so yeah Rick Rude is a legit badass and btw is the only one ever to appear in both WCW and WWE at the same time
@Truth Seeker So Lesnar is the "tougher" guy because "he did it for his family"? Sorry but that's not what the list was about. It's been said by MANY wrestlers who worked backstage with Lesnar that he was a straight up dick and when he finally got himself into a scenario that would turn ugly he backed down. Rick Rude was KNOWN to get into those kinds of situations AND come out on top of them. Doesn't matter if he had a family he was doing it for or not. I give Lesnar credit for his UFC work. He is "tough" just not the kind of tough that should go on this list.
What about Bob Backlund? I read the reason Vince Sr. kept him as champ was that, not only was he an absolute fitness fanatic, he had legit amature skills that nobody would mess with.
He also had freakish natural strength, like Danny Hodge. Like Brock Lesnar, Dr Death and the Steiners, he could pick up and throw around anyone, whether they wanted him to or not
Jericho could be an honorable mention considering he was willing to confront Lesnar when he thought the elbows on Orton weren't part of the script. That takes balls.
@Sniper480 I've read that he is a douche, threatened to shoot on top guys if he didn't get pushed. Stuff like that, but still anecdotal But I have seen tapes of him doing king of the deathmatch in Japan where he gets pissed that his opponent is being too stiff and he just straight up shoots on the guy and starts fucking him up like it was a real fight.

He got a blackbelt in under 2 years apparently. While I have no doubt he's a great grappler IRL, and obviously a very large and scary individual, you cannot earn a blackbelt in 2 years, period. The fact that he got it under a Gracie is especially disgusting because it's just watering down what used to a great name. Just for example, it took me 3 years to make blue belt, and even then I felt like it was too early and I wasn't good enough. For comparison sake: Famously young and badass dude BJ Penn took 3 and a half or so years to get to black belt (and rightfully earned the name THE PRODIGY cause it was so unheard of). He was the first ever BJJ world champ that wasn't brazilian, that's how good he was to get blackbelt that fast. Joe Rogan, a dude with a day job that has even more free time than Undertaker started BJJ in 1996 under Machado (according to a video of his I just watched) and got his black belt from Jean Jacques in 2012. And you're gonna tell me a 40 some year old man with basically zero free time earned it in two years? Nah.

You really should have Mark Calaway on here, regardless of the lack of outside stuff from wwe, he spent 30 years straight there. The truth is there are people on this list that were and are afraid of him and would not have messed with him in the locker room.
Mark Calaway is the single scariest old man I've ever seen. And considering he used to run with Haku, I'd say he deserves a spot for sure even if theres not as many stories of him losing his temper
Jupp! You don't have a that long career in Wrestling without being scarily tough. Even in the end, absolutely ancient in wrestling terms, he was stronger and better than most of the younger guys. Even though he is retired now, in a real fight, he could probably whup the ass of most of the roster today. He is that good, that fight smart, and that strong. And he can take a beating and keep on fighting like no one else. His stubborn refusal to ever lose is legendary.
Good shout. Whenever someone needed to be straightened out or if there was an issue Mark seemed to be the guy to turn to. It was almost like a unwritten rule in the locker room- don't fuck with Mark.
Shawn Michaels was aware that Undertaker taped his fists in case Michaels did not do the honors for Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14. And he was part of a group that included Yokozuna, Godfather Charles Wright, Savio Vega, Rikishi Fatu, and Henry Godwin, the Bone Street Krew.
A lot of old time wrestlers say Andre The Giant was a legitimate tough guy in his prime that's why he earned the locker room nickname "boss". Also others have said Bob Backlund, Harley Race, Bad News Brown (Allen Coage), Bob Orton Jr, Terry Funk and many others were as well. Maybe they should have made two lists for this because MMA wasn't around years ago one from the modern era and one from the old school era where being a tough guy was determined in the bar and by your fellow wrestlers that challenged you.
@@robthornton72 Yes he was. But in his prime there were none tougher than Andre. I don't think even Coage or Haku would have challenged "the Big Boss" back then.

I love Angle, he's the kind of guy who doesn't start crap but he'll finish it. He also doesn't throw many punches, but he'll lock your body down until you tap.
I suppose it's natural the list be tilted towards the younger crowd, both because of weighing success in MMA (pretty recent) and because we tend to forget older wrestlers. But I think the list needs to include Bruiser Brody and Lou Thesz. Lou Thesz worked at a time where many bouts could end in shoots if someone didn't want to lay down or lose a title.

If I remember that story correctly, it was Pat Patterson.
I think kurt could've been a ufc champion back in the early days if he did that instead of pro wrestling, he was an incredibly talented amateur wrestler

Severn had body odor like rotten cheese 🧀
Dan Severn may be a foot note in WWE, but an undisputed legend in UFC. He was doing legit suplex city on guys and was called the Beast long before Brock was on the scene.
Dan Severn was a better wrestler than Brock Lesnar was. If both men were in their primes, I'd give Severn a 30% edge over Lesnar in an MMA fight.
Dan is a bad man
His name was Anthony Macias, and he got a 1 way ticket to suplex city courtesy of Dan Severn
@Juji-Gatame I’m talking about these fighters in their “primes.”
Severn did.

I met Dan Severn once me gave me a t-shirt and signed it to me and for me. The beast 💪
Dan Severn was one of the kindest celebrities I've met. I know he could kick my ass but he is a friendly dude.
Big Van Vader aka Leon White. Has gotta be one of toughest ever. Took out several state troopers and could barely be arrested lol.
Dan Severn looks like Mayor Hagar from Final Fight
Lol. Awesome comparison
Yeah yeah
He really does...lol
he looks like freddie mercury on steroids
Best comment award🥇🏆
I love Angle, he's the kind of guy who doesn't start crap but he'll finish it. He also doesn't throw many punches, but he'll lock your body down until you tap.
I suppose it's natural the list be tilted towards the younger crowd, both because of weighing success in MMA (pretty recent) and because we tend to forget older wrestlers. But I think the list needs to include Bruiser Brody and Lou Thesz.
Lou Thesz worked at a time where many bouts could end in shoots if someone didn't want to lay down or lose a title.
Both tough guys but neither worked for WWE
@@HAVOCJKD Actually Bruise worked for McMahon Sr in 70's
I’ve actually had the pleasure of meeting Haku at a meet and greet as a kid. Now I knew nothing about him at the time and certainly not of his reputation but I must say I do remember him being nothing but a gentleman and I hope he’s well
To be honest if the list is based on outside sporting events with the best record then number one has got to be Dan Severn. 101 wins out of 120 + fights that says it all.
Based on Outside Events, Andre the Giant #1 how is he not on the list. WWE/ WWF / WWWF Same Fucking Promotion.
A 68 year dory funk kicked Severn's ass so bad after a show he had get cops escort him out the building so no
@@phillbarlow125 And without any documentation showing this it's all rumor and innuendo. My comment was based on facts not any stories said by so and so. Not saying it didn't happen just got to go by the facts as they stand.
Andre The Giant was terrified of Haku. When Andre is afraid of someone, u know they’re the real deal.
Mazhar Imam have you watched “who Andre didn’t like”?
Mazhar Imam search it on TH-cam and watch it.
Shit that's sayin something.
“Lets not pretend ronda can’t beat 75% of the modern wwe lineup, male, or female”
Ok, Let’s not... Please stop talking as if she could, We have to stop pretending.
I Initially gave It a thumbs down cause of that BS at the beginning but the list turned out pretty good so I left It unrated- only drawback too many others were not mentioned -many other posters have pointed that out
Ever since Hornswoggle left, Ronda lost her chance to beat any male wrestler on the roster.
From what Boom Boom Mancini said on Inside MMA, Roddy Piper is a legit badass. No only a bit crazy but excellent boxer and BJJ practitioner. Mancini and Bas Rutten were quite complimentary.
Piper learned the wrestling business the hard way. Been beaten several times a week in shoot wrestling matches.
Didn't Lesnar admit that Kane was the most toughest guy on the roster?
Yep
not toughest, he said "Strongest" Kane used to beat everyone i arm wrestling
@@abhinandanwason7852 im just quoting what Brock allegedly was saying
I believe it I mean look at the frame of a Prime Kane.....Genetic Fucking Freak!
@@lordeddardstark4471 I think I have read about Kane being the strongest guy and that he would lift more than anyone else as well.
Lesnar wasn't cut from the NFL at "the last moment" he was cut from the second game of preseason with 2 more games to go 🤷♂️🤦♂️
He was the last guy
Have you read his book?
No he wasn't. I watched EVERY preseason game and he was one of the final cuts before the end of camp. Coach Tice loved him and wanted to develop him but practice squad's didn't exist yet and the only place he could go to be developed with the Vikings holding onto his rights was NFL Europe which they offered him,he declined their offer.
Been a Vikes fan my entire life. You don't know what you're talking about AT ALL.
Injuries
Brock combine was almost identical to JJ Watt and Brock had broken ribs from a motorcycle accident
@@shawnfisher4710 Broken ribs and he tore his groin. The man is a BEAST!
Remember that time Sting no sold a legit shot from a baseball bat to the face?
what?!
@@sMASHsound During his time in TNA. He was supposed to catch a bat swing from Kurt Angle but missed. He reacted by smiling and taking the bat out of Kurt's hands. It can be seen on the Kurt Angle TNA DVD.
@@bjchit damnnnnn,
i just looked at it... damnnnnnnnnnnnn. he didnt catch it correct, and it slipped in exactly on his face.... kurt was prolly thinking he cracked his skull open, cause u heard it hit....
@eddie Dickens i wish wrestling was less scripted, and more real, so u can actually see how capable some of them really were.
like a no script kurt angle vs lesnar... back in the day. cause they were both amazing college wrestlers.
Dr Death was also the NCAA heavyweight runner up in wrestling his senior year. This is especially tough because he was a All American in football as well
I think Haku and Steve Blackman should be on higher ranks.
After the incident with Lesnar Jericho told in an interview:" I'm glad he didn't eat me...!"
That was pretty honest imo. I mean, he stood up for Randy Orton even against Brock Lesnar. Although he knew he would probably loose a fight with Brock he was not afraid to confront him!
Sometimes thats what it takes...
Why?
no Bad News Brown? Rick Rude?
Man, you guys are churning out (quality) content at an insane pace considering the pandemic. Huge props.
Hey guys you're not really he's just a little lick-arse, no props to you nerds but have a good one
@@3210-n1x Thanks man, best laugh I've had this week.
Haku/Meng is the toughest guy on this list. Just because he doesn’t have combat sports experience doesn’t mean he won’t rip someone’s eye out.
Dude, half of his stories are vastly exaggerated. Maybe some of them are true but it's not enough to put him that high. You're delusional if you think because he beat some average Joe's at a bar who were drunk that he could beat Lesnar, Blackman, Shamrock, Lashley, or Dan in a real fight.
@@RheemQ
In a real fight, haku wins.
In a fight with rules, sure. Severn could beat him. No prob.
Glad we agree.
@@jefftaylor1186 That's just your opinion because you still believed these stories. Dude, have you actually seen dudes who do MMA in street fights? They know how to fight in a street fight. This is all assuming Haku could even touch Dan. Haku is not that tough! Stop believing these exaggerated stories. Their by drunks who were on pain killers.
This list is not legit without Rick Rude, Jim Duggan, Harley Race, and Ron Simmons. Back to the drawing board.
I agree 100% with you! lets not forget Harley Race, Stan Hansen, Andre the Giant ...
Jim Duggan was legit tough in the 80's. Nobody would mess with him. Also a cool and friendly guy.
@@SardonischerDean Still super cool & friendly. I met him at a comic con a few years ago, and he was legitimately having fun seeing all the costumes and stuff. He even impulsively left his table to chase down and get a photo for himself with a guy in a TMNT costume made out of balloons (nobody was in line for him at that moment, so he wasn't abandoning his fans).
@@agenolmedina9159 there are a few more that should be here. Bad News Brown is top 5 for certain. Nobody wanted on Blackjack Mulligan's bad side. Dick Slater was also a badass.
@@lougiacobbi725 Yes! those 3 were legendary and with good reason to be so.
Cool list. I didn’t know a lot of this. Ron Simmons, Danny Hodge, Bad News Allen / Brown, Bob Backlund, Barbarian, and Lou Thesz would all have been worth mentioning.
The barbarian
100% on all of them Swede...PS loved me some Swede Hanson
What part of "WWE tough guys" is so hard to understand? Reading comprehension is a great thing
I bet Haku has destroyed some toilets during his lifetime😂😂
I can see him going into a hardware store and smashing them over his head.
I think Ron Simmons is worth a mention on this list. Story goes that the Steiner's would mess with everyone in the locker room in WCW except Ron Simmons. When asked by Ric Flair why the Steiner's wouldn't mess with Ron, his response was that he was "unfuckwithable."
I never understood why Eddie would try double legging a gold medalists wrestler. 🤦🏽♀️🤦♂️🤦🏾
I believe Eddie himself was asked this and he replied something like, "because I'm a dumbass."
I think Eddie forgot
14:42 Well, Chris Jericho's still living and breathing and he got in Brock Lesnar's face.
That's because he's a graduate of the Hart dungeon, and anyone that could survive that is also a certified touch son of a bitch.

Well when you win an Olympic Bronze medal in Judo, you’ve certainly got some skill and tenacity behind you
He managed to get Andre the Giant (who was drunk at the time) to back down from a challenge and that in-and-of-itself is a massive accomplishment says I.
He was a bronze medalist in Judo.

Man, I hadn't seen Shamrock in a minute, he definitely has aged over the past 10 years.
Bart Gunn legitimately kick a lot of ass.
He is from my small town in Kentucky, as a 14/yo it makes me rlly proud as a wrestling fan
His left hand was a bullet.
@@aaronhumphrey1939 You should be proud he also comes across as cool dude.
My father was seriously affected by doctor death dying... it was like the most somber dinner ever that night. Seriously he wasn't as phased by 9/11 as he was that man dying.
No joke: Steve Blackman was one of my most favourite wrestlers and he was one reason (other reasons were Undertaker, Jericho and Rock :D) I watched WWE every week with joy. I was shocked when I heard he won't wrestle for the company anymore (well, at that point I was I dunno, 15 or 16?) because I loved his matches. I loved the WWE-Hardcore scene and especially his matches.
You forgot to mention that Dan Severn's mustache can impregnate any woman within 50 yards.
Can't believe Bart Gunn isn't on here after knocking out your number 6 entry Steve Williams🤔 you put him ahead of a lot of better wrestlers as well!!
Williams is a mystery for me because all the reasons they thought he was gonna win the brawl for all and was that great was because he was a division 1 wrestler and footballer ?.... This list is not very great considering also hager who is 2-0-1 and having faced 2 1-1 guys so yeah he is a MMA fighter but that doesn't put him on the same level than Severn/Shamrock/Frye/etc.
Right on brother!
@THE OUTLAW yeah don't take to much away from Bart cause the WWE sure screwed him and he was still humble a really cool guy and they decide to embarrass him by changing his style and getting him to fight Butter Bean
How was undertaker not on this list. Man is a mountain and an athletic freak. Not to mention the 50 surgeries he has gotten but till continued a 30 year career of taking big bumps ??
I never knew the real HAGGAR was in WWE?!
Numbers 3 & 4: Guys with (In their prime) better MMA records than Brock Lesnar
Number 2: A guy who beat Brock Lesnar in multiple shoot fights
Number 1: Brock Lesnar... somehow
I think the point was they had better mma count records but Lesner has shown it in more areas.
@@TheGeekBox Severn was much more decorated/successful than Lesnar in both amateur wrestling and MMA. In addition he was UFC champ back when the UFC was tougher to succeed in. Brock is basically winning a list of WWE tough guys based on his kayfabe toughness, it's a joke.
Lord_Edge so top 3 should be
Severn
Shamrock
& Angle?
@@IronCityVoxTBH I'd rate Lesnar as third.
Kurt Angle and Lesnar had shoot wrestling bouts, not fights. There is a huge difference! Lesnar eats Angle. You're underestimating how powerful Brock is.
Angle no 2. Remember when Daniel Puder nearly broke his arm in a kamura lock.
Angle shouldn't have been in the top 5,especially when Haku,Severn and Shamrock were there!
Angle was cocky and thought he was dealing with a bunch of rookies. It was his cockiness and not taking it seriously that lost him that fight, not Puder actually being better.
Severn is one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. Thankfully he is rightfully remembered as the one of the best in MMA
