I replaced my pool pump motor (due to bearings going out) after watching another very helpful video. Unfortunately I ended up with a leak. That's when I found your video. I followed it step by step and now the leak is gone. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
I've been watching for years others videos on TH-cam on how to fix things ( my cars, home appliances etc) and now it is my time to give back to the community and share my knowledge. I am very happy it worked out for you and you were able to follow my directions. Thanks for watching:)
I just replaced the O Rings and parts using this video due to my motor leaking. No more leaks. Great video. My only comment would be that when you removed the impeller, you had your back to the camera, and I couldn't tell that you were unscrewing it. I was trying to pull it. I watched another video and saw that you screwed it. Might be obvious to some, but wasn't to me. Otheriwse, you saved me a lot of money. Not sure what a repair like this would cost but I would think it would be $300 or more.
I had just rebuilt a pump similar to that one and when it came time to put the longer bolts back in 2 of them were too long. After watching the detail in your video I saw that the 2 bottom bolts were about a 1/2 inch too long. I see now I didn't mount the motor deck to it. this was driving me crazy cause I know I had all the same bolts I started with. So, thanks for showing all the steps. 👀
Thank you for making this video. Even though my pump was not exactly the same model and brand, it was pretty much the same procedure. The only difference was that when I called my pool store, they said not to use any lubrication and to simply clean the surfaces of any debris so I cleaned the shaft and the inside of the seal housing with a metal brush and 1000 grit sand paper to remove the rust on the metal. So far no more leaks and it saved me from bringing my pump to shop, the cost of the repair and fairly easy repair. Thanks again
Music to my ears! Yes, once you understand how to fix one leaky pool pump you can pretty much fix all of them! Glad you were able to save some money and learn a new skill in the process. Thanks for watching!
