- The finish to the K&N Race at Bowman Gray Stadium. LOTS of excitement with Corey LaJoie Winning and Darrel Wallace Jr and Brett Moffit exchanging a little more than words at the end! Sorry for the language thats what you get at the stadium I guess :/

This is where you go to see a fight and sometimes a damn race breaks out!!!
My first thought was it looks like Galesburg Michigan! We used to call it the Friday night fights.
This is one of the best attended short tracks in the country. What they're doing is putting on a show that people want to see. A small track causes lots of action and brings the fans in close so they can see and feel like they're right in the middle of it. It actually reminds me of some of the races Dale Sr. was in "back in the day".
this track is packed or fightning its a disgrace to racing and cops in the infeild desnt help

Ah Bowman-Gray....Trauma, Drama, and the only track you'll see a Kawasaki Mule flanked with police officers hanging off of it riding around during caution laps. The place is a gem.
there are two problems with this track: lack of racing surface and too many cops
It is quite small for the size and amount of race cars they fit on there. Kinda makes for pileup racing, where a one car wreck is the rarity.
Its not really a race track that's why
It's a football field really. And the lack of room to race is what makes bowman Grey so legendary. It's the madhouse

If you've never been to Bowman Gray put it on your bucket list and GO.
It is definitely an "experience".
I drove 8+ hours each way for a modified race,,, didn't disappoint.

Yeah, this race has so many guys that would go on to compete in the top 3 series of NASCAR. Corey, Bubba, Brett, Pastrana did it at one point. Kennedy ran trucks, Harrison Burton, Chase Elliott, and a few others
Its a shame this is the only reason people go to short track races

I raced a few times at Hialeah Speedway, kind of like this place. It's gone now. But some of the absolutely best stockcar drivers ANYWHERE came out of that fast 1/3 mile.
What fight? All I saw was words exchanged and a shove before the police broke it up. #weak

I have ran late model stocks here 3 times while I was going to unc drove for a team and my first race night here I was not expecting all the drama and the fans have their own section that you sit in if you like a certain driver in the nascar modified and fans fighting all night to. Well my first feature I finished 5th here and there was 7 cautions and 4 of them guys drove other guys across infield from front or back stretch through the grass to opposite stretch Infront of traffic. I have raced on very small 1)4 mile asphalt tracks that are tight and very large high banked half miles and this place you go in knowing you got a good chance of having to reclio the frame of your car after or at the least new body panels. But loudness of fans is ear pearcing standing on the track during victory or top 3 interviews loud as a sec college football game and about 5k fans a night plus

A track is small as my hometown track but less banking, I'll bet Friday night fights are awesome!

I live in Arizona and it is my dream to go watch a race at Bowman Gray!
In 2023 they start April 22 and race through August 19. If you can pick the event you go to, pick a night when the modifieds run twin 25 lap races, and avoid the long distance races! The place is nuts! I started going in 1971, and many seasons I wouldn’t miss a single race night! The bad part? When you get home, you’ll be bummed out because you can’t return the following Saturday night! If you love turn one at the Circuit of the Americas cup race, you’ll be infatuated with BGS!
Ok soooo......its only a matter of time before a car, a tire, or some other piece of debris goes into that crowd on the frontstrech. They are WAY too close to the track, and there is no catch fence whatsoever.
Given enough time, everything will happen eventually. But considering the track didn't open just yesterday, it's all good.

That’s why we don’t go. My kids love going to races but, that place is just a straight shit show. Drivers parking the cars to get out and fight during cautions. Fights in the stands and parking lots, no thanks. Not putting my kids in the middle of that. The stands are packed however, so it seems to be working and everyone enjoying it, so good for them.

That track is made to cause tempers you have to move people to win. Everyone yells about it.

Poor Pastrana in the 99 got caught up in it all. At the end of the race you could see the hood mounted in.
They call this track the Madhouse. It's barely 400 metres.
