his face says “i’ve won, but at what cost” coz marin was so naturally gifted that she doesnt need to work hard to portray characters while gojo have to keep up so hard to the point of exerting himself to find ways to give marin a better portrayal of her cosplays. that made him think that maybe he was not worthy of marin, and she needs more professional tailors with decades of experiences that would easily solve problems that will stump him for weeks. its like the realization of seeing how beautiful your crush is and you doubt that youre good enough to be with her.

Yeah I also believe that’s one of the things that Gojo is currently thinking about as well as very stressed about. We all know that’s not the case at all since Marin is deeply in love with Gojo after all yet it’s so sad seeing him be so down and depressed, I just want to see both Marin and Gojo be happy once again!! 😭💔

One more thing to note is that there's a big difference between cosplaying as a hobby and cosplaying as a pro. It kinda goes from doing it for fun to doing it for the money so im pretty pretty sure marin would turn the job down. But then knowing gojo he probably thinks that marin cares more about her cosplays more than gojo considering his inferiority complex. Dang Fukuda sensei give ma boi waka a break!
Exactly that’s actually one of the main reasons I see Marin turning down the offer as well since to her cosplaying has always been a hobby and she’s never really cared about being famous or anything of that sort. Marin’s main focus of cosplaying has always been to have fun with Gojo by dressing as some of her all time favorite characters never about the money plus everything would change the second it becomes a job since it’s no longer a fun hobby but instead a literal job which honestly would make it no longer fun!! Haha and yeah hopefully Gojo bounces back stronger than ever and talks things through with Marin because I just want to see these two love birds be happy!! 😭💔

I think it’s just a little seasoning on the relationship, making it deeper eventually by overcoming insecurities, gojo is probably sad cause Marin is getting popular while he’s staying the same, but he doesn’t realize Marin doesn’t really care about the fame, author is cooking rn let’s see what he makes
Yeah I think once this whole misunderstanding between Gojo and Marin is all set and done their relationship will grow much more strong because of it!! I think Gojo has actually increased his self esteem tremendously in a positive way ever since meeting Marin since after meeting her he’s been able to form friendships and even trust other people on a person level. I do believe that Gojo is definitely dealing with some very stressful emotions atm since for starters I think that the idea of him realizing that he loves Marin is eating him alive tbh since I’m assuming he’s thinking to himself that he isn’t good enough for her and specially after all the attention Marin got at the convention!! I completely agree with you in Marin not caring for the fame whatsoever so I can see in the next couple of chapters Marin turning down the job offer because that would mean less time for her to be able to be with Gojo and that might actually be the catalyst in the two of them having a heart to heart conversation and finally letting their feelings out to one another but that’s just my wishful thinking since I do want the two of them to be happy!! 😭❤️

Yeah I can definitely see this being resolved in the time span of a couple of issues because I doubt will be stuck with them being at odds with each other for more than a few chapters at most. I think Fukuda is deliberately setting up this conflict for either Gojo or Marin to sit down and talk things through in a private manner for the two of them to be able to move forward with an even stronger relationship going forward and perhaps everything that transpires from their talk eventually culminates in a confession from one of the two and if I had to take a wild guess I think Gojo might be the one to confess first since that would be a wild card and nobody would expect since we all assume Marin will make the first move and all but what if Gojo actually shocks us all and confesses to Marin first that would be really unexpected!! Haha

Yeah same here, as much as it hurts me to see both Marin and Gojo being at odds with each other for the time being I think it will overall help their relationship develop much more in the long run because of it and might even cause a confession to happen from one of the two!! I think rn Gojo might be feeling awkward regarding his feelings for Marin and might eventually culminate in a confession from him or at least an acknowledgment of his feelings towards Marin being Romantic, I genuinely can’t tell which direction Fukuda is going to go in the future which to me makes it even more exciting tbh!! In chapter 96 Gojo recalled his grandpa saying to him "make them fall in love at first sight", and after that in chapter 99 Fukuda-sensei show the phrase "it needs to look enchanting enough that people still want to fall in love with you" 3 times, the first time the phrase is complete, the second time the word "people" is cancelled as Gojo is starting to realise that it's not important what people thinks but what he thinks, and last time everything is cancelled and we see another Gojo thought "I shouldn't have said that" like "oh no, now that I realised about my feelings for Marin for the first time I'm fucked, there's no possibility to go back".
I've also reread chapter 50 (the photoshoot one) and 62 (Rei's cosplay), these are the two chapters that Gojo recollect in his mind, in my opinion the answer is there cause in ch.50 he thinks " this side of kitagawa-san that I don't know about is a gorgeous world" like "she is too much for me, she lives in a complete different world, how could we become closer?" , in ch.62
he observe very carefully Marin cosplaying and he makes a parallelism between what he feels looking at her and what he felt in his childhood looking at hina dolls, so something SO BEAUTIFUL that made him FELL IN LOVE at first sight (what his granpa said).
SOOO that's the point, from one side he thinks he doesn't deserve Marin, she's something out of reach, but on the other side she is the one that make him fall in love everytime he sees her, so he is completely overwhelmed like "I feel this beautiful things for Marin but the gap between us is too big, there's no possibility she feels the same or she needs me like I need her, so what am I supposed to do now?How can I just look at her without feeling guilty for this?".

@@Georgymon thank you😆I'm a huge fan of this manga and I think Fukuda sensei is great in creating exciting panels, especially when it comes to the inner emotions and feelings of the characters. Since in ch.99 the author makes Gojo think about two particular events I thought it should be important to read back those pages in order to put everything at the right place.. and my first comment is what I've came out with.
Anyway these are just my hypothesis, I'm curious if I'm correct or not, in any case I cross my fingers for the happy ending WE ALL deserve XD

I believe what went through Gojo's mind was that once Marin makes it big she will no longer need Gojo's assistance in making clothes for her. Huge bigshots would sponsor her and she will have a line up of good tailors to make her clothes, plus it's herself and her persona that makes her outshine. Where as Gojo has nothing but his dolls. The impact made by that moment which Gojo captured in his eyes showed that they live in completely different worlds and Marin was neglecting how lonely Gojo actually is. Now for them to go back Gojo needs to accept he needs Marin in his life.
That cold distance between them kind of showed how unfamiliar they are to these sides of them and may now cause them to drift apart a bit. It's been a while since the author has allowed some progress in their relationship in the manga until now, so let's see if the development takes a while or not.
This is a great analysis of the whole situation!! Both Gojo and Marin definitely feel lonely throughout the convention since while everyone was fighting for the attention of Marin all she was seeking for was simply Gojo and the same can be said for Gojo since all he wanted to do was take a picture of her in the haniel cosplay as he promised but seeing just how popular Marin was overwhelmed him to the point that he felt very lonely which was captured beautifully by Fukuda’s paneling during that entire scene!! I also believe you’re 100% correct in the assessment of Gojo feeling like Marin might no longer need him since like you said if she were to take the job they would be a bunch of professional tailors that are better than Gojo which we can all assume is making Gojo feel depressed knowing that their time together might be coming to an end while he also discovered that he needs Marin in his life since he is finally realizing that he is in love with Marin!! Fukuda has definitely been cooking and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the story because I have a feeling that we’re gonna get some very crucial character development from Gojo as well as Marin in these next couple of chapters!! :)

I saw even more symbolizim in the train ride sequence. They start off standing next to each other, then passengers spread them apart, just like the photographers did, and they stay apart the rest of the ride. Rewind to the agents pitch. It kind of disturbed me that her speech bubble partially obscures the middle of the refrain of Marin's thought of cosplaying with Gojo forever. To me it seemed foreshadowing that the pro offer is also going to complicate, but not end things.
Narrative wise, I could see them couple up, Gojo gain some security in the relationship, then Marin tries to go pro and either [A} She backs out because they don't want to take them as a team. That would devastate Gojo and they would need to recover. or [B] Over Marin's protest the agency has her work with pro costumers which Gojo, with his self-sacrificing attitude, would accede to with mixed feelings. But, the gig is a disaster and the agency realizes the magic is in the team and brings Gojo aboard and cosplay magic resumes. Season 3 Finale.
I prefer option B because it's Drama 101, the protagonist has to make a comeback from a setback. The closest thing to a setback so far has been the Veronica cosplay. In addition, it would palce Gojo firmly in the role of Marin's "Knight on a white horse" forever.
That’s a great analysis about the current situation of events and what might possibly happen, it’ll be very interesting to see what Fukuda ends up doing to commence the next arc because it’s sure to have huge ramifications for the story going forward which I’m very excited to see!! :) ha

I mostly shy away from the theories that a lot of people have that include Gojo feeling down because of a feeling that he isn't good enough for her/that she will leave him for someone else. To me, especially with his ruminations on what he told her about the /expression/ she was supposed to make, and how he needed her to make everyone want to fall in love with her, I think he might have realized, or felt, that that was selfish. "I need you to make me fall in love with you", as if she needed to do anything out of the ordinary for that to happen. The pressure he put on her is too much for him, I think, and he regrets it. Also, I don't think there's any way in hell Marin is gonna go pro. She's made it quite clear that her reasons for cosplaying are "wanting to be her faves", and "hanging out, getting ready, taking pictures, having fun". It's about the friendships, and the togetherness, and /Gojo/. Not standing in a studio, having a pro photographer take pictures of her and then send her home.
You make a solid point my friend perhaps that might be the reason he is feeling the way he is!! And yeah I definitely don’t see a scenario in which Marin ditches Gojo to become a pro since she literally only wants to cosplay for fun as well as to have fun with Gojo after all!! Haha
The craziest part is the contrast between their thoughts at the time. Marin just had Gojo in mind, because again she heard what he said about embodying the character and took it to heart. She really wanted to put in the same effort that Gojo suffered through. So all she though about was if Gojo was seeing the effort she’s putting in to make her worthy of such amazing costume. Meanwhile Gojo was suffering from success. He made this spectacular costume and yet it seems as if it wasn’t what he had in mind. Maybe he’s jealous of the attention to her rather than the costume (I doubt). I think he’s either jealous of the attention she’s getting in the sense that it will no longer seem as if it’s just a thing for them. Or jealous of the way she conveys the character flawlessly. And we already know from Grandpa he has a big of a inferiority complex and gets super into the work he does. So that def plays a role. I just hope that they figure something out. Though I could see the author pulling a “This is Gojo’s magnum opus, he can’t make anything better, so he doesn’t want to make anything at all. Before Marin reminds him it’s all for fun of it, and it’s not serious”
Yeah I definitely think that the way that the whole scene played out was very well done and illustrated just how conflicted Gojo is atm. We still don’t know necessarily what is really going on with him but if I had to guess it would have to do with something involving all of the attention Marin was getting like you mentioned but perhaps it had something more to do with the fact that Gojo might feel like he is just one person in an ocean of hundreds of more people that love Marin and somebody like himself doesn’t stand a chance with her similar to the Haniel story but that’s just what I’m assuming :0 I just hope this can be resolved sooner than later cause I hate seeing Gojo and Marin look so sad and I just want them to go back to being happy and cute together like before!! 😭💔 haha

I know this chapter has been analyzed to its fullest extent to everyone but I just find it incredibly interesting that Gojo is beating himself up over, in my opinion, his finest works.
I’m not gonna lie, out of all the cosplays, Haniel resembles a Hina doll the most: The outfit, the kimono, the makeup, even the direction on the acting. Gojo quite frankly created a life sized Hina doll that is so popular and magnificent, it puts its own creator through cognitive dissonance.

I definitely think this is leading up to Marin Confessing to Gojo, she wanted to do it after the big group cosplay but it didn't happen. Also just from the perspective of other Rom Coms it's on a similar pace for such big moments, Kaguya took until 120+ and I know others are like that also for either confession or first kiss stuff like that.
I’m totally with you because I genuinely believe that once this arc is set and done either Gojo will finally realize that he is in love with Marin or either Marin/Gojo will confess to the other because everything seems to point towards that. Yeah most romcom series like you mentioned also have a similar pacing for the big confession/ first kiss to happen so I’m pretty accustomed to it and as long as Fukuda keeps cooking some fire like she has I have no issue with waiting a little bit more as long as the pay off is great which I’m sure it will be!! :) also I’m very glad and happy to see a fellow “kaguya-sama” enjoyer since it’s one of my all time favorite series in manga/anime!! Yeah I can definitely see that since you’re absolutely right about this arc being a parallel to the shizuku tan arc!! As for the Marin going pro we all know that she can’t sew at all and isn’t good at making cosplays haha however I think that the whole going pro thing would mean her having people making her cosplays for her and her just wearing them/ modeling them similar to how real pro cosplayers do as well. I hope that this whole misunderstanding gets resolved sooner than later cause seeing Gojo and Marin being distant like this breaks my heart, I just want these two little love birds to be happy together!! 😔💔

I took Gojo's reaction as one of jealousy and selfishness, actually. Like, he's thinking: "I just helped make all of these other people fall in love with you." There could be some greater realization of his feelings for her, but it's combined with a sense of an increasing distance between them.
That would be a very logical reason in why he is reacting the way that he is!! I think that this new arc that we’re staring in the story will be solely focus on Gojo finally realizing his feelings for Marin or just how he’ll be finally able to overcome his past traumas and be able to move forward in life without anything holding him back and finally being able to have the courage to confess to Marin!! ❤️❤️

It isn’t just gojo inferiority complex on how there are better people at creating cosplay costumes for Marin. It’s also other people’s opinion gojo being an average guy with hottie like marin. We know marin doesn’t care if gojo is an average guy but other people’s perception of gojo can have affect on gojo mentality and gojo feels unworthy of marin right now. So either gojo sinks and become’s a degenerate or struggles and become’s a man worthy of being with marin kitagawa.
I think that Gojo has consistently proven that he’s a good guy worthy of being with Marin however he himself doesn’t think that simply do to the fact that Marin is like a goddess to him (similar to Haniel) and Gojo just feels like somebody as himself isn’t worthy of her which obviously isn’t true!! We just have to wait for Gojo to finally realize that he is good enough for her and always has been, I just hope it’s sooner than later cause I hate seeing both Gojo and Marin look so sad and depressed!! 😔💔
in my opinion in this chapter gojo thought that marin was too distant and in fact you can see gojo slowly regretting what he had asked of her, in my opinion with the next chapter gojo will be a little possessive on her and I'm afraid that Gojo will have a brakedown both because of his tiredness and because he believes that Marin will leave him.
Yeah I agree with the sentiment of Gojo feeling distant from Marin. I think Fukuda did a great job demonstrating the gap between the two of them in chapter 99 in which you see Gojo being far away from Marin will everyone is fighting to get her attention!! I can see Gojo being exhausted from everything that’s been happening lately both physically and mentally and perhaps he will come out of it with some type of awakening moment in which he realizes he loves Marin!! Hopefully these two get back to being happy with one another because I hate seeing them both being depressed!! 💔💔

His face looks pissed as f*ck (depression, irritation and jealousy also can be seen) I think is that he forgot his dream, because of chasing her and helping to achieve her dream. I think he realises that she used him. To the point its called manipulation. To prove my point (he had less experience before marin with others, didn't do a lot of things or been in relationship) Also I think he's just tired mentally (from marin). He's irritated too because (think) he help her cosplay, he loved and appreciated her, she loved him too, but as her fame rised, he got more farther from her because marin's dream was fulfilled (say that it wasn't) she kept going, gojo realises that she was appreciated to the point of madness and he was another (MAN) standing in the crowd to reach her. Now she also realises that he's going voluntarily away from her. Well i think its best choice left for him. He chased, he failed, best choise, go away or run. I actually completely and respectfully disagree with Marin using Gojo and Gojo being upset regarding his dream being taken away because of Marin being front and center of his attention. We have been told that Gojo’s Hina doll skills have only gotten better thanks to him spending time with Marin and his friends since before that he never was able to really nail the faces of the hina dolls but once he met Marin not only did his art skills improve drastically but also his personal relations with people did too!! The only reason I see Gojo looking so sad and disappointed in that scene would be simply because either he was being too hard on himself thinking that the finish product didn’t live up to showcase Haniel’s true essence, himself thinking that Marin would never fall in love with someone like himself and the thought of the hurts him inside since he finally realizes he has romantic feelings towards her, or the fact that he saw the pro cosplayer scout trying to recruit Marin and Gojo realizing that their time together might be coming to an end soon since if Marin were to join a Cosplay agency she would no longer need Gojo as her tailor or make up artist. We can only speculate atm since we still don’t know or have any definitive proof of what’s going on with Gojo’s inner conflict but those are just some of my popular theories!!

Possibly, after physically and emotionally exhausting himself to complete "Haniel" to his crazy exacting standards, Gojo has come to realize that he can't keep pouring everything into the costumes. This leaves Gojo saddened because he still believes that his only connection to Marin is through making her cosplay outfits. It's a common trope in Manga that the introverted Boy MC can't see how much the female MC cares.
I see the perspective you’re describing in why Gojo is saddened at the end of the chapter and you bring up some valid reasons that I can see playing out as well but I really just think it’s simply Gojo not finding someone as himself good enough for someone as good as Marin. We all have known from the beginning of the story that Gojo had very low self esteem issues in the past before meeting Marin and throughout the story his self esteem has increased drastically to the point that he has a lot of friends and colleagues all around him that care for him very dearly, however that lingering thought of himself actually loving Marin upsets him simply do to the fact that he thinks Marin is too good for him and any other scenario in which Marin actually would love Gojo in a romantic manner is completely impossible from his perspective. That being said he is completely wrong in that sentiment since we all know that Marin loves Gojo very much so haha hopefully everything can be resolved in a quickly manner cause I just want the two of them to go back in being happy together once again!! 😭😭

I think it time for me to catch up with the manga, i stopped reading when they do that horror cosgroup thingy. For me that time, i got bored reading it coz i was expecting for more character developments between the two protag however the author just solely focused on cosplay stuffs.

Yeah I’ve actually have heard from many people I know as well that the “coffin party arc” is the part of the story that they stopped reading because of how long it took for it to be over, it also didn’t help that Fukuda took a lot of breaks during that arc so it makes sense why people decided to put the series down and pick it back up once there was more chapters to binge read it!! Haha and honestly I would strongly suggest to catch to the manga because the current arc is really good, some might say it might be the best arc in the story thus far so yeah definitely give it a read and catch up whenever you have the chance cause it’s totally worth it!! 😁😁

I actually think that the reason Gojo is feeling the way that he is has to do with the story of Haniel as a whole. Just like how in the story everyone falls in love with Haniel that seems to happen in the story during the comek convention and I think that the author Fukuda is mirroring the events of the Haniel story into Gojo and Marin’s relationship in the sense that Gojo doesn’t feel worthy of loving someone that is out of this world like Marin similarly to Haniel and the humans in that story, that’s just one of my interpretations of the current situation. 😁😁

Gojo is sad realising that his time is now done he thinks, now marin face just drops from think is a joke to realising that hes not joking. Before she can say anything because she to nervous to say the reason she can only do this is because gojo is her rock piller of worth. Now gojo leaves and it been a few days and marin and goji hasn't spoken and she keeps trying and he make himself not available at all because he doesn't want to hurt her but holding her back pushing himself to do more so now marin realise the inly way to save there relationship she need to confess to make him realise she will only do this with gojo even if its not as full worker she just needs him in her life.

Gojo stops and leaves like moves back with his mother sister or whoever she is I forgot. But he does that without telling and he moves school and it's a time skip type nearing the end and it's like 5 or 10 years later and she is a famous celebrity cosplayer who in ad and commercial and gojo and marin bump into each other and just hit it off like in that anime I watch a while ago where this goth kid befriend and goes out with this girl that by the end dumps him without saying and finds out she has a tumour and only dated him for just what the hell but accidentally fell in love and it's a time skip where he meets her again where she forgot who he was due to the surgery and by the the end she remembered everything and they get married I can she this type of thing playing out where they go there separate ways and time skip by the end 10 years later they end up together and there love still burns and boom bang bing they get married etc. that would be worst because they would a lazy way to end it instead of giving us a love story following them dating for like 30 chapters then end with them get married or what ever that would be amazing. Anyway like your video and hope to see more later on. Btw have you every watch the kingdom of ruin I would not watch if U want to get depressed and hate the mc because every time you think wow this will be good they bring a person back nope he just burns everything down I know why he does it but still plus the first episode is just horrible if you want the mc mentor to survive let's just say overkill.
