@Waxel Punkt. I was just making a point that under the Nazi's it was a Crime to listen to his Music! The German Nation was an extremely cultured Nation till the coming of Hitler and his murderers, Mendelssohn, was just one of the Great History of Jewish Composers writers, artists, singers, conductors, musicians and Politics and Scientists that became hated by the State just because they were Jewish, I am now nearly 104 years of age, I visited Germany first when I was nearly Twelve in 1931, my Father was a Trained Opera singer who was then part of the Chorus at Covent Garden a Leading Tenor from 1909 till 1940, my mother had trained as a Pianist at the Paris Conservatoire, though both my Parents were Welsh or Cymric as we call ourselves. In Paris she was friendly with a Cellist who was German and from Ilmenau, she became part of the Dresden State Opera Orchestra under Conductors like Busch and Munk I believe, even the First World War did not stop their Friendship and in 31 it was decided that she would travel to Germany with me and elder Sister to see here. It was our summer Holidays and we stayed at her and her Husbands apartments in Dresden, we had a lovely time in that Extremely Beautiful City, then there were very little signs of the Nazi's, they visited us at my Parents home in Buckinghamshire in 32, they were a lovely couple whose daughter was of the same age as my Sister, Twenty, before Christmas that year her Husband died of a Heart attack and Frau Hedwig was alone her daughter was working in Berlin. It was in 1936 we travelled again this time myself and my Mother, I was then a Young man, it was different, the people were not Happy there was Nazi's shouting in Groups and Heil Hitler was heard by myself for the first time. I think many people literally found them rather stupid at that time, I overheard Frau Hedwig and my Mother talking about the goings on at the Opera House, I heard that all Jewish members of Orchestra or Conductors and Singers were banned by the Nazi Party. We only spent four days there and took a Train to Hamburg and came home, we were followed on the Train and a Gentleman with a rather stern look never took his eye off me, I stamped on his foot, he blurted out a rather loud " Rude " word which made me laugh, he tried to swing his arm at me, but missed, at that point my mother got up and told him in fluent Welsh what she thought of him, that also was "Rude " another Man came in and apologised and left, then a Elderly gentleman whispered in my ear, Gestapo, I did not know what that was, I understood a later when we arrived in Hamburg, the two men were with the Police " papers " where are you travelling, my Mother said joining a ship bound for America and calling at Southampton, where we will disembark, on that Ship there were many Refugees from Germany, they were leaving. It was not a nice atmosphere at any point, people were sullen afraid and frightened to Talk, that was my first tastes of Hitler and his regime, I had six years of it later. Frau Hedwig was killed in the Bombings of Dresden in Late 1945, her daughter we never heard from her even after searching with the Red Cross we know she worked for German Radio in Berlin and that it was probable that she died in an Air raid as well.

Don't you Soviet apologists find it strange that the civilians are not herded against a wall or dead laying sprawled in a ditch? Instead they're milling about, looking at the cameraman or going about their business.
mark harris The first mandatory targets for immediate annihilation in the occupied territories of the USSR, defined in the notorious Hitler's Commissar Order of June 1941, were Jews, saboteurs and Communist cadres. The Wehrmacht provided all assistance to the SS Einsatzgruppen, who were busy murdering those categories of citizens in mass massacres. The rest of the population at the time of invasion was only deprived of the right to complain to the German commanders of any acts of atrocities, committed by the German army. None of the Wehrmacht generals have ever protested the SS Einsatzgruppen mass murders of civilians in occupied areas or the cruelties, committed by Nazis or by Army units or individual servicemen.

Biggest mistake made unfortunately
Cookie Monster
It was not a mistake, it was a fatal blunder of Hitler and his cronies, whom Germans in 1940 adored with great enthusiasm.
