Love this update, genuinely love to see creators take time to just enjoy the thing they usually make content about. We can all use a break! I haven't had a chance to try the expansion yet but I'm still catching up since coming back a few months ago after years not playing.
i have only been staying in Seitung Province and i'm loving it very much. i'm taking my time to complete the story because so far the story is promising and the characters are just diverse and fun. i found myself using the raptor more than skyscale because there are details i might have missed on the ground. and speaking of details, the map itself is one of the prettiest. really looking forward to explore the other maps. also while i was not one of the players who look forward to fishing, i find myself doing it often in between missions. idk something about it feels calming.
Still havent engaged with fishing any more than I have absolutely had to. But the rest of what you said I agree completely. The raptor becomes less valuable once you progress. It's a skyscale expac for sure. :)
@@MindOverMeta haha that's to each its own. i'm glad you are having fun in EoD as well. do take your time exploring the maps and story so we can get juicy review from you next time!
Glad you're enjoying EoD! I'm having a hard time with it. Then again I'm also fighting a cold, have been playing intermittently and I am WvW junkie, so PVE is difficult for me to get into. Appreciate the shout-out, too, and linking my Twitch! I won't be streaming today or tomorrow as I have a lot of work to get done here at the house and only 2 days to complete it. Ugh! I'll have to drop by your Twitch when you're streaming to say hi.
EOD is beautiful and it got a lot of things right, it made some good moves in directions that I think are full of win. I count the expac as a success out of the game. One example that came as a small surprise that I think was a very good move by Arenanet: the "Monastery Training" heart mission where you practice some core game mechanics with combos, jumping, evades, etc. I've encountered several people who said "I never got good at those before." So it's helpful that they are getting deeper practice early in this expac. And I'm always glad to see a game loop back and keep novice players in mind as the game grows.
They gonna need it. I think that EoD content is a fair bit harder than what we are used to. Those trianing stations are pretty cool. We will see the impact they have.
Had fun with the story, finished it pretty quickly. I think the whole thing really is easy to go thru and grab masteries/hero points with a flying mount. I just got back into playing again after not picking it up much till after the last expansion. As easy as it is to grab things, I think this will be the go-to area for bringing in new chars to power level them up for a new class.
For whatever reason, the nerfs really took the wind out of sails for the expansion. I don't even feel like playing since my 'main' character was impacted.
I kinda get that, actually, since the lead up was sooooooo long to this. Spent way too much time prepping and getting characters "ready", then Day 1 nerfs kinda stepped on that. If the nerfs had come weeks before launch, it would have worked far better for me. That being said, still enjoyed the first zone but I'm taking a break and maybe starting the story over with one of the new builds.
That was a Grim intro? A nice problem to have - enjoying the game enough to not want to stream! Been surprised by how engaging/useful Masteries are because they seemed pretty average in the pre-release press. Story has been excellent, both in execution and narratve, and how they managed to make so many call-backs covering 10 years of content. A couple of great new characters too. Open world has been top-notch. The verticality especially was eye-watering. Enjoying the slight up-tick in combat difficulty too - some proper fights in the open world now - but mob density seems too low and most encounters optional. Solid 8/10 from me when I feared a 5 at best from the press.
I'm currently around 8 with it... some times 8.5... then I need to use that stupid bot for something and it's character bound progression on one of my alts and I grit my teeth. Other than that, it was great
Love the fresh outro, MC 👌
Also it's real good to just hear from you since the expac dropped! Can't wait to see your newly crafted builds :D

The good news is it's amazing and isnt going anwyhere. There's nothing I have seen worth rushing to... so enjoy the ride :)
I'm really loving EoD more than i thought i would. Beautiful design and just plain fun.
So far I am a big fan... a really big fan

Are any of the new Elites any good in WvW.... I may have to sit around and try them out
@@MindOverMeta Good question. I've seen some vids of people doing pretty well with a few classes so far.

Tis a great area... all of them are amazing actually.

Your loss. Nerfs are gonna happen. It's an MMO.
