In this video, I will show you step by step, how to make your very own, very stately Graduation cap and gown card with handmade tassel. I know it’s late to the graduation game but a friend asked me to make this for her son!

Materials you'll need to make your greeting card:
1. 1 piece of chocolate brown cardstock for your base 10 x 12 inches
2. 1 piece of orange cardstock 7 ¼ x 4 ¾ inches (gown layer)
3. 1 piece of white cardstock 7 x 4 ½ inches (gown layer)
4. 1 piece of orange cardstock 4 5/8 x 4 1/8 inches (cap layer)
5. 1 piece of white cardstock 4 ¼ x 3 7/8 inches (cap layer)
6. 1 piece of orange cardstock 5 ½ x 2 ¼ inches (front gown décor)
7. 1 piece of cream cardstock 5 ¼ x 1 3/4 inches (front gown décor)
8. 1 inch chocolate brown circle
9. Embroidery thread to make your tassel (also a 2 x 3 inch piece of scrap paper to make it) amzn.to/3UGIlih
10. Word dies for sentiments or a stamp or print from your computer can also work!
11. Bone folder or ruler to burnish score lines amzn.to/40cm1zo

Do you have measurements for an envelope? I'm using these for my graduation invitations and I just can't get the envelope right! Help!!
Hi there. Sure. This card whem completed measures 5x7.5. I usually make an A8 envelope for it that measures 5.5x8. That should fit well with the tassel and all at this size! Good luck. 💛
Hi! I just wanted to know, is the scoring necessary? I'm going to try to make it just folding the paper where I need to because I don't have the tools. Thanks!
Hi there. Scoring is not ever completely necessary. You can try to make it without it however the results may be slightly different but it can work. ❤️
@@CrystalBest Yep, I ended up making the card anyway for my cousin. It worked fine, just the folding was a little tricky with cardstock and it wasn't quite as precise as yours. Still turned out great, though! 🎓🎉
I followrd your instructions and measutements but the cap is way too large.

Alli saw was the cutting directions in the notes. I can get all the pieces cut out But then don't know what to do with them. Is there a tutorial typed up somewhere?

I have followed measurements for the cap but the ones given ate too big. Has anyone else had a probpem making this. I have 3 card bases and the gown front works out great. Just vannot get the cap to work, and it ends up as a trapezoid, not a square, HELP
The cap isn't a perfect square actually but it should not be a trapezoid at all. Did you follow the instructions along with the video?
