    I didn't go to Oxford either and battled with mental health issues for most of my life...not once have these factors, or any other, has motivated me to seek out revolting abuse images of children.
    Totally bizarre that these are somehow considered to be mitigating factors.

      @@kewanali2054 Thanks. I'm trying to manage it the best I can and it's a constant struggle. But I only mentioned it to highlight the absurdity of it being brought up as mitigation.
      Depression, as I've experienced it, depletes your sex drive if anything. And if one does have these deviant urges, then one's empathy would have to be diminished to be motivated to act on them.
      This doesn't ring true for depression, either...as often the reverse is true.
      So it's a total nonsense, and actually really insulting to people with mental health issues, to suggest that one thing might lead to the other, or that it'd be somehow more likely because of a mental health problem.

      They don't jail first time offenders where they have possession of material, but there's been no direct contact offence with a child, for the simple reason that they go into jail, network with other much worse offenders, and come out significantly worse. Rehabilitation in cases like Huw Edwards' gets significantly better results if they are treated and monitored out of jail. The fact they have a suspended sentence also means they can be taken into jail immediately if they offend again. Are we actually interested in doing our best to stop the problem getting worse or are we just after revenge?

    • @sandrolaurella2417
      @sandrolaurella2417 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @zeddeka So it's only about revenge is it ? How short sighted you are. Going by your logic we shouldn't jail anyone. A suspended sentence is the same as doing nothing because all he has to do is keep himself clean for a very short period. These people should be jailed and monitored when they come out. Liberalism doesn't work. This sends a very bad message to all those doing the same.

      I was told these things by a BBC runner back in the late 90s as the rumours were so widespread within the organisation that they weren't even a secret and if the low level runners knew..everybody knew, they're now a senior producer there.

      This is the tactical use of the media labeling corbyn antisemitic, since to be progressive you cannot deny its existence, to do otherwise is to perform erasure. Our enemies on the center to right don't care that their spurious claims actually help real antisemites promote their message ("they control the media", "antisemitism isnt bad"), but that doesn't absolve us from acting on our principles

      I saw a couple racist stickers posted at bus stops. One was in Luton, and the other was a "14 words" sticker in Aylesbury. That one I used my keys to scratch off the paper.
      It's really horrible seeing them, especially if minorities view it, it would make them feel unsafe, and fearful of the people around them.
      If you see a racist sticker, please do scratch it off and remove it.

Do they forget when they hire immigrant nurses that they will need somewhere for them to go to get a visa? Wtf is wrong with these people. You have immigrants you need processing employees? And to give them jobs. So they're not hated by everyone.

If I was paying for access to parliament, would I want to meet my stooge in a private office in secret, or somewhere with a news clipping I can refer to if they decide not to accept my policy recommendations?
