- Red Soldier and the gang infiltrate Blu base in order to find out the secrets of whatever they’re hiding. Little do they know, Blu has sent one of their strongest mercenaries to deal with these panicking pillaging perpetrators. Can Red team successfully get past the dedicated defensive deadeye, or will they fall to the hands of Blu’s overwhelming observant opponent?
Well after 3 entire months, I finally did something. Woohoo!
I really apologise for the very long wait, I didn’t expect for the vid to take this long. School was kinda crazy with the amount of exams and other work this term
Another thing I apologise for are most of the scenes at the beginning. You can see that most of them look fuzzy and not properly in focus. I later learnt while animating that this was because the light had to be brighter in order for the camera to focus properly. I know it sounds strange, but that’s the reason
Also, I do realise that in some scenes you can see outside the set, but I was too lazy to extend the walls up. Hey, maybe the base isn’t indoors, perhaps it’s a trench which would explain why you can see the “sky”. But Idk, you can interpret it how you want
Y’know what’s funny? I started this project last school holidays, the first school holidays of the year, and now I’ve finished it on the first day of the second school holidays. So this thing basically took me an entire term to complete

Hey, is it just me, or ever since the “Seeing what Happens when I Animate with Natural Lighting” video, has the lighting seemed kinda bland? I dunno, might just be me
Also, do any of you know how to make the camera look like it’s in first person? Because in 2:05, all I did was zoom in the camera, but that doesn’t look great. And it’s not like I can put the actual camera close to an object in front of it because otherwise it won’t be in focus.
Just wondering if any of you have a solution to this
For a first person look I would try having the sides of each of a character's shoulders on opposite ends of the camera (something like that, however you position the arms and distance the zoom is up to you) idk if that makes sense but I hope that helps
Oh yeah so add the arms in the shot. Alright, I’ll try that the next time I do a first-person shot. Granted I don’t know when that’ll be, but I’ll definitely try it

you could only have the arms in frame with the weapon in front of the camera depending on what kind you have.
also you can make the engineer from Lego on bricklink you have to buy them but its legit Lego you can use the item number here some heads that i think will look good

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO MAKE THIS
It took 86 hours for the animation, 3 hours and 10 minutes for the thumbnail, and 2 hours of editing. All of this was over the course of 37 days. This info is in the description, along with some other neat little facts

Are you talking about how, for example, sometimes Heavy has a beard, and when he changes faces his beard disappears? And other things similar to that?

Oh yeah that’ll be pretty cool. I wouldn’t be able to do it currently as I’m working on another project, but also I would prefer to do it when I have all the classes made, but I suppose that doesn’t matter. But short answer: yes, I will make one eventually

Sadly I don’t actually know much about Half Life, and I have no idea what Half Life Opposing Force is. But just from looking at images of it, I don’t think I have the parts to make the characters
Although I might make a regular Half Life video in the future, I would just need to learn about the game first

He and his colleagues perform an Experiment involving a crystal from another Planet. The Experiment goes wrong and causes Portals to open all across Black mesa, which in turn leads to an alien Invasion. It would be cool to see you make an Animation about half life using only this context I gave you
