Glad to watch this review and hear you speak about this edition even though I already have it as a definite buy I still love watching your videos James !
I really love No Country For Old Men , O Brother , Where Art Thou ? , and The Big Lebowski ( I still gotta see Blood Simple and probably should give Fargo a rewatch , I have not watched Fargo in quite a long time I do think )

Great review as always! I think this is one of my favorite movies of all time and my favorite Coen brothers movie only tied with Fargo. What an incredible movie and a great UHD from Criterion ❤

I will pick this up during the 50 percent off Criterion sale...this movie is currently about 50 dollars on Amazon ... these 4K prices are insane!

I managed to order it on Amazon on December 21st for $27.99 - I have no idea why it was that cheap. Had to snag it cause I'd planned on waiting for the sale too

Miramax blue ray of this movie is just fine..Amazon kept selling that blue ray for $15..as soon criterion version hit the shelves..Amazon reduced the blue ray price to $6

I’ve been enjoying the other Coen brothers movies on the channel. So many great ones. Will definitely be picking this up next sale and getting the rewatch in. Solid review as always!

Great review James! I can't wait to pick up this 4K. One of my favorite movies of the past 25 years for sure. Pretty much a perfect movie.
Did you get a new camera? This video looks really nice! I do some photography and videography for my job so I'm always curious to see what gear other people are using.

Glad you enjoyed the review, Hunter! This one is definitely worth a pickup.
For this video I used my Sony A7IV which I’ve had for awhile and have used for other videos but plan to use it more because I like the video quality from it. Thanks for the feedback 😀.

I love Miller's Crossing. It's one of those movies where I don't know anyone in real life who doesn't find it boring. My recommendation is to watch it on a Saturday afternoon with no distractions-not when you're bored, but when there's nothing new you'd rather watch. That's the only way certain movies work for me.

Miller’s Crossing still remains my favorite Coen film.

Thank you James, immersive as always with your reviews and commentary. I'll be getting the disc probably July sale, have seen it so many times already that I can wait. The actress who plays Brolin's wife, Kelly Macdonald, is excellent in her limited role. She pulls off the rural Texas small town country girl impeccably. After watching I was convinced she was a native Southerner maybe from rural Texas just like Tommy Lee Jones who acts with his natural country Texas accent. Nope, she is a refined and native big city lady of Glasgow, Scotland. Hearing her speak naturally in an interview was startling revelation:)

Glad you enjoyed the review, Pete! I did forget to mention in the video how surprised I was with Ms. MacDonald’s true Scottish accent. Good actress.

My favorite Coen Brothers movie goes between No Country and Fargo. They’re both great for different reasons. Great review. Can’t wait to check out the disc myself!

Great review, James. The 2009 Collector's Edition Blu-ray, though OOP, is also worth checking out for the hard-core fans who every special feature released

I agree about the film, not sure if I need to double dip. I haven't rewatched this often. Overall very tempting during a sale. Excellent video as always.

Just need There Will Be Blood in the collection! From the same year and shot in/around the same part of Texas!

Great release from Criterion but not lots of bells and whistles which is fine. The Big Lebowski is probably my favorite Coen Bros movie along with No Country for Old Men and True Grit is great too. I liked Millers Crossing but abit long and slow moving and not as good as Goodfellas or American Gangster, but still decent I liked some of the characters

No Country for Old Men was a long time coming! 🤓 I'm still waiting for O Brother Where Art Thou and The Man Who Wasn't There tho... Those would look amazing on 4K

The Big Lebowski 4k is an incredible upgrade from the bluray!

I honestly didn't see a big leap from the blu ray. At first I thought it was because I own a low budget 4k TV, but some oled owners felt the same.

Not an enormous leap over the blu-ray but I found it to be a slightly refined image.

Give Millers Crossing a full viewing. It’s really good. Not on the level of No Country for Old Men but I’d say on the same level as Blood Simple

Sorry won’t be buying this one. My $4 blue ray from Miramax sounds and looks great…Criterion collection is becoming too expensive
