Hey Roodie we opened 2 LOTR Collectors Boxes 2 weeks ago. They didn't have any card valued over $18 in both my box and my brothers box. Then my mom opened her 2 boxes and nailed 3 The One Rings, lotr cabal coffers, lotr Urborg black land, 2 Nazgul and more! Hope you get great pulls too.

This is actually my biggest complaint with the overall great set. They should have tinted the map lands the appropriate colors, it looks like all forrests.

there is _some_ value, nothing awesome (except for the psychotic couple < TheOneRing ; OrchishBowmaster>) but some for-fun stuff like Gilrael and the entire Food theme
anyway, I understand those "morons" in a sense that it's work for them, but ...
WotC did mistakenly put a crazily high price tag in the first place; THAT was an error
Also, RL surely is a repulsive force for new players

The One Ring has already been found, and it's super easy to tell by looking in one spot whether it's a serialized card or not. Same spot on every card 👍

@KMVS8686 There are other one ring cards but they aren't serialized, Rudy pulled one of them at minute 5:45 I have one as well, non foil, worth around $60 right now.

Ya, if you check the stats on wotc's page about possible pulls in that slot there is a certain % chance for that to happen. (Just checked. it's a 9% chance in that slot). why do they make it so confusing?
@@J_Dubb1 What bothers me is that there is an exclusive uncommon that's not part of the normal card pool of the set.
@@Wizi3lizz I think you still have a chance to get it in the normal uncommon slot as well, but I have not opened enough collector boxes to know for sure. If that is the case then I agree completely.

4th* slot. Also not sure if you're watching it sped up, but he while he moved through all of the cards quickly, it was still spread well enough that we'd have easily been able to see it. Now would Rudy have recognized it? Maybe, maybe not 😅. But they look different enough that I think he would've caught it as well

This is the first opening of these packs I've seen. Man I gtta be honest I'm not very impressed, even M20 was more fun to open. Maybe I'm getting old and mad that I couldn't buy into this set.

He lost the spark a looong time ago. Early on he knew the sets and the cards, and enjoyed the openings. Now its all about the big picture, fluctuations in sealed box prices, Hasbro stock prices, serialized chase cards, etc. He just plows through the packs, occasionally appreciating a piece of the artwork.

@@marcmarc1967 I have to say something in favor to Rudy: unless he can/wants to actually spend lots of hours a day contemplating M:tG, it's really hard to deeply enjoy anything since we are bombarded with spoilers, hype, and Secret Lairs while the incoming/current set is still not finished (nor at even half of its "lifetime")
I pulled 4 extended One Rings and I offloaded those with a quickness. I can’t imagine they stay at $50+ honestly. Especially as they are a hot contender to get banned here soon. It will always hold value but I could see it dropping to around 20-30 here eventually.
That first box was heat. You hit everything you wanted to hit other than a Sol Ring.

It’s not low key been talked about for months as the white remand, and remand is considered one of the breakout counterspells of magic history. Literally the opposite of low key, it’s been highly anticipated 😂
Rulings
6/16/2023 If a spell is returned to its owner's hand, it's removed from the stack and thus will not resolve. The spell isn't countered; it just no longer exists. This works against a spell that can't be countered.

Yet another example of Wizards charging high prices for a product and not giving much value in return. We used to buy several cases of sealed products but now we wait around 6 months to buy some singles. Our group did not buy any sealed boxes of LOTR and Commander Masters. We saved thousands of dollars. Thank you for the video.

Wizards can influence it based on the power of the cards, but too good and you complain about power creep!
They also can increase value by increasing prices thus rarity
But in the end, they don't choose the ratio
If they lowered the packs to reflect the average "value" within, the value would drop even more!
@@Tylerino I understand the economics. I blame the players who continue to fall for Wizards so-called gimmicks and keep paying these high prices. There is nothing I can do about it so I choose not to buy the product unless there is a huge discount. To each their own. I still enjoy playing Commander and having drafts at the kitchen table.

Unfortunately paper magic is all but dead. They have literally priced the common person out. Last Friday at my lgs we had 6 players.. We literally use to have at minimum 30.... it's sad..

Just checked MTG Goldfish and that one ring extended is worth 75$ according to them. Where is Rudy getting his prices that he "just checked"? I want to buy some of these 30$ One rings......
Non foil extended art one ring is around 50 dollars.
They were 30-35 dollars for a week in mid June

The reason the packs are so glued togather is to stop people from gently opening the packs, look for the One Ring and then reseal and resell them
