Great video. This could totally be a series! I’m a paddler currently and would like to add a pedal drive at some point I’m between a few different ones when I upgrade!
I'm a Vanhunks Elite Pro Angler user that it IS stable, but it certainly has some storage issues that you'll have to work around especially if you use the pedals and lose the storage box. There's plenty of open deck but not that much actual storage if you compare it to boats that have a big front hatch.
Anyone’s thought on this. I am a first time kayaker wanting to get into kayak fishing. I am a big guy. I am checking out the big fish 120 and the big fish 108 which would you guys go with. I was thinking the 108 because it would be easier to use.
Man, my brother, that was a good breakdown of yaks I wish there was one that would have made your list the perception outlaw 11.5 at 35 wide 78 pounds weight and can hold 425 pounds super stable platform
I had the preception outlaw. It's stable don't get me wrong but the big fish 120 is at least 2 or 3 times more stable. Sold the preception and a pelican catch mode 110 because the big fish is just the best all round paddle kayak I've owned.
Another banger video for us bigger dudes! One of the things I will be looking for in the not-to-distant future is getting a good stable paddle kayak to go with my Old Town Predator PDL. Lastly, thanks for the shout-out.
Big dudes need good options! Too many flakey kayaks out there and we can’t be out here struggling 😂 Really loving the idea of the unlimited with the xi3 but I’ve got so much work into the autopilot, idk if I’d want to start over. Appreciate you Trever!
Been doing research for my first purchase and think I’ve settled on the Kaku Zulu. I’m in Colorado and will mostly be fishing ponds, small lakes and reservoirs and love the hybrid SUP versatility to use as a swimming or hanging out in the water platform.
What are the kayaks that you buy for paddling but upgrade later for pedal or motor. Also what is the best paddle kayak that you can just upgrade to a motor later in your opinion. I just feel right now buying a motor is cheaper than the drive systems out there.
@@bruce3579 they are both good but serve different purposes. Big water has less primary stability and more secondary stability. Cuts through waves better. Same drives and warranties.
@@BeardedDadFishing thanks for taking the time to tell me that I'm looking into buying my first. Looks like I'll be getting the sportsman 120 for my lakes in Southern ohio
They are stable in their own ways. BW is great for slicing through wakes and waves. Tons of secondary stability. Sportsman 120 has both primary and secondary stability but is made for a more standing platform IMO.
The Lietime Yukon 116 holds 350lbs. When I bought mine, mid last year, after taxes it was around $630. I'm 6 foot 1 inch around 280lbs. So far I like the Yukon. It is lacking on some stuff but a great cheap first kayak.
@@BeardedDadFishing the Lions making a sb against the chiefs would've been hard in this house hold 😂. The eagles losing in the playoffs and the last few games was crazy to me because they where so dominant almost all season.
It's hard to believe there is a more stable kayak than the wilderness recon 120. 12 ft, 38 inches wide, 450 lb capacity. You are falling off this boat before it flips, lol.

What’s the name of that cross bar that’s on the feel free at the 4:04 time frame
Excellent list! I dream of the Unlimited.
A buddy of mine fishes out of an unlimited and they are pretty sweet!
You and me both! That thing is a beast!
Solid break down of all these yaks bro! Great video!🤘🏼 I’m all gitty about getting back on open water
Appreciate it bro!! Same here! Almost that time 🔥

Great feedback. Thanks for sharing!
You left out Wilderness Systems Recon 120. Great fishing kayak with great stability and weight capacity.
Heard great things about the recon 120!
Great list, Jay.
I’m not in the market for any of these right now but I love that Bonafide SS127.
That bonafide looks clean!!!
Great video. Solid work good sir, the deck on the unlimited is really interesting. Lots of great options.
Thanks my guy! If I can go back, I might have gone with the unlimited. It’s a wild kayak!

Both are stable options. 120 would offer more stability but also is a heavier vessel. So depends what you NEED in a kayak. Lots of similarities.

Good choice!
Is there a difference in molded vs adjustable foot rests, or is it all just comfort/ personal preference??
It’s all about adjustability. They do the same thing, just customized to your height.
Sold my Kaku and purchased an Unlimited. Was a great decision for me.
The unlimited is a tempting option!
What was wrong with the kaku
@@williewilliams6163 Nothing was really wrong. Kayak performed well. It was the seat. I didn’t like the seat.

Is the sportsman 120 the same as the big water?
No sir. The big water is in the sportsman lineup but it’s different than the 120

How does the Predator or Big Water hold up to the Sportsman 120 in regards to Stability?

Im looking for kayak i had pelican catch mode 110 it seem little wobbly im about 300lb what u think good kayak would be around 900$
I’ve got two videos specifically for big guy kayaks. Check em out 🙏🏽
Who makes that rod rack at 4.05
No sure it’s a video I found online.
Thanks for watching man!
You need to test the new Manta Angler from Lifetime. It's way better than these for stability imo.
I had the feel free 11.5 great kayak, I fished the 1000 islands and finger lakes with it. sadly I sold it and bought a boat
Finger lakes are awesome! Glad you liked it 👌🏽
diablo paddlesports was not on the list.
Never heard of them.
@@BeardedDadFishing best boat for fly fishing out of.

How about them chiefs 🏹👑😂 let's gooooooo baby... Dad joke of the day 9ers 😂

these kayaks are waaaay too expensive
Stable kayaks will typically be more expensive
