    Our need for the Dewalt Dw089LG Green Line Laser comes down to some of the same principals as life. How many items can you juggle at once before something falls and breaks? We can only do so many things in life and also on each task we have on the jobsite or home improvement.
    While Dewalt is trying to make it easier to hold multiple things by making some of the lighter, like the 4 foot carbon fiber level, the reality is, if you want a good job done, one has to concentrate on a single task at hand. This green line laser allows you to easily and comfortably see the laser line on the wall and complete a layout or nail up without the need of a level. We found this very helpful when trimming up some cabinets in our shop as we only had to hold the wood and a nailer; compared to holding the wood, a level and a nailer.

    I just purchased mine today after my pls360 gave up on me and it is an excellent upgrade, the locking pendulum is one of my favorite things about dewalt lazers I'm slowly switching my company's lazers from pls to dewalt.

    Used a Cross line for the first time roughing in electrical. Mine is a Dewalt green crossline. Made the job quite easy inside the home but but very difficult to use outside even on a cloudy day. Very hard to see the green line. I would highly recommend these lasers.

    DEWALT has a pair of glasses and a detector card which allows you to see the laser better. They also have a small electronic laser detector which is color specific as is the detector card.

    I use line lasers all the time at work, it's nice to see one that is rechargeable like that. The AA batteries get annoying.

    The metal slide you are missing the metal insert piece which makes it slide super smooth. Mechanical adjustments would suck

    Also if you use something that is about the same color to spot the laser you can see it much better. With the red ones I use a piece of cardboard off a Hilti box (they are usually always red) best laser card you can use.

    I agree the green is easier to see. Nice that it is on the 12 volt platform so you can change out the battery. Thanks for the review Brian.

    I think this review is 80% spot on!
    These lasers are typically used by tilers... which he forgot to mention, a small mistake. But shows the lack of experience he has on site... a "tool guy"
    Might be worth asking the professionals what they think?
    It would of paid off to do a comparison from the old Red dewalt laser to the new, along with other brands (which you did)
    7/10 for information

      Nearly every trade uses them. Cabinet installers, dropped ceiling installers, ect. Being an electrician i use them for conduit runs and lining up lights. I can only assume you are a tiler.

    I like and want this laser, but all I want to know is can it also be used to plumb walls while framing? Every video I watch people talk about it, show it on, but never show, or say if it can be use to plumb walls while framing.

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dave trettel It can, but for me, when framing, I use a level. IMHO, a level is easier and faster.

      dave trettel is that a serious question?? It's a line laser... I.S.M'S use it to shoot track and plumb up studs

      The crosshair at the bottom lines up with the cross hair at the top for a plum measurement. You then run your verical lines for where the rest of the track will be laid out. Hilti came out with one of these lasers if you are still interested link: www.hilti.com/c/CLS_CORDLESS_TOOLS_7123/CLS_CORDLESS_MEASURING_TOOL_7123/r10101743

    How do you use the cross laser level on the roof pitch 12 12 so that you can put your metal roof panels on straight? the line goes left or right nephew go off center. How do you know where center is to begin with?

    I got my laser level today. One thing i notice is if you look at the unit while it is on the light seems to pulse. the projected line is steady. but the light eliminating from the unit brightens and softens several times a second. Is this normal? or is it part of the full time pulse feature.

    • @ronh9384
      @ronh9384 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your Hunting Buddy Yes that is normal. They use a pulse to save battery power and it also makes the laser diodes last longer. Mine does the same thing. You just don’t notice it when looking at the wall whereas you can notice it when looking directly at the laser which you should not do.

      You can find them on ebay for about $400 US. It might be better to get one from a big box store like home depot though because you get a receipt / warranty. Home depot is about $470 with tax.
