this game has a lot of mario sunshine elements. the cozy canyon is a copy of bianco hills. the character controls are the same. the interactive things in the environment are as well and there's more. I do suggest finding some footage of a play through of bianco hills from mario sunshine to see the comparison.

Seems competent for sure. I am a fan of the airship cas' travelling around like Windwaker, but having a fast travel as an option also is definitely a good thing, that probably would have stopped people complaining about Windwaker's ocean travelling.
I don't know why, but I hope this game gets really dark. You learn the basics and all that like in the video, but then something happens and it turns into this big ass survival adventure. (Not necessarily horror, just this dark and grizzly story)

Looks like a postapocalyptic Pokémon game in which all Pokémon have gone extinct and the kids are now doing parkour and scavenging as a hobby, because monster battles are obviously no longer a thing.
I saw the tall patch of grass and the tutorial saying to use right bumper to go into first person and actually thought for a second that this was going to be some sort of Metal Gear Solid 3 for kids. Oh I can only dream.

The game is worth the ten euros it is selling for, and it should be expanded a lot over the course of its time in Early Access. Definitely worth it if you are a fan of 90s collectathons. Will definitely help ease the wait for A Hat in Time and Yooka Laylee!
Well... it surely feels like Super Mario 64 / Sunshine but it still seemed quite decent... that's more than you can say for most of the games who end up on this man's playlist.
With a bit of refinement, this game can actually be great. It reminds me alot of Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie. It is nice to see classic style platforming and collecting going on in a game again.
Now this game is definitely something that has potential to be something special. Nothing wrong with good ol' 3D Mario physics. If this game adds something unique (like power ups or interesting levels) that differentiates it from its inspiration, I could see it becoming popular with enough polish.
I think the game probably could have offered you a prompt when you weren't pointing your ship right at the canyon. But then, that's what Early Access can do for you as a designer, you find out where players struggle or need direction.
I like this game. It feels like a homage to a lot of older games such as Mario 64, Chibi robo, Sonic (before he was shit), and so on. This will be a game I will be keeping an eye on as it has some serious potential to be the next big early access success.
I can see several classic influences in this game: the character design reminds me of Legend of Zelda, the digging and such reminds me of Animal Crossing, definitely some Super Mario influence; it looks very neat

the music in cozy canyon kinda sounds like a whimsical version of angel on the centerfold.
Mario style platforming, Wind Waker style cel shaded graphics and some pretty relaxing music. Looks pretty good, hope they get through Greenlight.
