back when I was spinning 10 or so years ago I wasn't that crazy about Icey but man his tracks sound RIDIC these days! really representing breakbeat in the states IMO
I agree with Shea and Fooldall1! Those days were great! There will never be a time or place like that ever again in my eyes. Orlando was the spot!! Club Firestone was always a great time. I lived in the Cocoa Beach area for 7 yrs. "I'd like to give a shout out to Outter Limits/ Club Impact! Sorry I threw baby powder all over your floors:D"
He’s the most down to earth dude too..just completely normal. I’ve had the absolute pleasure meeting him a few times..he was single for a brief moment n I was too and he asked me to join him on tour..n I wanted to..but I said no...I didn’t want to get hurt. N I’m not a groupie. But damn...What a dumb ass I was!!
The Edge was the shiz. Use to go there all the time. Was the best dance club in O-Town. Totally miss that place. Can't believe they turned it into a country bar. 8 seconds wasn't it? That still there?
VJIVlive and jkn91375, I lived & party in Orlando in the late 90's to the early 2000, and I know the Dropshop where I would get all the Florida break beat CD's. U also listed all my fav DJ's Sandy Baby Anne, Knightlife, etc. We would go to the BlueRoom every saturday night, and then party til dawn at a friend's house. So much fun!! Meet great friends!!
yep I used to hit cyber zone and la vila after cyber zone closed...those were the days...impossible for it to EVER be that awesome again...unless people start distributing good rolls again...
90's in Cocoa Beach, Brassy's was the club to hit (and trip) when the house scene was huge. Then over to Orlando to party hard on the weekends at Beechum Theater (Oz or Egypt depending on the day) I remember Kimbal and Icey there before anyone knew their names....
IMO DJ Icey pretty much made breaks popular in FLA in the 90s and I think peaked about 2000-2001. After that the whole scene changed, clubs got shut down, anti-rave laws were being put into place and the drugs weren't as good anymore. It's a crying shame too..
hell yeah cy6erzone in orlando and 600 north in daytona were the shit in the late 90s wish they were still around dj sandy is the lucciest man alive for marrying the rave queen
Impat 1998 I saw almost all DJs and bands every saturday night Crazy shit, cops with masks all over the place but the music was the best I had ever experience, at the end they owner got murdered over some money, they cut his head off, his name was Randy Johnson R.I.P. Remember the best after partys where in cocoa in a house that had a lake and lots of chicks
That must be why so many breaks fans such as myself hate trap music so much, trap is just a continuation of what you are talking about and needs to be purged from rave culture.
One of the greatest mood setters of the breakbeat genre. May breakz never die. ~P.L U.R.

@redfisher49 One in South Florida would be great too. Back in the early 2000s we had an Ultra radio station out of Miami. But it is now gone :^(
Hay, youngen here.. can someone tell me when DJ Icey was at his peak and when breakdance was the most popular? Thanks!
IMO DJ Icey pretty much made breaks popular in FLA in the 90s and I think peaked about 2000-2001. After that the whole scene changed, clubs got shut down, anti-rave laws were being put into place and the drugs weren't as good anymore. It's a crying shame too..
