No harm in keeping the machine clean. It is too pretty to let all that muck sit in the pan(s). Our table shares space with our forge so we have to be mindful of the dust getting to the table. We keep it clean and covered when not in use, and oil the rails and threads regularly. We finally got ours up and running in November and I am just amazed at what we can do with it. After a few rounds of draining and cleaning, we are also considering a few mods, when we have time. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear you are having success with your table. For the price I think it is well above expectations. I have a 3’ x 4’ sheet of thin aluminum that I leave on the table to reduce evaporation but if I had a forge running like yo do I’d also have to find a way to cover the rails.

@@CustomCreations3 We have a shower curtain over the slats which helps to keep the water from evaporating. I use a flat sheet to cover the table, rails, and torch head when not in use. Forces me to keep it clean. ;)

Watch you videos all the time. I'm a 73 senior with hearing loss in my left ear. However so far this is the only one of your videos where I could not hear any sound through my headphones.Thought it was a problem with my settings. I then realized that if I flip my headphones around I could hear you. Guess it was only recorded in mono. Have learned a lot through your videos.

Yea there were a few videos where the mic went bad and I had to send it off for replacement...sorry. I just turned 70 so I feel your pain on the hearing...too many rock concerts when younger and decades of racing without hearing protection!!! Wish someone would have warned me but was so stupid rebellious would not have listened anyway!! :) thx for the kind remarks and it is good knowing my stuff is useful!

I will have to make an extra effort to follow your advice once my Pro arrives. Unfortunately access to all sides will be a bit of a challenge where I am setting my table up but I will have to make due. Thanks for posting.

I’m interested in more information on the filter and what was the filter attached to in order to get that dirty. I put filters on the front of my air conditioner and they get that dirty in a woodworking shop. I can’t run the AC in the winter so that’s why I’m curious about what it was attached to?

Hey David, my shop has central air and heat and this is the filter on the air handler so during the heat cycle shop air goes through the filter and is heated before being distributed via a main duct near the ceiling peak. The shop is well sealed so shop air is well recirculated. I notice the filter gets dirty when I do a lot of welding also but the plasma cutting is the worst

Thank you for your videos, you must have been a teacher. If not, then you should have been. Your attention to detail on your machine in the past several videos that I've watched have given me confidence in pursuing a Langmuir machine. They should use your videos to instruct people. Glad I found you. What torch are you using? I don't believe I've ever heard that mentioned. I've just purchased a razorcut 80i and am wondering if that is overkill for the langmuir pro. I hear that I will get a longer duty cycle out of the bigger machine. Not sure if that is even needed.

Thx for those kind words. I am a retired engineer so no teaching background but I have mentored a number of junior engineers and enjoyed the challenge! My wife is the educator…teacher, principal, and director so perhaps I picked up some knowledge living with her for 40 years! 🤓 I can assure you I’ve been in trouble with the principal for 40 years! 😈
The torch that came with my Hypertherm 45XP is a Duromax machine torch…have been happy with it so far! You won’t be sorry for the larger machine…gives you the flexibility to cut thin to thick materials. If you are not already a member of the Langmuir forum I recommend becoming one. There are lots of great folks who are good about helping answer questions. You can search to see what others are doing with their razorcut machines, etc.
