Brooo I always try to rotate tables, but customers always wanna sit where ever the fuck they want and i end up triple seating one of the servers 😩😩😩 so how do you convince them to sit where you need them to sit
Jenniful You don’t. If they don’t want to sit in the spot you need them to sit at and they request to sit in a different spot instead, you can NOT tell them they can’t sit there and there’s nothing that you can do to convince them to sit somewhere else other than their preferred seating. That’s what I hate about my job the most. When the customers decide to sit somewhere else other than where I am trying to seat them at, the servers get pissed at me because I didn’t seat them in their section. Hopefully, the servers you work with are more understanding.

Uh probs you're location that sucked, being a host is a pretty easy gig, you just greet people and help the servers bus tables. You get paid well, and if you bus a lot of tables you get to share tips with the servers.
MegaGiants89 Hey I know it's been a few weeks since you commented, but I'm the senior host at a Chili's in Tennessee and my sidework includes wiping down high chairs/boosters, doing a bathroom check and wiping windows once every shift, and refilling silverware. My main duties are seating guests (and helping if they need sauce or a manager or a spoon or anything) getting open menu counts every 15 minutes for the kitchen, getting occasional spot sweeps, and collecting and restocking menus often. I feel bad that the original commenter didn't like the Chili's they worked at, mine has been a wonderful place to work for the last almost 5 months, and everyone there is very pleasant and kind to me. It just depends on the location you work at. At least worth applying, Im so glad I did, it's definitely the best job i've ever had and I wouldn't trade the experiences and friendships with coworkers I've made for the world. Didn't mean to get too personal there, but with my personal experience working there, I can't say enough good about Chili's.

velvetbeauty07, Chili’s does not do reservations and hosts don’t answer phones there. But they might answer phones at other restaurants.
At my workplace hostesses do answer the phone, and take reservations.
