Just like Brady - Mahomes' ability to win games in the 4Q, over the last 7 years, and make THAT play to pull it off is why you take him over anybody else. You cannot coach that. I don't care how much you hate him, or root for him to lose every week, he is unquestionably the clutchest and most innate QB in the league. He has 3 rings and 2 MVPs with only one top 5 scoring defense (2023) to date, and all but two were outside the top 10. I'm no Chiefs fan, but objectively speaking he is THAT guy. I like Bedard, generally, but I also disagree with him plenty. Defining your entire opinion on Marvin Harrison Jr based off a single game versus Christian Gonzalez, a guy who we consider a top 5 or top 3 corner, is just silly. He has 700 yards on 47 catches for an average of 14 YPC and he has 7 TDs on the season. With three games left he could be a 1000 yard rookie WR with 10 TDs, what the hell are we smoking? I understand JJ and some other guys have put up dumby stats but that doesn't mean that is the standard for all rookies. He is 8th in the league in YPT and and 6th in the league in TDs, among ALL players not just rookies.
Another point on this, are Patriots fans OK? Because Maye is not exactly having a CJ Stroud level rookie season but he is getting more praise both from Greg in this segment and fans in general than Harrison is getting. So just keeping it straight, if Harrison doesn't get 1400 yards his rookie year he is not worth the pick....but Nabors is also worth the 6th overall because he has...900 yards? And Maye was TOTALLY worth the third even though he has worse stats than Shroud did across his first 9 games.... Context is very important in these conversations. This idea that standards have changed in the NFL and the game is inherently different is simply not true. We are just seeing some impressive outlier stats.

There are many QBs that could have had a better career had they gone to a better situation (personnel and coaching). Look at Young. It is a possibility that he could have had a MUCH better year last year if he had his current coaching staff instead of what was there at the time. It is very likely that Stroud's numbers would have been similar to Maye's had he been drafted into NE this year. Pats fans (and that does not include me) are hyping Maye because 1) they need something to have hope for and 2) he truly has been able to at least show signs of being a potentially great QB even with the worst OLine in the NFL (as rated by PFF as well as others who do analytics about this) and no legitimate #1 receiver. BTW, look at the excuses that get made THIS year about Stroud when he has had a less than impressive game (and a sophomore season that many analysts have found to be disappointing). They usually referred to his line not playing well and his #1 receiver getting injured for part of the season

Allen is clearly better than Mahomes and it ain’t close. So is Burrow. Mahomes does have “something special” and it’s called Andy Reid. The entire chiefs offense is a bag of tricks, misdirections and screens that rely on RAC, elite wr quickness and blocking in space. Mahomes is asked to make 2-3 exceptional throws a game, a far easier job than Allen’s or Burrow’s.
Okay Mahomes is better because Josh Allen is just like the Crystal Sage in Dark Souls 3. He’s great when he’s ahead but once you get him on his heels he sucks
Burrow is Carson Palmer 2.0. Throws a pretty ball but Zero clutch gene, carried by elite receivers. It’s impossible for any great qb to be 5-8 with prime Chase and Higgins.
