Well you got lucky, i installed this about a week ago and slowly finding out all the bad sides. 1 thing if forgot to think about is that i can never go back to my old cluster because it will no longer show the correct mileage, i drove about 500km with the new one, decided to check what would happen if i returned to stock and it is still where i left it. (but the digital one reads the correct mileage) Another thing is the loss of my combi ECU and that's how i just ended up over here but this video is way above my head to do myself :-)
my guess is that the errors are about the actual display of the cluster. it has some nice fade in/fade out on ignition switch which I think are driven and monitored by the cluster itself. I'm skeptical about being able to code the monitoring out though because there are no clusters without displays.
I like the analytical approach to solve this problem. Not one which i would have come up with. Well done 👍 But to be honest, this style of dashboard layout is totally not my thing. I need to see gauges with swaying needles. Guess i'm getting old 😎

I can send you an update for the cluster. I got the same for F15 and it shows me the check service and much more. You can setup much more with the new update.
@@MOvidiu can you now Setup the service intervals in the cluster? Does it show you oil temperature? If yes it's the newest firmware of the Linux cluster
I bought one 2 weeks ago and I send it back after a week of using. First off all it won’t register new mileage and the car , second of all service required not display anymore, third is the speed it’s not the same it’s 2 miles slower and the problems they keep going . But what made my to send it back was the fuel tank , it won’t show the real fuel on the tank and when I switched back to my original one even that one won’t show the real amount. Over all don’t bother with this unless you r this guy and know all this stuff how to mend it
Dear sir , I need your help in a problem which i m facing after replacing a used EPS IN 525D F10 . After the replacement i took a trial of about 5 kms & it works fine but after the trial upon closing the bottom cover , when started the car EPS was very hard like manual steering . Applied ISTA+ THE EPS module is RED . Upon somebody advice i tried the flexray module initialization but this failed everytime . Could you pl guide me on this ? Regards . LK DUBEY
The model on the video is based on CIC It depends on your version of E70. If I remember correctly on E70/E71 you have both of, depending of the model year (if i’m correct the change was in 2008) CCC : Before 2008 (LVDS cable) CIC : 2008 to 2013 Hope it helps you 🤷♂️ 🖖

thanks for the video, there is so much knowledge and work going into this.... At my opinion it doesn't worth it, for an average guy. It´s much easier to install a android radio, it´s plug and play and you can keep all the original features

@@MOvidiuIf you do more changes to this car, I would like to know the VIN code of the car to better understand what challenges you face and what is possible to change and fit to an older generation of F25s. To be honest I am looking forward, maybe already this fall, to change to a MY2017 F25 30d with "all" options that were available on cars imported to Sweden, if the prices go down "a little bit" more. One problem is that I want a carbon black with oyster interior, and most (over 90 %?) of which have black leather interior, which is boring. Swedish second hand cars are cheaper than corresponding cars in Germany! But now I have bought spare parts for another 1,000 Euro for my 2011 X3 30d... What can you expect from a car with 255,000 km on the clock? In fact there is no big emigiate problems, mostly normal wear and tear. I like the car, not too big, but big enough to offer some protection if I hit a moose, which I have done once 30 years ago. By the way, your garage looks like the one you had earlier... 😁😁😁 So now we can start to see some more fascinating stuff... Have a nice summer!

diode isolate your sensors inputs so both clusters reads as a single device.
I've tried that, and it is not working. The measurement is done through a voltage drop by the temp sensor resistance.

Instead of a CAN filter would a CAN clamp not work to not actually send data back into the can system but only read it

Kombi is the cluster. Cbs is relted to service intervals.

Never use more than 350 360 degree on your soldering iron/station cause you will destroy the tips and burn the flux very fast

ID4motion is only for the old E series! The car in this video is an F25 , the cluster is a Linux type
