The watch is too busy. It has some funky dimensions too. I understand the thickness to acomodate the movement but a 23mm lug width? Also, if I'm getting a spring drive I want to see that glorious sweep on a prominent seconds hand, not a sub-dial. I know you can activate the chronograph but I'd want to have it running all the time. This would weird me out. Good review, Brad.

23mm lug width is important because a watch's lug width should be at least half of its diameter, otherwise, the case can wobble and be unsteady on the wrist.
You don't need the smooth sweep ALL the time to appreciate Spring Drive. The insane accuracy, great power efficiency, and higher tolerance to shock are sufficient even without a constantly giant running seconds.

"I want to see that glorious sweep on a prominent seconds hand, not a sub-dial" - agreed

Sometimes less is more lads. A date, power reserve, GMT, running seconds, Chrono minutes, Chrono hours….. it’s just too busy for me.

On the contrary for me. This is the absolute pinnacle of practical mechanical watch wearing. Chrono, GMT, and Date are the trifecta of basically every complication you could actually need in daily life. Perpetual calendar and minute repeater are nice and all but they serve zero actual practical purpose.
If you see it in person, the layered nature of the finishing also allows for a strong sense of focus that makes it less busy in practice.

@@sylinmino You make a strong argument, ultimately for me I’m not spending this amount of money on a watch for practicality, it also has to be pleasing to look at and that’s where it falls down in my opinion. But heaven forbid we all found beauty in the same watches, the variety is what keeps it interesting.

@@ProfessorPesca fair point. I do happen to also really like how it looks though, so we can agree to disagree
