I'm from Malaysia, and no, that's not true. We can wear yellow outfits even today. While there was a protest in 2016 to bring down the then-corrupt prime minister, wearing yellow clothing wasn't actually 'banned' per se. The color was just sensitive because it happened to be the theme color of the rally. Then we moved on, continued with our lives, and wear whatever color we want. Nobody ended up in jail for wearing yellow.🤷♀
Durian has a strong scent but it absolutely does not smell like rotten eggs. And it's just banned from hotels and public transports. They have durian buffet restaurants and it is absolutely delicious. King of fruits indeed
