- To me there's nothing more exciting than putting together a new palette with all my favorite colors! I bought a plastic palette with plenty of wells to organize them and have them together in one place. You definitely don't need this many colors but I've collected them over the past few years so my collection has grown. I'll link to all the colors I mention below in case there are any you're interested in trying. The 8 colors with asterisks are my top favorites I'd recommend starting out with. I hope this video is helpful and I'd love to know what your favorite colors are so let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for this, I am a complete beginner and I have been wanting to use tube paints, but never really knew the best way to set them up and mix them in my pallette, so this was very helpful to me. And thanks for the reminder to make a swatch!!! Truly appreciate this!!!!
You're welcome! Setting up a palette and choosing your colors is so much fun! Happy painting!
Also, one green I didn't include on here that I can't live without is Undersea Green by Daniel Smith. Love it!
What a great idea! I love how you thoughtfully organized everything.
Thanks, Jake! ❤️
Nice color choices. I noticed that your palette set up is practically identical to mine, going from yellows to reds, then greens, then blues to black. I need to try some of your asterisk selections, such as the Jaune Brilliant. Cheers! :)
Thank you! Yes, Jaune Brilliant #1 by Holbein is a favorite of mine. Nothing better than finding new colors. Thanks for your comment!
Hiii! I love your color selection, everything is so we'll balanced and thought! Your colors and organization are awesome! Is the first time I hear about the brand American Journey! I wanted to ask, Is it a good brand? What are your thoughts about it?
Thank you so much! You definitely don't need this many colors but I have collected quite a few because I'm obsessed with watercolors. Yes, I have really liked the American Journey brand. The artist that recommended them was Janet Rogers. If you haven't heard of her look her up. She's amazing! Thanks for your comment.
Sitting the tops of paint in warm water loosens the paints I find
Oh, thanks for the tip! A couple of my paints are really stuck.
You shoudn't use student grade, with professional grade watercolors!! Specially if you are selling this art !!! You have Grumbacher and van gogh wich are student grade!!!
Good advice! I buy Winsor and Newton professional grade, Daniel Smith, and Holbein only now.
