      This new techno is higly influenced by the whole Richie Hawtin minimal trend. It's all a little darker than old school techno, and if it's compared to tribal, slower yet seems to me more creative with all the live sequencing involved!

    • @akinkunmicook2977
      @akinkunmicook2977 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I totally agree! The techno I remember from the 90s, was really fast (128bpm and up) & dissonant. This minimal techno/deep techno is slower and grooves more. It's also more dance friendly because it's slower. I love it!

    • @antonioperezmarco
      @antonioperezmarco 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's refreshing to finally see someone from the old techno days not criticizing newer techno haha. With all the new technology, techno has grown massively. You should have a look at someone like Kink, the guy isn't perfect but his show is amazing because of all he does

    The video is good, I like it, but to say it's showing off what he is like in the booth, but then we can barely see what he is doing in the booth, ruins the video. I'd rather it be one, or the other

    • @cassiusjb
      @cassiusjb 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've been watching DJs for years. The only way you're going to learn is by doing. :D No video is going to to it justice -- especially this complex set-up.

  • @davianjamesrzr

    horrible video, can't see what he's doing or how he's doing it, out of focus 90% of the time. I get that you have to make it visually entertaining because it's 2 hours long, but for the people who watch this I'm guessing most of them watch it to actually see whats going on.

    • @MIDIDesigner
      @MIDIDesigner 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      NI has been doing two types of videos for a while now. Clear, explanatory videos on one hand, and these strongly-filtered incomprehensible acid-trip videos on the other. Personally, I don't get much use out of the latter type... I'd definitely like to just see what he's doing, too.

    • @natashanasha8169
      @natashanasha8169 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can see what's he's doing quite clearly. It has effects on, but they are always in focus on his hands. I did watch in full hd on full screen tho. And, there's never enough of acid in our lives! :D

    • @davianjamesrzr
      @davianjamesrzr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ha, agreed with both of you. I love NI and am perfectly fine with a fun video once and a while, this one was just a little harsh on your eyes sometimes. Just when he was about to switch something up I was interested in, it fades to a skewed version of the mixer and I'm like......dammit...... I'd still prefer a standard version like the NI Sessions are done.

    NI, I love your products, you are without doubt at the cutting edge of electronic music, but this is just glorified self indulgence. This set could have been done easily without half of this stuff making the video look pretty. This could have been done with just the Tractor setup alone.

    • @antonioperezmarco

      Not really, considering all the sequencing, effect routing, looping, no. If you mean just the music, then yes, only traktor will do, but if you want to sequence in traktor, you'd lose one channel, meaning you can't really use all four like Chris is. Perhaps effecting is possible but you'd need quite the number of midi controllers to be able to do it all.

      I tried to connect when I listened Boris, but really, I don't feel his music at all. I don't, and I'll never really see what you like about his work, no soul, it doesn't have anything to make you feel like you are happy what you hear. But seems that it is about what we like, and we don't love the same music, wich is good. Don't get me like I hate, I just don't get it at all.
      If you love Boris, enjoy in his music! :-]
