Sorry for asking unrelated and irrelevant questions but can someone seriously tell me how is the scenario of ragging and stuff in IITs(in Bachelors and Masters). Many seniors in my college who rag us say that we are rather lucky to not have experienced the ragging in other colleges(they gave example of Jadavpur University and even said all old and top IITs). I have some idea regarding Jadavpur and that ragging does happen in there but from what I have heard, there's hardly any case of ragging in most top IITs. Can someone give me the accurate picture of the current scenario in IITs in this regard?

Is it jabardaati almost nanga karke chedna or do they make you all stand on one feet and making you carry 2 2litre filled water bottles on both hands, and forcing you to keep your hands straight up while standing on one leg for hours just because you are unable to remember the proper address of one senior, or the designation an ex-senior is working in CIL or just because your hostel batchmate got caught cheating in the exam and the seniors decide to punish all of us to "maintain unity within us". The seniors even threaten us and even made us run multiple (more than 10 at least) rounds of the campus (which is approx. 400 acres) in late at night, even when we are drowsy and really tired just for not being able to tell properly all the details of our seniors (like their address, stream, hostel room no.(even for the seniors who don't live in our hostel), etc. correctly) . They say that the seniors in IITs make the juniors do even worse stuff than this. How true it is?

Aur mera ek batchmate jisko dusre rounds mei Jadavpur (jo ki top college hai state ka) mila, vaha bhi ye saab cheez hota hai. Aur ye baat bhi sahi bola hai. Jo loog actually mei placement wagera mei properly involved hai, vo loog ye saab cheeze nahi karte, magar jo saale literally nalle hai, vo loog ye saab cheez mei sabse jyada involve hai. Unfortunately, hamara college bhi ye saab support kaar rha hai indirectly, kyu ki agar koi complain kaare bhi toh vo serious/strict action nahi lete. Ek banda FIR katwaya magar uska bhi utna fayda nahi hua. Hum NIT choor ke yaha aana pada cause yaha fees baas yearly ₹15k tha aur mere family ka financial situation bohot acha nahi tha. Nahi soche thee magar ki itna bekar situation mei aa phasenge
