Let me explain. In a spring reverb, the spring vibrates, and the diffetence between the string vibrating and the spring vibrating is the reverb you hear. With the optical sensors, an infrared light is shone across the spring at various places. When the spring vibrates, the light is interrupted and this is picked up as a "vibration". Having this near the ends of the spring will be a shorter and 'tighter' reverb, and in the middle will be a longer and more 'spacey' reverb. Hence in the sweep mode, it appears to change speed as the different light sensors are activated.
These game changer Audio pedals are incredible. Once i get a job and have paid for my driving lessons I’m gonna have to get their reverb and fuzz pedal. Along with a tone bender 1.5 of course
Considering you discovered the ctrl position in video, I'm guessing you didn't find the speed ramping options or the ability to stack two modulations...
Great demo. I’ve only just found out about this pedal and the more experimental sounds are exactly what I’ve been looking for. Out of stock at the moment but I’ve pre-ordered👍😊. In every demo I’ve seen the player is smiling.
Jeff Buckley FTW! I remember the first time I heard his cover of Hallelujah in college. I made my friend play it, well, many times in a row. I can't remember. It was college..
I recently bought one and it has ruined the sound of my Strymon Timeline for me. Real sounds just sound real. More depth, more space, and more feedback.
@@YesItsReallyKeith Yes, but you can control the stomp-feedback. on the backside there is a 3 way switch for hard, 1/2 control, and an off-position, were you get the natural stomp effect of an spring reverb. But, as captain said - you really need to read the manual. I'd read it before I got mine, but haven't been enough. The Pedal has so many controls... It's really marvelous.
I sold my Walrus Audio Mako reverb after hearing this. The R1 isn’t great on its best days but the Light is amazing. Probably the best pedal I’ve ever bought from a smiles and sheer amazement point of view.
@@jayandgem the reverse, duck, swell, and ping pong stuff from the Timeline is still cool; but the sound from a real spring is just so nuanced that any digital sound just can’t compare. It’s like they’ve been over engineered to sound too pristine.
You're both right about the wooshing red scanner light - Glen Larson (producer) took the Cylon scanner 'eye' from Battlestar Galactica and incorporated it into KITT on Knight Rider.
Thanks, this is the only video where I can hear what it does with music. All the other videos are drowning in the FX. Reverb is like salt for me, I dont put a tone in the soup. It just makes the tone more lively. Thanks : )
U have 2 spend like days and days with this pedal to understand the whole spectrum of the potential of this black box with the light inside. Have one of this. I like experiments and it fits just great! Don't forget it uses 500 mA so not every pedal board power supply has such option. Be very very accurate with Drive knob. It is very sensetive and makes what it is named for. Mixing 2 different reverb presets opens another level of possibilities. Fellows musicians are mad of how agile it is. Cinematic flawor and spring taste makes it a great instrument for creating different drone-ambient samples. I use it as a spring reverb in the end of the circuit [guitar->wah-compressor-overdrive/fuzz-phaser-delay-Reverb->amp] on gigs. But it totally openes in the studio work.
You guys have the opportunity to make a badass pedaltable. Ins&outs, power. It could be awesome. I mean the tabletop on a black draped box, sideways head with power supply is great and all...
Omg i love this pedal. 🥺 Immagine to use an ebow with the feedback option... You could get some awesome soundscapes with this. Love it... I hope you can get this in Denmark at a reasonable price. Keep up those videos lads. Kæmpe fedt Pete 💪😁
Gamechanger, Alexander Pedals and Earthquaker Devices are some of the few companies that are trying to innovate the pedal industry. A breath of fresh air after decades of thousands of boring tubescreamers clones and bland delays. We need NEW stuff, not reiterations of the old stuff.
yes indeed. I drives me nuts to know that we have all this technology and people are constantly trying to make it sound like some old stuff I sold back in the 80's because I didn't like it back then. new ideas and new sounds. thats the ticket.
ChaseBliss, Wampler, Walrus Audio, Keeley, Malekko, TC Electronic, Beetronics, Death by Audio, Dr. Scientist, Rainger Fx, Red Panda, ZVEX. To be honest I think most pedal companies tries to do that, I think it's rather "few companies" that don't - but the market share of cookie cutter stuff is higher.
@@RupeeRhod Wampler, Keely and TC Electronics do not push the bar further, they just do very high quality versions of old concepts. The real innovators out there, or people that just try to do even "weird" stuff, are very few compared to the total number of companies, even fewer taking in account market shares (everyone have, or had, at least one Boss pedal, Meris doesn't even come close to that). I can't say that I've ever felt excited about checking out a reverb pedal before, but this is amazing! I'd think that Bill Vencil at Chords of Orion would go crazy over this!
We enter a new realm of names for pedal companies: "No false modesty" seems a good on to me, as well as "Plenty of room", "Kick ass pedals", "Click&Play" and "Kick the bucket brigade"
It can sure do a lot of kooky things but built in effects aside I'm not entirely convinced about the base sound of the tank or the optical sensor sound I guess. It sounds a little bit "harsh" to my ears compared to a traditional tank. Hard to tell without trying it hands on.
'Hey, there is this new reverb pedal that works on an oldschool principle and looks tasty - what goes through your head when you hear about this product?' 'Can I scare my kids with it?' :)))
I think maybe the combining of momentary mode and exp pedal on the feedback was a bit of a miss. I reckon leaving it on in latch, and then controlling just the feedback with exp pedal is the idea, cause going from the completely dry to all of it using the momentary mode is a bit weird.

Few things are purer than the Captain's joy at some great Danish playing
Truer words never spoken
What an intro...more capo please, forget the friggin' cowbell.
That was hallelujah
And frustration when the Dane doesn’t STFU
That's fantastic!
I love it when a pedal company dares to do something different and expand the boundaries of imagination. ❤️
As a Reverb and Delay addict i'm totally in shock how good this is.
Great demo and playing!
It's truly a different take on the standard reverb pedal! Thanks for tuning in Elrondo
Thanks for the comment! :)
Got mine last week. It’s bloody marvellous. Love it. It’s staggeringly beautiful.
I could listen that purple tele with reverb all day.
The overtones on that spring are incredible
There’s no way I’d do that pedal enough justice to buy it, but my God does it sound incredible. Lovely playing as per Pete!
Sure you will eventually. I'm the same but I'm ordering the Headrest core and this pedal soon:-) I'll "grow" into it:-)
A boost pedal with built in Flamethrower would be awesome too .
Gamechanger: “Hold my beer!”

As somebody who generally don't like to play with Reverb, all I want to say is. This sounds EPIC & I probably want one.
At 5mins there is clean humour from Pete! Will wonders never cease!
Checking in to see what sounds you guys got with this.....
Considering you discovered the ctrl position in video, I'm guessing you didn't find the speed ramping options or the ability to stack two modulations...
That springs so real every time you step on it you knee yourself in the face
Stellar intro! Great sounding pedal. I kept expecting Lee to join in and start singing along.
8:50 is a perfect “Rising Sun” sound!
“House of rising Sun” rather!
One of the coolest pedals to come along in awhile.
Brilliant, stunning, spectacular. And the pedal is cool too!
Great demo. I’ve only just found out about this pedal and the more experimental sounds are exactly what I’ve been looking for. Out of stock at the moment but I’ve pre-ordered👍😊. In every demo I’ve seen the player is smiling.
Bloody hell Pete! You are a gem. Your playing is next level.
As a repairer I get to see most things, and for the first time in a long time I have the sensation
“I want one”

U2's The Edge will run 8 of these in series
Plus a couple delay pedals

Shopping for a new reverb. This is on the short list. Great playing, Pete!
Ive been waiting for this bad boy to release, got my preorder in already. STOKED!
Pete is the best! Masterful clean tone as always!

I love Danish Petes sense of humor. He should never change that about himself.
Good morning Gents! Killer intro!
This pedal is so good, it would put a spring in your step.
Lol you watch Uncle Doug's channel.....and if you don't you should lol
One of the most heartfelt, musical and sensible intro 🙌
When the Captain crosses his legs AND arms and just sits back and let Danish Pete play it's a good pedal and outstanding player.
I see Pete's intro was inspired by Paul David's video about Hallelujah haha
Ha, was just thinking that..
James Buckley version.
@@facetono You mean Jeff Buckley?
Hats off to Gamechanger. Pete’s practically got wood & I don’t blame him. It’s versitile & sounds beautiful
Pedal is cool, but Peet’s playing! Hallelujah!!!!!!
Ive never pre-ordered something so fast. this thing is next level.
I actually really liked the dissonant oscillating reverb sound.
This sounds incredible, both as a spring tank and as an experimental device. It’s not cheap, but I expected it to cost more if I’m honest

Great point, they should be pushing forward the cause of pedal furniture!
These folks come up with some great gear. Hope some day the can come up with a tremolo driven by gravitational waves something weird like that.

These guys are a good team.
Db meter went to 69 while they were talking about the bedroom mood lighting.
This channel is notorious for faux-mo teases; I'm surprised the video editor didn't highlight the 69 reading!
Nice
@@dostacos1 finally.
Golly!!! Im gonna have to grab one of these! The chops come with the pedal, right!?
I don't chase spring reverb but this was really really good just for that aspect alone.
I'm loving the videos guys, but where are the blindfold challenges. Haven't had one in ages. Bring them on 🤘
Nobody makes cooler pedals than these guys. The Automatone things come in second.

Awesome rendition of Master Of Puppets at the start Pete! Can't believe Metallica sounds so different with a bit of spring!
OBVIOUSLY JOKING

Ahhh...the secret chord..that makes me happy Pete. Thanks for that choice
This pedal is seriously cool. Easy to see why its so expensive.
What a motion in the sound! Beutiful!
...an insanely cool sounding reverb pedal - is it rugged enough for pedalboard use - as in gigging, not just home/studio use?
More reverb please! What a wonderful pedal!
Awesome song choice to start the show!

probably the greatest pedal since the 60s
Did you add the expression pedal before or after the reverb? because that sounds absolutely mind bogglingly good?
I love that song , I prefer the Buckley version , it just reaches down into the dark depths of my Soul and can bring tears or joy ..........Hallelujah
I rewatch this regularly just for Pete’s intro
I wonder how the harmonic mode would sound on vocals
Now I've heard there was a spring reverb
That Pete played, and it sounded superb
But you don't really care for this comment, do you?
Wow that is a great sounding pedal! 😳 ... Unfortunately I don't have the funds... going to have to stick with my BOSS RV-6 Reverb.
Excellent Abyss reference!
Having that on a live pedal board must be so much fun. :-) KRANNGGG KRANNGG KRANNNNNGGGGG.
Everything Gamechanger does is so damn cool. The infinite sustain "piano footpedal" ... the plasma pedal ... now this.
This looks soooooo cool
