Thanks for the review, thanks to you, I took both versions, I think the sound of the Pro will be similar to the Hifiman NANO, only without the extra high frequencies that made me return it back. I really like the competition. I believe price isn't equal to quality in sound reproduction
Damn, those look tempting. Feels like Hifiman has been the only option for budget planars for a while now but these are interesting for how cheap they are plus the bass emphasis and headband design which I think Hifiman doesn't do very well. I think the Edition XS are the ones to beat currently as they sound phenomenal when compared to stuff like £400 Sennheisers and the Edition XS themselves keep creeping down in price.
the thing about XS is it has more treble and that could annoy people. The Fiio FT1 pro has more neutral / darker treble that’s more comfortable to listen too. But the XS does have bigger drivers and bigger soundstage for sure
@@ryanhostudio I agree with you regarding the treble although to me, it's quite nicely done and doesn't cause any sibilance. @@ryanhostudio Very good review, like always! So for BF2042 and COD multiplayer and Tidal Hi-Res what should I peak: FT1 Pro,Sundara or FT1 closed? Thanks a lot!

Nice review! For the Fiio FT1 Pro, would you say it would be a good choice for music such as classical, or is there any kind of music that you would say it is best suited for? And how would you compare the Fiio FT1 Pro to Meze Audio headphones?
it’s kind of like the meze 109 pro but with less treble. It seems suited for more modern genres like pop. I feel like it’s fine for classical it’s tuned like a hifiman but with less treble
@@RandTaskz edition xs greatest strength is bigger soundstage, it has more treble which could come across as more “detailed” or fatiguing depending on person, it sounds more fatiguing to me and the thing i don’t like about the XS. Overall I find the FT1 pro to be a lot better in subbass, midrange about equal, and treble a lot more neutral controlled and pleasant to listen too
I saw you had a review on the Audeze Maxwells over a year ago. Which one between the Maxwells and the FT1 closed-back would be better for listening to music, playing games, watching TH-cam, etc. I can't use open-back because of my environment, or else I'd ask about the Pro.
i probably recommend the ft1 closed back since it’s lighter and more comfortable, half the price, has more fun bass tuning, and better at locating directional audio in competitive gaming
i mean tuning wise they are just different, the resolution, soundstage, and imaging of FT1 Pro is clearly better. If i compare it to the best of sennheiser series HD660s2, its a little closer but the bass boost and subbass detail and impact better on FT1 Pro. The more forward midrange tuning of 660s2 and 6XX do take a lead especially in the 1-2K region they sound very natural and forward. Treble they are all pretty neutral similar but you get the planar detail up there

i still think edition xs is biggest soundstage for the money and it’s biggest strength. @ryanhostudio Thanks very much for taking the time to reply! The FT1 Pro is roughly €120 cheaper where I am so I'm gravitating towards that. I do love me some soundstage though...
the soundtage is still amazing in the TF1 Pro its just that the XS have some of the best soundtage overall. the XS is more hyper focus on being good at 1 thing while the pro is more well rounded overall
I have the edition XS but still ordered the ft1 pro since it's about $170 rn. Edition XS is amazing especially for the discounted price right now which is around $250. gotta warn you tho that the cups are big.
ft1 pro clearly wins with regards to impact in the bass especially. Detail resolution would say is similar, it’s just that mm-100 is more forward around 1-2k while ft1 pro is more relaxed. But ft1 pro has more treble around 4-7k while mm-100 is relaxed. So they trade off in terms of sounding more natural on each region
dt 770 pro x is a closed back, it has more bass and treble. I personally find the dt 770 too bright because it has the beyerdynamic treble peak overall I would take the ft1 pro or ft1 over them
The Fiio is good, but it's nowhere near HE6se V2 in technicalities, totally different category. Wether it sounds better or not is about personal preferences.
its much more nuanced. Like if you hyper focus on bass, i think most people would agree with me the FT1 Pro has better subbass, more bass quantity and just as good "dynamics" or impact as he6se v2. The upper midrange tuning of FT1 pro is more present than the heavily scooped he6sev2 leading to vocals and instruments in general to sound more natural and present which also leans toward the FT1 Pro. In the treble I would say FT1 pro is more chill and neutral wont be fatiguing but I expect most people would say he6sev2 is very clean and better in the treble a win, but could sometimes get a little fatiguing. Overall detail I would say he6se v2 edges it out for sure, but I wonder if you removed the FT1 Pro inside dampening foam it might be similar
@@ryanhostudio Yeah absolutely not. The FT1 Pro is nowhere near as good as the HE6se V2 in bass response when talking about "quality" of the bass.
