The Wii U was probably the absolute best console ever. It has almost all of my favorite games, ergo my favorite gaming memories. Playing Wii U games with my sisters and cousins was and is one of my all-time favorite things to do. There were times where I laughed so hard I bruised my diaphragm. There were times I felt sad because we lost after we tried so hard. Wii U was and is the champion! Long Live Wii U!!!
@@DooplissTheTrickster There's a reason Nintendo is porting so many Wii U titles to the Switch. The Wii U had some amazing titles. I wonder if this game will ever get ported. That would be nice.
@ Markus IKR!!! Even though o never personally got to play it, I nerded out in 2019 through 2020, and totally binged on articles and cutscenes. So I know I’m not a legitimate fan in the case of playing the game, but I do know a lot about it. So yeah, it would be great if it made it to the switch.

I honestly think this game is really underrated. There are a few annoying parts, but the amazing graphics, music, writing and levels more than make up for it. I honestly even liked the battle system a lot. What's really important for me as well is that the game had a lot of heart. I feel like they genuinely cared about making a great game, rather than just pushing it out half heartedly. I really feel like a lot of love went into this game.

I cry when I hear this credits theme. I cry so hard everytime, I am not kidding. Musically revisiting all the great places you have visited, and remembering, what wacky, charming, funny, entertaining, varied adventure you've just experienced is just to much for me. It just reminds me on how much I adore this game with its outstanding graphics, its fun writing, its creative level concepts, heck, even with its battle system, and off course, with its absolutely gorgeos soundtrack, I never get tired of speaking about how much I love this soundtrack. While Color Splash isnt one of my favorite games, it still owns a very special place in my heart and I will defend it no matter what.

5:08 is where it hits it’s best, all the way to the end. 5:36 sounds so dark and dire, even a bit evil.
Now 6:37, on the other hand... oooh... it literally puts me in a state of emotional agony to the point where I start feeling physical pain. That and the intro. That violin... *oh my GOSH* it hurts, yet it feels so good at the same time! 😥😌
7:26 the reference to the main theme sounds so amazing and is perfect for tying the song together, it brings tears.

With Origami King coming out soon, I wanted to replay this game, and after doing so... I honestly think this is my new favorite Paper Mario. Yes, selecting cards is clunky, and yes, there were a lot of generic Toads. But I won’t be damned if the visuals, music, humor, and overworld exploration are some of the most fun in a Paper Mario. I’m not saying that people are wrong for disliking this game, but I feel like if they went into it with an open mind, they’re opinion might have been different.

Being the last game I tried on Wii U, this is the perfect theme to say goodbye to an amazing console who entertained me during my childhood. I consider this the 2nd best paper Mario game (the first one being the origami king)

Overall... a GREAT Game. The writing, humor, locations, music are all brilliant. The few original characters that exist... Sombrero Guy, Shy Bandit, Clown Bros, & Rock Paper Wizard... their designs were great. More original characters would have benefitted the game greatly! I could only recognize certain characters by the way they spoke or their very minor differences. The battle system should have been more fast paced and without those stupid cards. Things were honestly unnecessary, they were fun to watch but the fact that Things are required to progress is just a huge waste of time. The bosses, despite being the Koopalings... again... were creative and their personalities made it worthwhile. The game could've been so much better, if only....

I hope we have a more better battle system and a more connected world that also takes what colour splash did right

I just replayed it and I have to say I agree with this comment 100%. If they can fix the flaws you mentioned in origami king and keep the humour, charm, brilliant writing and amazing level design then origami king will be a truly amazing game
I hope they at least take some inspiration from the sticker era of paper mario. While the games weren’t as good, they pushed the series in a good direction, and had ideas that should’ve been in the series beforehand.
I wholeheartedly agree. If CS had a better battle system, more original designs for characters, and a slightly more interesting plot, I believe CS would be many people’s favorites.

Man, there are only two songs that give me shivers, and it's this one and the Pikmin 3 credits. The adventures I went on in both on the two games impacted me so well that just by hearing the credits songs make me feel so, so happy.
This is the finale to my favorite Nintendo console. Thank you for everything Wii U :) you deserved more

People unnecessarily hate on this game! It's better than Sticker Star, so give it some credit. I love this song. I've played 4 Paper Mario Games. This is my second favourite. I haven't played TTYD. Super Paper Mario is my favourite. The story is phenomenal, but anyway, this is about Color Splash. I also love 'Blackout' (Black Bowser final battle theme). This game has many fun elements to it. I loved colouring in the world map, the new round of Snifit or Whiffit, and Roshambo (A fun new addidition to the Paper Mario series). Huey is a better Partner than Kersti from Sticker Star because Kersti is just always angry at you for no reason. Huey has more character. It's not the same as having partners from earlier games, but it's not bad. I do get annoyed when I run out of paint for good cards or run out of cards for certain enemies. Overall, can't complain about Color Spash... or any Paper Mario game. They're all good, they just seem worse when compared to each other. Even Paper Jam has some good parts to it (despite the repetitive, overused Bowser final battle!). Color Splash is a must play for anyone who likes Mario Games, but aren't too stubborn about the new ones being worse because they aren't like the old ones. The TTYD fans who refuse to believe anything is better than TTYD might not want to play this game, because they'll just hate on it. But people like me, who love Mario games, you should play it. It is a good game. Of course, Super Paper Mario is by far my favourite game, but this one was fun too!

As far as I’m concerned, the only bad thing about this game is the battle system. I honestly don’t give a damn about a lack of original characters. Everything else was great.
Low Quality Cartoons I really hope they can make consumable attacks work in an RPG. It’s such a good idea and opens up many possibilities. It’s sad that it wasn’t done as good in these games.
@@eitangellis Hopefully Origami King pulls it off - durability on items sounds *much* more manageable than single use ones, so I'm pretty optimiistic

After beating the game, I realized something: weak weapons have pretty good durability while strong weapons break after 3-5 uses.
@@eitangellis You mean like how weapons work in Fire Emblem? That would be cool. Like, there would be a limited number of times you could use a certain weapon before it breaks or wears out. A worn-out attack could be used one last time before disappearing. Does that sound good?

I quite like the fact that this game lacks some original characters, in my opinion it feels more Mario, the Toads are the residents, as always, and the common enemies such as goombas koopas and alot of shy guys (wich are my favourite mario enemy). I honestly would love a type of sequel to this game with Mario and Huey and all the color mechanics. I also don't find the lack of partners thing such a problem, I enjoyed just having Huey by my side, wich made Huey one of my favourite characters. Overall i think this is a great game with an outstanding soundtrack ("Farewell" always makes me cry), great graphics (I love how Nintendo made *everything* paper based, and all the little details such as the fact that the clouds are hung on a string), an amazing story (I enjoyed how they didn't just make Bowser into the usual "haha im a bad guy I do bad things"), I also didn't think the fight system was so bad, it went for a general theme wich was cards (just like sticker star's sticker mechanic). I already know alot of people will disagree with me so just remember that this is my opinion.

Honestly, this is my 3rd most favorite Paper Mario game I've seen so far, along with TTYD being 1st and The Origami King being 2nd.

Never played TTYD, but it is way too overrated. Also now people automatically hate modern Paper Mario games because of it, nonstop comparing.

This is crazy. I didn't even get that far in Color Splash before putting it down. Haven't touched it in years, never heard most of the OST and the only track that stuck with me is the basic battle theme.
A game I'm very much disconnected from and that intro STILL gave me chills. 5 seconds in and my jaw dropped. I just happened upon this video and wow. I loved Origami King and it's OST and this really reminds me of it. I can see where Origami King got it's amazing sound direction.

This credits music is far too good for this awful game.
Only the battle system, lack of original characters, and lack of party members were what hurt the experience. The gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, script, and puzzles were all fantastic.
This game is far from awful, in fact, it was one of my favorite games on the Wii U. While the lack of original characters and partners was annoying, the OST, visuals, dialogue and a ton of other things make up for it.
Shame that the comment dislike button doesn’t work.
