I agree but no idea why you are doubling the cast on, won't the first castor stitches make it too tight? Is this for some specific project? Your stitches are beautiful and neat.
no idea of why you are doing what you are doing and where are you going with all these steps?? what stitch are you doing stockinette? Love the result but dont understand why so many steps won't initial casting on only half the amount to start make it tight? Sorry looks so elegant but dont understand when would we use this? I translated everything from Turkish but could not get any info, subscribed because your work is so elegant. Help!
Is this a different type of knitting, crochet or another craft as I knit, crochet and sew, I'm learning Tunisian crochet at the moment, so I'm curious as to what this craft is. It is very similar to knitting but also similar to crochet.
All these knitting videos confuse me, because the technique is so different from the way I was taught, about 68 years ago, in my native UK. I always hold the yarn in my right hand put the right hand needle through the stitch, and wrap the yarn round the needle before pulling it through. You seem to hold the yarn in the left hand and go chasing it backwards through the stitch! Is this a 'new' technique, or just the American system? I have also learnt a casting on method that requires only half the number of stitches: you add the other half as a 'wool forward' in the second row, and create a sort of 'false ribbing' for the next four rows, by K1 , wfwd, S1, wool back system. It is never too tight.
She knits using the continental method, which involves holding the yarn on the left. Personally, I've learnt both techniques and I've chosen to use the left-hand method because I find it requires less movement and it's easier to do ribbing and all the stitches that require alternating knit and purl stitches. She also knits with the yarn "open" (the index finger is taut) and I suppose it's easier to chase the wool backwards.
I was shown this method for casting on when I was taught knitting in 4-H when I was 10 years old. I am now 65 and didn't know there were other ways to cast on!

I think it’s just a decorative cast on
thank you so much@@Dixiered03
It's such a shame there is no explanation for this video. It looks so pretty.
I agree
What else do you need as an explanation? Everything is shown clearly. It's just a beautiful edge of a sweater for example
Just amazing bravo
Anyone know what this is called?
Under the needle then through the stitch..got it

It would be helpful if there was an explanation about why the cast on this way in English.
Looks like it gives you a more elastic cast on, great for sock cuffs I should think.

Is this stretchy enough for socks? In the round?
Yes ,there r many...all of them r great according to the demands of your projects....
😊😊
