Well done. I bought a set on Ebay for a low price and sold on Ebay for a higher price. I didn't even take the plastic shrink wrap off of it. The person I sold it to opened the sealed box and discovered problems. I paid the price. The Ebay buyer is the person that sent me the link to this video.
In the Phil the cost of PF Discoveries is 31thou (Phil. Money) the Chinese fake worth 3,700 (Phil. Money). The sound the same the defferences is the cover! Be practical for my opinion only!

If you see the fake box with the shrinkwrap still on it, there is another sign. The red sticker in the upper left corner is very blurry and looks like it has been cut with scissors, by hand. I am amazed at the MEI and labrl typos... that means they scanned the original packaging, kept the images but not the text, and retyped or OCRed all the text. I see that on a lot of fakes, why would they not just leave the text as it is?

I thought about buying a used copy for about $100 on eBay. Is there any other noticeable things a seller could check for to verify it is counterfeit? This is a used copy so of course there wont be any shrinkwrap on albums, and the outer paper sleeve is gone on seller's copy so they couldn't check for the "MEI" misspellings and such. Any mispellings within the actual albums? Or other text flaws?
I bought a set and inquired the IFPL number of the CD inside, which showed that it was produced in Poland, but some of his characteristics were similar to those of the "fake version" in the video. Can you guarantee that it is the original version?
Would have been a better video if you also compared the cds, such as the backs for any spelling mistakes, book for the set and the booklets in each disc. That makes it harder for someone to have an incomplete official set and replace missing cds with fakes. Also the IFPI data off the CDs is really important too, esp on the fakes.
While all that is true, my actual intention with the video was to point out the external differences, so that one would be able to spot the fake version without having to open the box. The internal differences mentioned were just a complement, not the point of the video.

I have both fake and original and they sound EXACTLY the same. Only the misprints and some color changes on box is the difference, FAKE for the $$$ if misprints are not an issue.
I do believe they sound the same, probably because the source material (the audio files) are the same, but buying counterfeit is never good for the artist. I mean, not that Pink Floyd members aren't filthy rich already, but it's still not fair to give money to lazy people who produce cheap copies when we have at our disposal the true work of the masters, who really put an effort into making the item.
The sound on the discs is the same as the authentic UK/US version. I have been able to play both by borrowing a friends UK version. So I'm philosophical - the UK version on Amazon.uk is £149.00. I paid £42.00 for the fake.

Today getting digital copies from internet is so easy. Sometimes instead of searching for some old CD I prefer to download it as it is faster. The only way for me to pay for a CD is to get a nice booklet and packaging and it seems Chinese did pretty good job in it.

many thanks ... for me it comes too late, actually I´m sitting on a fake here (bought in ebay). And the worstcase => a newer hq-Cd-Player recognizes the cds as fake und ignores them ! Only a old-and-ugly player accepted them, sound is bad, bad, bad (nothing remastered!).
The small font is also thicker. Sort of a cross between the thin one that the proper one EMI uses and something not quite bold to be considered bold. Peace

To my ears (and I tend to be very technical about music), yes, they do sound very similar or even identical.
The sound on the discs is the same as the authentic UK/US version. I have been able to play both by borrowing a friends UK version. So I'm philosophical - the UK version on Amazon.uk is £149.00. I paid £42.00 for the fake.

This is crazy found 5 ranging from £80 - £300 GBP and they all clearly have the issues you pointed out
The price is not an indicator. People are charging $250 and sending out fakes. Beware.
