    With the work those sleds have to do in four feet of snow all day long it's amazing they don't die more often. Cool how you all can get 400 pounds of dead sled out of the woods.

    Crappy deal on the sled blowing up. I stoped riding Polaris due to that. 2008 ,2012. Did the same for me. I guess nothing has changed with their motors. I currently run a 2015 m8000 and love it. Looking for a new sled next season. Will look hard at cat and ski-doo.

    • @ryane2626

      I run a m8000 as well. It takes a beating and keeps rippin. Guys with rmks are always fixing something. Or getting new engines under warranty. Warranty’s great and all but when your stranded and can’t ride due to a manufacturer issue I’d be pissed.

    Great videos. Sorry to tell everyone, all sleds have issues if you ride enough. It's only a matter of time. It's not if, it's when and then getting it back to the trailer becomes part of the adventure. I'm in my 50's and have been involved in this misfortune with every brand. I personally don't bash any brand. The simple fact that nobody was hurt, nobody got pissed off and everyone got out- thumbs up. I do however feel for the guy, ya hate to see it happen but if you're gonna play, your gonna pay. IMO you put out some of the most realistic, normal videos. It's great to have a awesome group of people to ride with. My hats off to you guys for not getting big headed.

    The best comments on a blown/broken sled vid give actual information about what things break, why, how to fix, warranty, how widespread the issue is, things to watch out for, etc. It’s really hard for riders to get real info on sled issues, so we have to help each other out. Please stay away if all you’ve got is some stupid generalization like ‘This brand sucks’.

      I’ve had phenomenal luck with Polaris. I have a 2000 rmk 700 with a 155 track and skid under it still goes hard to this day, had a 13 pro rmk 600 thing was bulletproof was the first year of the quick drive so the belt was garbage never had a problem with the updated belt, and now ride a 18 axys 800 it’s got 1300 km on it and just finally wore out it’s main belt never skips a beat she eats 8250 rpm from trail ride in to trail ride out

    We have towed sleds out quite a bit. What worked really well was back the tow sled up bumper to bumper with the dead sled and lash them together tight. If you can use something to go between to protect the bumpers like a leather glove etc.
    Then hook a second sled up to the front of the tow sled using a Sno bunjee, it makes it so smooth to tow because it can stretch and contract with every little bump and Helps keep the line taut. Using that method we towed up fairly big hills in deep snow.
    Motts Machining in Edmonton just Did my buddies engine for his 2015 pro. Cost was $2500 with a exchange cylinder and Crank. He pulled the engine and took it to them. About a week turnaround ish.

    Tuning needs to be bang on.. on a turbo 2 stroke. No oil in the case for back up.. just my own opinion. And I'm only a plumber.

      The oil is injected straight into the bottom end bearings where it's needed.
      Some of the turbo kits do dump the lube oil back into the intake for extra, but it's really not necessary as long as your fuel and oil are adjusted correctly to begin with.

      Sounds like your dealer never fixed the actual issue, just kept dropping motors in. Lean melt downs from clogged injectors, weak fuel pump, bad ECM, bad reeds, etc. will destroy a new motor just as fast as an old one.

    • @1waukesha
      @1waukesha 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Modern two strokes are much more Reliable. I know of several with 15K on the engine before issues. And there are places in the mountains if you go down you are not coming out running sled or no running sled. You need to know where your going.

    • @leftyeh6495
