What is the difference between single-band compressor and dynamics->compressor ?? I'm new in this, with a condenser mic and single-band compressor I see almost no changes on levels. Which one should I use?
Excellent question! The single band compressor compresses the entire audio file. The dynamics compressor is also a single band compressor. If you're not hearing much change...then adjust both THRESHOLD and RATIO. Until you find something you like. Try using the preview pane as well. It's easier to select the preview editor rather than applying to see the effect

That "91%" is a favorite I created.
You can get to the default normalize option under
Effects>
Amplitude and compression>
Normalize Process

What do you feel is going too fast?
