St. Paul, with the districts of Buggiba and Qawra, is a tourist ghetto without the typical Maltese flair. Only hotels, restaurants and bars in modern buildings. If you want to experience the real Malta with the typical houses, small pubs and shops, you should book a hotel in Valletta, Sliema, Mellieha or San Gilian.

Wonderful video. My grandparents had a time share in Bugibba. Went there every summer as a kid. Loved the place. That Miracles bar used to be a restaurant called Chez Gatane (not sure if the spelling). Great food and big servings. Set menu for 3 Maltese Lira (about £6). I instantly recognise all the streets but the bar names have all changed. Happier days.

Wife & I got back from there end of September, really enjoyed it but wouldn't say Bugibba was particularly lively though. Thought the cheap & cheerful bars near our hotel on Tourist St were better
