I really enjoyed living in Germany. It was so different from the beach life Carlsbad, CA. Was so fun living in my first European country for 4 years. I miss the cuisine, the fresh deli’s, the bakeries, the clothing. I gave birth to my son in Frankfurt 1978, American born abroad. Don’t know if you are aware we have more Germans in USA than any other ethnicity. I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Ich muss sagen, dass dort eine besondere und typische Frankfurt Atmosphäre einatmen man kann. Guido I have to say that you can breath there a very typical and special atmosphere from Frankfurt. Guido
I'm an American that lived in the Bitburg area for 5 years in early 2000s. I love your video and crave so much of the food to showcase and wish I could visit, even live in Germany again. Question: Have you done any video about Doner kebab yet? That seemed to be a pretty iconic food to eat no matter where I traveled to. I know it is mostly a Turkish food, but Doner seems important enough throughout Germany that it could be a subject for a fun video :) Again, not sure if you've done a video on that. If so, I'd like to find it. Thank you for the great videos!
This is great idea and yes, this topic will be covered in my next series, where I would love to visit different German food stores and show you the options. The only thing what I am afraid of are those negative comments, because Döner was invented in Berlin, and they might have their ways of preparation that I don’t know of. But in the end, who cares. I can show you our real Frankfurt Döner, right? 😉
Much of Canadian menu has German ,Italian Asian influences etc etc.But interesting because you definitely have some traditional dishes that haven't made the trip.☺ My Grandmother had German ancestry.
@@cooking-the-world Actually everything... the "Sterntaler" is delicious or the "Doppelbackbrot" - but I don't know what they have in Frankfurt, I always buy in their local shop in Steinau.

Too bad you didn't show Fink's delicious, handmade bread… improves every Bratwurst :-)
Oh no, I am so buying their bread next week! Any bread you can recommend?
