Congratulations on the superb 9090db. It looks brand new. And the speakers are breath taking! They look really well together with the receiver. One of the most amazing videos on TH-cam about this vintage receiver.
Patrick Johnson I bought the receiver and a pair of Eclipse speakers from a friend for $25.00! He didn't know what he had. It was in 1978. I was 16. But every pair of speakers I hooked up on them past mid level, sent it into protection mode! I had to have my Eclipse repaired once. Could've been really expensive, but my father had a buddy, so I caught a break there. After that I never played them past 4 on the volume.
Swee Pee the receiver needs to be recapped, the compasators are very old and not holding the right type of voltage, you can utube it under electronics. You theaf.
I had a 9090 back in the early 2000. Along with a SE9 EQ., Technics SLD2 turntable, with four Pioneer CS99A speakers.....it was a freaking beast. Best of all, I didn't even have $300 in the whole system. Gave it to my daughter on her 18th. birthday in 2008. Don't worry, l have a spare bedroom packed with vintage gear. Love too mix and match different components. I got in the hobby in the late 90s when people were giving this stuff away.
Sansui; Pioneer; Yamaha; etc. solche Geräte standen in den 70er Jahren immer wieder ein paar Tage bei Grundig im Design-Spionageraum. Bevor sie dann noch Technisch ausgiebig untersucht wurden, und am Ende im Müll landeten. Ich hab jedes mal nen halben Anfall bekommen wenn ich daran gedacht habe was da weggeschmissen wurde (und was ich dagegen für nen Krempel Zuhause hatte)

Had 1 in 1978. Never found any speakers to take it at full volume. I LOVED IT!!!
Swee Pee I have one of these I bought in 76 and a pair of ESS AMT1B , if you need a good speaker all I can say is trust me

Patrick Johnson I don't have it anymore. But wish I could find 1 at an affordable price. I've seen them as much as $1,000.00 on eBay.

Back in the nineties I had one hooked up to four 15 inch woofers Kenwood speakers and Man would it Rock, I think that my neighbors liked it too!!!!!
