@@As-cy3td In my opinion he really won though. Rap disses are petty, corny, edgy and you are willing to be covered in dirt just for what? You lose your dignity and both Kendrick and Drake lost theirs, it's that simple. In war there's no winner, both sides lose something
It's crazy how every single line applies to the way I look at an artist that was in my life, he used to be my hero. Every bar has so many universal truths about talent falling from grace.
For me in films, I always wanted to be better or as good as some directors, after I heard j Cole, I understand different shit and my knowledge in philosophy got me to think about the situations that are truly terrified to me, I am no longer looking at anyone, but my self and inspiration is there, but is all about my self now. J Cole is the only rapper I listen to, his story telling skills are on another level and most have message.
I grew up with an absent father, not that he wasn't there at all, but mentally he was completely absent. I never felt genuine love from a father figure who wanted me to do good, until i really started to listen to J.Cole. I don't even know him, but i feel like he's speaking directly to me sometimes. And that's all i needed. Thank god for the internet, and thank god for J.Cole, cuz without him, i'd probably be still doing drugs.
Damn bro. That's so inspiring man. Glad you got clean bro. I hope you're still doing well man. I'm sure our story's are a little different of course, but I feel the father thing. I never got deep into drugs, but I don't talk to half my family anymore cuz of family drama that I like to stay out of now for my mental health. I had some of my best friends who got hooked on that shit and screwed over by "friends" who didn't really care about them. I don't wish that on nobody. Hope you're doing well homie. Much love ❤️ 💪
i think he means he misses the old rap of kanye and jay z where they had clever lines like "oh my god is that a black card? why yes but i prefer the term african american express" " "mayonnaise colored benz, i push miracle whips" instead of the stupid songs that are just repetitive crap about girls and drugs like lil yachty and all those new rappers
Slim Richard thank you slim, been telling people the same. there's a lot if conscious rappers. but they don't give em a chance. we salute Jcole and kdot for making it big
The stories of a regular small town nigga from Fayetville, NC, who went to NYC, graduated college, and somehow manage to get sign by Jay-Z. Went through the highs and lows of fame and somehow manage to stay true to himself and those close to him. You gotta love this man. Jermaine Cole.
Fuuuuuck nooooo! I mean that your opinion but macklemore ain't even in this category and miller yeah I'll allow miller in but you not taking my homie logic out cuz #Ratpack
Jcole’s emotional intelligence is so far beyond these other rappers’. He’s apologised because there’s no benefit in dissing, he’s true to himself and that’s what’s rare in so many of these celebrities and people generally. What other rappers say about Cole or anyone else is irrelevant and doesn’t change his talent or the work he has put out.
True. Be true to yourself. But don't claim to be one of the best and hope others to believe it. He took himself outta the competition. You think Kobe gonna apologize to KG? Jordan to Barkley? Brady to Manning? Or Jon Jones to DC? It's a competition, you can respect them while competing at the same time.

nothing wrong with showing off success after going through rough times making it big. Sometimes people just want bangers to bump too with simple lines that have a lot of substance. Sometimes people want no substance at all and just want to bump to nonsense. Kinda dumb you would inconvenient yourself to take a bus when you have the funds not to. Thats not real, that's an image youre trying to go for. Rap is evolving and if you think new rap doesnt have substance then youre mistaking.
1:26 - 2:31 this verse is a prophecy for every young artist out there tryna make it and it is also a great reminder to always stay true to yourself and to not have your vision blurred by the everyday drama…….
"I got a homie, he a rapper and he wanna win bad He want the fame, the acclaim, the respect that's been had By all the legends, so every time I see him, he stressin' Talkin' 'bout, niggas don't fuck with him, this shit is depressin' And I know he so bitter he can't see his own blessings Goddamn, nigga, you too blind to see you got fans, nigga And a platform to make a classic rap song To change a nigga's life, but you too anxious livin' life Always worried 'bout the critics who ain't ever fuckin' did it I write what's in my heart, don't give a fuck who fuckin' with it" GOD DAYUMMMMM this shit give me the shiver! How can you people hate J Cole! I see all these hate memes on IG and I SMFH!! He remind me of the younger years of Bone Thugs when they were ambitious and write true good songs that you feel in your heart!

"These rappers insecure, they talk about being the man so much, I finally understand that they ain't even really sure. About who they are and why they do this. I guess I'm included that category, as a [___] who done had the glory" "My lowest moments came from trying too hard. To impress some [___] that couldn't care if I'm on. Therefore from here on out, my hair grow out. I care nothin' bout opinions. I wanna give hope like the fountains you throw pennies in. Hit the store, take your diss, make your wish." Damn
Me Myself & I People refer to Kanye as Yeezy? really? Ok. I believe Kanye West is a talented musician and composer, but that's really where it stops. His fashion sense has left much to be desired and his mouth simply alienates everything and everyone. I don't imagine his life is easy, but I also believe he's the architect of his own mayhem. Simply put, he's literally bad for business.
Why are you calling them prophets. You're giving hip hop artists too much credit bruh lmao. They're not prophets to begin with. You either like their music or not. I happen to like Kanye's music. Could give a fuck about his personal life.
Quakeinc14 J. Cole and likely the audience of this song understand that we are not assigning or inferring that Hip-Hop artists or artists of any kind are in fact, Prophets - they are not, I agree, at least not to me and not to you. What I do understand or am trying to understand, is the term "false prophets" in the sense that J. Cole is referring to them, which is musicians/people in the public eye, speaking towards the negative urban social constructs (ie drugs, weapons, illegal activities, etc) without ever having been involved in it for them to rightfully speak upon. I believe the community refers to people like this as 'fake'. I just refer to them as liars but I think that's the same. Thoughts?
Free thinking is not voicing thoughts on serious topics based on no info other then you want to say the opposite of what people think you would say. Free thinking is having adequate knowledge of a subject a voicing opinions based on what you think about that subject after having a clear understanding of it. Which Kanye does not he has been qouted saying his words are based on feeling not thought.
Holden Taylor just cause u have a thought dont mean it was free he just got out of some kind of mental jail been there for almost a year getting god knows what done to him all cause he warned us about radio station owners and other higher ups(that is real free thinking)smh why choose to live in bliss and regurgitate what the mainstream is saying instead of using your own mind to think for yourself
This sing is an international treasure. 6 years old and becoming truer every year. It is an universal depiction of the fallen angel who used to be the most trustworthy, yet he becomes more and more corrupt and finally loses to the realness in the world

Yes. He won a participation trophy 🏆😂

@@xingincool9672 how's your journey within going bro?
I grew up with an absent father, not that he wasn't there at all, but mentally he was completely absent. I never felt genuine love from a father figure who wanted me to do good, until i really started to listen to J.Cole. I don't even know him, but i feel like he's speaking directly to me sometimes. And that's all i needed. Thank god for the internet, and thank god for J.Cole, cuz without him, i'd probably be still doing drugs.
You put my exact experience into words my man
Much love ❤️ 💪

and Kenny.
i think he means he misses the old rap of kanye and jay z where they had clever lines like "oh my god is that a black card? why yes but i prefer the term african american express" " "mayonnaise colored benz, i push miracle whips" instead of the stupid songs that are just repetitive crap about girls and drugs like lil yachty and all those new rappers

They aren't. If you listen to Black Friday he said they aren't. But hopefully they will.

Dope. Sadly, anyone paying attention to hip-hop the last 25 years, saw these false prophets coming
Youbones I feel like Hollywood makes you crazy. even the strongest people like Yeezy break under the pressure
Thoughts?
Wake up Mr. West!
LeGod James wake up to what exactly? Thinking freely isn’t a bad thing..
