I know its not him, I know its a different character... But I know those movements, I know those poses... *Ringo my beloved, it's good to see you again*
Great review my friend..for such an amazing & unique game there is so little reviews available..loved and agreed with your take on it. Masterpiece of an Indy game
I bought this on a whim during the 2023 Christmas sale and ended up spending nearly 30 hours on it. It's a slow burner that's serious, melancholic and classy in tone in the way a good crime drama ought to be. Loved it, one of the best indie games of 2023.
Laughed when you said it's not like a roguelike because every run is fresh because Rogue and the traditional roguelikes that are actually 'like' the game Rogue are exactly that, fresh runs every time. That aside good review. I saw this game and was wondering what it's like and I think you've convinced me to buy it. Saying it's like Way of the Samurai sealed it for me, love those games.
Welp. *wishlists* Had no interest in this game before. Being a big fan of Way of the Samurai and Yakuza as of this year, I'm in. You got me interested. Great video man.
No way, I was like "this seems sorta like Way of the Samurai, and then next moment you pull it off your shelf!" Definitely going to be checking this game out, thanks for the recommendation mate!
Hey would you do a playthrough with commentary on this game with all the different endings? There isn't even an actual complete playthrough of 1 ending of this game, which is surprising as it is really underrated. Also way of the samurai 1 and 2 (3 is ok) is so good and unlike anything most games today. Underrated classic.
5:10 Well, mostly. The guy at the sandwich shop (at the Bar area) is holding onto a bag for Seiji. You can put money in it, give it back to the guy, then that money will be there in other playthroughs.
not on consoles yet apparently... weird stone buddha and Ringo Ishikawa are also physical with English in Japan - they are also great games from the same devs I am sure this one will be ported too sooner or later.. hope so I really liked stone buddha
@@35infinite It'd be cool to see a breakdown of it. If you like that fighting style, study John Wick, because the films use a lot of similar legitimate martial arts moves.
I love the amazing pixel artistry this game has, I mean look at those cars man.
It's so great to look at it. Just walking around in this game is a joy.
Sleeper game! It's really fun and you can tell the creator did a lot of work especially knowing it's just 1 person.
It's so good, I wish I could play it for the first time again lol

Really awesome discussion of this game, loving the art direction and aesthetics for sure!
Dude, I was just so sad when I completed everything in it lol
looks a lot like The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa, which it turns out is from the same developer. nice
I was just thinking this. So basically that game i wish had a sequel... has a sequel

That's not really something I do, sorry.
PIXEL YAKUZAAAAA lol this game looks mad cozy, never seen anything like it was a fun watch
I'd love to see a Sweis stream of Fading Afternoon lol
wow this really is a hidden gem, thanks for showcasing it
No problem, thanks for watching!
The Friends of Ring Ishikawa is hands down one of the best games I have ever played. I'm excited to give this one a go too!
Hell yeah, I've played some Ringo and I love it so far
I just bought this on the switch. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@Ucey365 No problem, have fun!

Definitely grabbing this! Even if I never get to it at least I’ll support it 😌
Time to make the "bully Becca into playing Fading Afternoon" in the discord, lol. Thanks for watching, friendo!
I've seen the developer talking about his game on twitter, looks pretty good
If you end up playing it, I hope you enjoy it.
Wonder can this be ran on the Miyoo Plus 🤔 💭
Love the naturalistic tone of the game
100% agree!
Played Ringo Ishikawa and Stone Buddha great creator. Can't wait this comes out on switch 6/6 I think
That's awesome, I hope you enjoy it 👍
Have you played midnight fight express
I have not, is it similar to Fading Afternoon?
I really liked playing The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa, I hope this one is just as good.
Hope you enjoy it 👍
Great review
Thank you, I appreciate you saying that
@@35infinite no worries least the viewers can do…I know it takes time and money to do these vids
The music in this game is used by my electric company it’s always so funny
Aside from the aesthetic, what got me interested in this game was the judo and pro wrestling moveset.
Oh, are the moves pretty accurate? I barely know anything about martial arts or wrestling.
@@35infinite yes, the jacket grabs and joint locks are from judo, or Brazilian jiujitsu if you practice it that way.

I hope you enjoy it once it drops 👍
It is now😊
I bought this today
Hell yeah, hope you enjoy it
Loved friends of ringo didn’t like the assassin one at sll
I'm excited to see what I think about both. What didn't you like about Arrest?
It would be cool if in the future they could make a mobile version, since it has potential to be ported to mobile
I'd be down for that, anything to get this game more exposure. You should def reach out to yeo and provide that feedback, if you haven't already. 👍
the degrading health points killed the game for me, i can't just enjoy roaming around and fight as much as i can
Thank you for writing this comment and saving me money. I'd buy it but that does sound annoying
No
It finally went on sale. I grab it today and its great. Thank you for the video. 🫡💪🙏
The music is amazing.
