This car, to me, looks better then the 2020 SS and way better then the 2019 SS. I’d buy the absolute base model with a manual. The simpler the better, no screens or goofy infotainment if I can avoid it. Car would be simple which equals closer to perfection.
GM is using Tremec. Tremec is its own independent manufacturer and they build transmissions for Dodge Viper V10, Camaro ZL1, Ford Shelby GT350 and new GT500. They can take the power and they shift very well. For some stupid reason Ford is not using Tremec in the Mustang GT. The new 10-speed was co-developed by GM and Ford and it's taking massive horsepower without issue. It's a good one.
@RS1 Seems to be holding well over twice the stock power in Mustangs. Here's one with a Circle D converter on it. th-cam.com/video/Hv8nQAs2Spw/w-d-xo.html Not sure how it differs in the GM products but it's been holding up just fine on Ford products.
@RS1 More like a Tuxedo SS because the way the bow tie logo is positioned at the front end. Looks like a tie on a tux. It’s gonna be a collectors item because it was in production for 1 year. Which means it’s gonna be rare in 25 years once the numbers produced goes down (wrecked, destroyed, totaled), even though it maybe ugly and unpopular now.

Honestly all I could think was it looks like a cross between early 6th gen and 5th gen. I still personally prefer the early 6th look but this is a nice compromise
I think it’s time for Chevy to start making leather interior a standard feature; at least in their LT1 and 1SS models.. 35k+ dollars for these cars, come on Chevy.
Actually that's my biggest complaint is that you can't get cloth seats on the SS ZLI or any Corvettes since the early 90s. I like the grip and breathable comfort of cloth.
Adam Hose you can get cloth seats on the SS.. the 1SS is standard cloth seats. The 2SS is typically leather and suede sometimes. I’ve seen some people get the 2SS with cloth seating though it’s not common. A friend of mine did that for the same reason. He liked the 2SS options but vouched for cloth seats. The cost of the car dropped about 1700
I got a LT1 last week. All black, convertible. I love it. For about 42k. I love it. The performance is amazing. Hopefully in the next five years I’ll have that ZL1
FYI you can get the Dual Mode Exhaust with the LT1. Glad to see there are optional rims as I was not a fan of the silver ones in other reviews I have seen.
My local chevy dealer has a black one in stock .but its loaded up with everything but a sunroof and priced at over 40.000. For that kind of money . might as well get an SS.
I'll have to test drive the mustang, Camaro, Challenger and charger. Something about the charger family hot rod body I really like. This Camaro looks great too
I'd like to hear your impressions of all three if you do. One thing I love about my LT1 is the handling. That means I can have fun driving it without worrying about getting a ticket.
I owned a charger RT and drove a challenger scatpack then traded my charger for a mustang. Now I ordered a camaro LT1 My favorite car is the mustang Camaro then charger/challenger the build quality isn’t the best and the interior is outdated.
I bought this car when i went to buy an used SS. from Ray Chevy in Fox Lake il. i didnt even know it existed. so happy with it. this is my 10th camaro ive owned and by far the best. if your looking for a 455 HP V8 and dont want a thousand dollar a month payment. this LT1 is fricking awesome

I've seen this car do 11 sec quarter mile runs fresh from the dealership... The LT1 is lightweight compared to all other trims... However I believe it's only the 10 speed automatic that's capable of hitting those numbers...
Very good, thorough review. Ford makes you go all the way up to a Shelby GT350 to get the Tremec six speed manual. It is very enticing to get the six speed in this car, which is half the price of a Shelby. Can't go wrong with either transmission.
I love the fact Chevy still allows you to get some V8 muscle for under 40k, but I hate the damn front end so much... the ZL1 and SS look waaay better. But I'm glad lots of folks seem to like it anyhow. Matter of personal preference I guess.
I'm almost sold on this car, my only quiestion is can you even see okay when reversing and switching lanes. They say check your blindspot, but checking tour blind spot in this car seems like you would have to stick your head out the Window to look back lol

@@PrimeAutotainment Hey it's cool man! I've been considering getting one of these, and I've been looking at all the options and packages on the Chevy website recently. When I saw Brembos for this price range, remote start, auto unlock, power both seats, my jaw dropped. My Mustang premium has less features in some areas. Ford better do an LX or lose out.

To be honest though I think that I would go with a car with a little less power that’s a lot of power and more than I need to have fun on a regular basis.
Yeah I’m debating a 2020 LT1/SS or a used 2017-18 SS. As much as I want to try manual out the auto has the remote start and cylinder shutdown since it would be a daily I would prefer that. But the 8 speed had issues supposedly on the 2016-18 so I’m not entirely sure.
I definitely appreciate the budget friendly power on this Badass. Definitely the manual while we can still get them. I bought a budget hot rod myself and am loving it, although it pales in comparison to the skraight line performance of the Chevy 6.2. I'd love to test drive it and see how it feels going through some Twisties because that is what I love and appreciate about my Veloster N performance. Feels like I'm driving a turbo go kart
I've had my rally green 2020 Camaro LT1 for about 3 months and absolutely love it. It has plenty of equipment on it. Power seats on both sides, Bose speakers (YES, I said Bose speakers, STANDARD. Just 6 instead of the 9 you get with the 2SS. Read about it here media.gm.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/camaro-ss/2020.html ), Same infotainment 3.0 system, just 7" instead of 8", same performance suspension. I think the front end actually looks nicer than the SS on dark colors like mine. If I had a light color like white or shock I'd prefer the SS nose. The blackout web look is very sharp with the LEDs. SS hood with the heat vents. I've got the awesome carbon flash wheels like this one in the video. Sunroof, and dual mode exhaust. I love manuals but on this thing you've GOT to get the 10 speed automatic. It is absolutely telepathic. Instantaneous shifts, always knows what gear to be in, no jerking. Insane! I got such a stupid deal on it as well. They lease MUCH better than an SS with a much higher residual, lower money factor, and lots of lease cash! $460/mo. sign and drive for a 3 year, 15,000 mile/year lease.
People want a race car but want all that goofy Mercedes tech inside... No thanks. This is actually cool. No bullshit just a fast car and simple controls
Good looking car. That color looks good with the rims. Sounds amazing. I’d go with the stick over the automatic because a car like this should be a stick shift. I’ve driven quite a few Camaros at the dealership. I just don’t fit in them. They are extremely uncomfortable for me to drive. The interior quality is disappointing and the Camaro reliability is spotty at best (yes, we have had many an issue with transmissions, suspensions, rear ends) with the ones we’ve had. Overall, I’d take a Mustang over this. Better yet, I’d go with a WRX STI.
I agree with the looks and the color too! I’m pretty sure most of them sold would be a stick but I’m not sure what the stats are. That’s such a shame about the problems with them...but that doesn’t surprise me at all. Too bad...and for that fact I would also rather an STI! 👍
@@PrimeAutotainment The only problem with an STI is the much higher insurance rates over a Camaro SS. BTW, the back seats in this Camaro aren't designed for humans , just for pets or grocery bags.

I got my 1SS with dual mode exhaust and MRC out the door for $39k, soooooo....yep, so no offense to this car or anyone who buys it, but I’d go up a level, the screen and display are much better from what I can see also. I forgot too, it’s a manual.
CXIII Solar I was actually just making a point. Even tho the LT1 is a 2020 model , you get more bang for you buck by getting the 2SS 2019 model for the same price if not cheaper. And they’re actually not that bad looking , I don’t like that look of the v6’s that much (even with the RS package) but the SS’s don’t look half bad. The 2020 literally looks like the 2019 , they just scooted the bow tie up. “MAJOR IMPROVEMENT” 👍🏽 The 2019’s tail lights look better than the 2018’s , but the 2018’s headlights look way better than the 2019’s. But in the end , I’m going for a 2018 2SS next year. Hoping it’s not gonna kick my ass too much cause I’m only gonna be 21.
CXIII Solar I bought my 2010 v6 at 19 lol but hey bruh , I’m just ready for a V8. Tire of this v6. I’m saving 10 grand for a nice down payment. And if I pay for this 2018 for 6+ plus years then so be it 🤷🏽♂️ I don’t plan on getting anything else for a good , good minute afterwards anyways
CXIII Solar you can’t get put up under your parents name for the insurance ? I only pay $150 with progressive for the insurance up under my mom’s name. And for the rent issue me and my girl gone get a place soon so at least that’ll be split up lol
There is 4 1LE at Austin Chevy dealer, MSRP is $45k Henna has a steel gray 2SS at $48k! It's a manual transmission. My 1LT was $33,200 with dual mode exhaust. There's $2800 in rebates and deal discount. For $33k it's so much fun!
The first thing EVERYONE says when they get in my Camaro is “I can barely see anything” or they can’t find the door handle from the inside. I would like some advice if possible. Tomorrow I’m supposed to trade my 2015 Camaro v6 for a 2021 Camaro V6. For about 2-3k more I can get the V8. What does anyone think? Is the difference in sound/speed significant?
I really like Mustangs but I think that Ford made it fuck ugly for 2018-2020. They screwed up so bad that I am cross shopping a Riverside Blue Camaro SS and I do not like Chevy or pushrod engines but it looks so sexy.
I don’t understand GM’s angle with this car🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Start designing the gen 7 already, stop trying to milk the gen 6 already! Seriously 😒. I know they putting it all in the corvette right now, but come on🙄
With Chevy ruining the new Corvette (it's pitifully ugly), this is the new bang for the buck sports car, and GM's going to discontinue it...why doesn't this surprise me...GM has the ability to produce awesome cars, but their upper level decision making is beyond stupid...

At this price point, you can still get a slightly used 2SS with low miles for about 31-33 if you shop around and do your homework, just saying!
There’s really no point of spending 35 grand for the LT1 when you can use that money to get a 2019 2SS for that price now 🤷🏽♂️
I got my 1SS with dual mode exhaust and MRC out the door for $39k, soooooo....yep, so no offense to this car or anyone who buys it, but I’d go up a level, the screen and display are much better from what I can see also.
I forgot too, it’s a manual.
Fr lol you can get a 2ss for 38k easy now
CXIII Solar I was actually just making a point.
Just bout one in red here in California got a 10 spd automatic by the way...love it too pieces.
Great buy for the 💰
That’s awesome, enjoy! 😁👍
Just got a 2017 10 speed by LT with LT1 trims or something lol.. idk this my first Camaro thought they were all the same.. I love it so far
Sweet! Enjoy it and have fun!
@@Polynice20 you mean 8 speed ?
@@juanrocj0o9htu43ri0k Yes 8 speed I meant.
The TR6060 is God’s transmission.
This is a ridiculous deal and I can’t wait to trade my Mazda3 for it.
#savethemanuals
how much does a v6 go for i really want to know?
Such a nice car with a good price
Damn this can be a sleeper and trick unready people
Was the difference between this nd the ss?
Camaro was Chevy response to the mustang and in the end it lost. Being discontinued as much as we love this car mustang just does it better.
Me dreaming that they make a vette under 40k new as well LOL.
I can find ss 1le’s brand new for 38 grand.
and you can find this car for 30k
@@junior777 Amen - with some proper negotiation, of course. Remember, MSRP = Manufacture's "Suggested" Retail Price. Keyword, suggested. Never pay retail. LOL
You can find 2ss for 38k too here in Texas, just negotiate and youll get it, especially if you have a decent size down payment
@@jbizzle2232 what dealership are they at?
The first thing EVERYONE says when they get in my Camaro is “I can barely see anything” or they can’t find the door handle from the inside. I would like some advice if possible. Tomorrow I’m supposed to trade my 2015 Camaro v6 for a 2021 Camaro V6. For about 2-3k more I can get the V8. What does anyone think? Is the difference in sound/speed significant?
V8>v6
@@anthonyh2540 I got the v8. Manual transmission
@@loudmein6591 good
Shit 👍🏼
Can you reliably supercharge it?
Sure you can
Good for Ford to give enthusiasts the base Mustang GT for their latest platform, right off the bat.
Took Chevy 4 years!? That's greedy.
Great Review
Thanks Jerald!
This car starts at 100k$ in my country
The v6 one
6 speakers suck and the lag on that touch screen when swiping pages is disgusting.
sweet car!!!!!!!!!
Where the zl1 video?
Might as well get the ss
we need a 5.3 camaro
Love this car👍
Plus its a sleeper
I really like Mustangs but I think that Ford made it fuck ugly for 2018-2020. They screwed up so bad that I am cross shopping a Riverside Blue Camaro SS and I do not like Chevy or pushrod engines but it looks so sexy.
You ran the stop sign lol
🤭🤫
What’s better the LT1 or the SS?
Ss has more options but the same exact engines and 0-60
10 speed
LOL! Blurs out both speedos on first power run. A couple min later, doin 90 like "Fuck It!"
I don’t understand GM’s angle with this car🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Start designing the gen 7 already, stop trying to milk the gen 6 already! Seriously 😒. I know they putting it all in the corvette right now, but come on🙄
Wow love it
hi
Hey!
thank for the update men
Why are they calling it LT1... what happened to the SS?
Dee Ice they still have the SS, this is just a step below the SS..a bit more bare bones. Just a cheaper way to get the V8
Where can i get this car for 35k,
Pretty much anywhere. The dealer I got this from usually has a good stock of Camaros
Hello 👋
Bueller?
lol I've never had anyone think that before...someone just said Gordon Hayward the other day and I hadn't heard that either!
@@PrimeAutotainment hahaha didn't see it until you did the test drive part, but there's definitely some Broderick going on
Carolina Autos I’ll have to tell my wife lol. I even roll back the miles when I return the vehicles... 😬
What a deal!!!!
With Chevy ruining the new Corvette (it's pitifully ugly), this is the new bang for the buck sports car, and GM's going to discontinue it...why doesn't this surprise me...GM has the ability to produce awesome cars, but their upper level decision making is beyond stupid...
Starting price should be $21,000
Chevy needs to dump cylinder deactivation mangement on all trucks and cars
