Second night you might be able to get maybe 3 hours of sleep, still sweating like a bitch. Third day you get a little more sleep and not sweating as much. And from there it gets progressively easier. Other than sleeping, the other side effects of quitting daily smoking is you’re highly irritable, (and for me personally) you’re much less focused when you’re so used to focusing while you’re high. Quitting was not a fun experience, but when I look back on me being high practically 24/7… sober life is much better. I’ll still get high on the occasional weekend, but it was so bad always being high.

I guarantee you it’s the technology, not the weed. A constant flow of dopamine through your brain’s reward circuit was never going to extend anyone’s attention span. Have you ever seen someone write a single paragraph and half the replies to it are “I’m not reading all that”? I know you have, things like shorts only exacerbate the issue, shortening the already shortened videos, makes long form content a drag to sit through. There are people that literally cannot sit through entertainment without feeling bored, that’s why every app needs a swipe, or some kind of interaction, otherwise modern people couldn’t cope. The advancement of the entertainment industry beyond movies, fairgrounds, etc. has ruined attention spans and turned people soft. Weed has always been around, the advancement of entertainment technology is where we steered wrong.
